A great French restaurant close to Port Authority Bus Terminal.
It’s a bit touristy but definitely worth the money.
Tasty food, great excellent service and very nice ambiance. Will be back for more.

Simple yet nice. We ordered roasted chicken, spring risotto and asparagus soup. There is something about the French cooking, nothing is overly salty or overly flavorful. The taste is just right and very easy on the palate which is what we like best. We did not have a reservation on a weekday evening, and was offered an alfresco seating by the busy NY road.

After many years away, I returned to Marseille this weekend and was absolutely delighted to find that it is not only still wonderful, but somehow even better than I remembered. The atmosphere is everything you want from a true French brasserie: lively, elegant, warm, and timeless without feeling pretentious.

Despite arriving on a very busy Saturday night without a reservation, we were seated surprisingly promptly even though the restaurant was clearly bustling and full of energy. Our server, Sophie, was fabulous: warm, attentive, polished, and genuinely welcoming throughout the evening.

The menu is filled with both beloved French classics and thoughtful surprises. The artichoke appetizer with its accompanying sauce was spectacular, the shrimp beignets were unforgettable, and the seafood spaghetti with chili was genuinely top-notch. We finished with fresh berries and Chantilly cream, which was the perfect lighter ending to a rich and beautiful meal.

I was also thrilled to end the evening with one of the most magnificent oat milk lattes I’ve had in a very long time. It was absolute perfection and honestly far beyond what I typically expect from a restaurant coffee service. It felt more like something from a truly artisanal boutique café.

What impressed me most is how polished and special the entire experience feels while still offering excellent value for the quality, atmosphere, and hospitality. Whether for an intimate dinner, a celebratory group outing, or simply sitting at the bar and people-watching, Marseille truly delivers. I’m so grateful for such a lovely evening and will absolutely be returning much sooner this time.

We had a fabulous pre theatre dinner at Marseille. Loved our waitress Julia and every mouthful was amazing from the nightly special salad to dessert.

The strawberry rhubarb tart was delectable. Only thing that wasn’t perfect was noise level but considering it was 6 pm before a show on Saturday night, no complaints. The restaurant was packed! Highly recommend.

Marseille and our server, Johnny M, made our breakfast experience in New York before our Broadway show fabulous. Our food and drinks were delicious and Johnny M was the most thoughtful and attentive server ever. And the bartender that Wednesday morning made us the most delicious drinks. Overall, it was a great experience and highly recommend it!

The service was exceptional. My husband and I were well taken care of and even though it was pretty busy, we never felt rushed. Our waitress, Melanie, was top notch. She was nice, attentive, and professional. The food was delicious. We started with oysters as an appetizer and then ordered the lamb rack for the main entree. Everything had great flavor and cooked perfectly! We would definitely visit again.

Johnny was the absolute best server. His attentiveness and personality shined throughout our time here.

The food was all delicious, 10/10. We started with the duck mousse and salmon tartare. Both an absolute treat. The chicken schnitzel was my favorite!

Not pictured, one of the best espresso martinis I’ve ever had.

We had a very late family dinner here, but everything was outstanding. Servers were very friendly and the food was delicious. I just loved my French onion soup. So tasty, full of flavor. Demi-poulet meat was also very good (we’re just a bit disappointed with the desserts: profiteroles didn’t have enough chocolate sauce, so it was a bit dry. Perhaps profiterole could be smaller, made of a more delicate dough)

Our server, Henry, was absolutely outstanding. He was polite, attentive and funny. He took excellent care of us and made us feel at home. The food was incredible. I had been thinking about the poulet rôti all day and it did NOT disappoint. The ambiance is fabulous; you feel like you’re in a brasserie in France! 10/10. We have been coming here for years and will be coming back for many more.

I had a wonderful experience at Marseille. The steak was absolutely outstanding — perfectly cooked, incredibly flavorful, and easily one of the best I’ve had in the city. Every bite was memorable.

My friend and I had such a great time together. The atmosphere was lively yet comfortable, making it easy to relax, talk, and truly enjoy the evening.

The only small downside was that the table felt a bit too small, so we couldn’t order as many dishes as we would have liked. That said, it didn’t take away from the overall experience.

I would definitely come back, especially for that steak!

Came on Valentine’s Day with my boyfriend, had to wait over half an hour for our table at 9pm even with a reservation. However food was delicious. There was a prix fixe menu and the salmon ordered medium rare was so delicious. Would definitely recommend. Even liked it more than my boyfriend’s steak. Red velvet cake was kinda dry. But so cute. Loved the heart straws and how every girl got a rose.

Kafil and Carlos were super attentive, got us in and out quickly as we had limited timing for a show.

Strongly recommend reservations. We were delayed due to weather and they were very accommodating and had us seated as soon as possible considering.

Food was on point, we ordered Lorraine Omelet and Croque Madame. Had Sauvignon Blanc and a perfect espresso Martini.

One-stall women’s restroom, a family/accessible bathroom and a mens restroom.

We came in right before the lunch shift ended and still felt genuinely welcomed. The maître d’ (who is also the manager) was incredibly kind and accommodating, and the wait staff was just as sweet—attentive without hovering, and overall really pleasant to interact with.

Food-wise, everything was excellent. We shared the short rib pasta and the Niçoise salad, and it was more than enough for two people. The Niçoise was a standout—especially because the tuna was nicely seared and they even gave a little extra, which was a thoughtful touch. Everything tasted fresh, well-prepared, and honestly just extremely delicious.

The drinks were a real star of the meal. They made a lemon drop with gin and that drink was so well balanced and amazing. We just could not stop drinking it. We also had the $32 glass of champagne.

One small thing worth mentioning (and it didn’t bother me): since we were there at the very end of the lunch shift and stayed a bit past the shift change, the staff gathered at a table and were cutting up/playing around a bit. Totally understandable given the timing, and it didn’t take away from our experience.

Overall, great atmosphere, genuinely warm service, and food that’s absolutely worth coming back for. I’d definitely return.
