Came here on a note from an influencer. I was excited and purchased two cupcakes (Brooklyn Blackout, Hostess) and three little cheesecakes (Nutella, Oreo and Tiramisu.) Cheesecakes were decadent and filling. Definitely wow factor all around. I felt a little pushed along in the line. Not a-typical for New York but I didn't want to be rushed to choose from all the options. A little disingenuous and pretentious to not have prices posted anywhere. Either way I was highly disappointed with the Brooklyn Blackout cupcake. It was dry and flavorless. I'm not one to turn away even "okay" food but this cupcake was a hard pass. The space was tiny but super cute. Unfortunately the only existing table was dirty so we took it to go.

May 2026:
Saw a sign outside claiming "best chocolate cake in the US" by Food and Wine. For research purposes, I felt compelled to stop and try the Brooklyn Blackout cake.

Cake was tasty. Huge piece for $10.50. I'd stop by again. Next time, I would try the coconut cloud cake 🍰.
I happened to stop into this little cupcake bake shop, and it honestly felt like stepping back in time—the place is beautifully decorated with a real old-school charm, they offer some vegan and gluten-free choices which is great to see, there’s a nice variety of layer cakes and an even bigger selection of cupcakes, and the Ho Hos cupcake (chocolate cake with cream filling) brought me right back to my childhood—really well done, I’d definitely recommend stopping in if you’re in the area.
Little Cupcake Bakeshop—Prince Street’s Sweetest Problem 🧁

In my previous life I could eat snacks as often as I wanted, but since my bellybutton is not as close to my spine as I would like…I have become very selective in my delectable indulgences.

So when I give myself a cheat day, I make it count.

First off, this place is designed with social media seduction in mind. In the age of TikTok and Instagram, Little Cupcake Bakeshop is a visual feast of pastels and pinks, chandelier lighting, and a glass display case filled with enough options to send the casual customer into a full-blown decision crisis.

I went with the Brooklyn Blackout cake. I cannot tell you much about what happened after the second bite because I woke up in a chocolate coma somewhere in a Willy Wonka fever dream.

A fantastic latte kept me company on the way back to reality.

Yes, $10+ for a slice of cake will make your wallet wince…but hey, kids can figure out how to pay for college on their own.

I love to support family-owned businesses, and Little Cupcake has been one since 2005. Everything here is baked with love in small batches, no preservatives, no shortening, and fresh milk sourced from an upstate farms.

This matters to me…because you can taste the difference. 🙌🏻
absolutely loved the coconut cupcake. unfortunately, the vegan lemon cupcake wasn't my favorite. it's not very lemony and the cake was dry.

their bottled milk is also VERY good for some reason.
I went here with my friend yesterday for a little sweet treat! I wasn't initially sure what to get so I asked the staff for some recommendations, one of which was the vanilla cheesecake which my friend got and I got the peanut butter cookie, while the cookie was flavorful it did come off a-bit dry the first few bites but still overall enjoyable, would try other items in the future
I love that they are so pinky! They sell a very yummy banana pudding! I didnt take picture of it, but its really good. I also ordered coffee latte which quite nice.
Such a cozy little cupcake spot in Nolita — it feels super homey, like everything was baked with love right in someone’s kitchen. The vegan cookies and cream cupcake was seriously delicious (moist, not overly sweet), and the red velvet was really good too. Definitely want to come back to try their popular chocolate cake next time. Only downside is that their website could use a little refreshing — it doesn’t quite match how cute and warm the shop feels in person.
Someone bought these for me and they were absolutely delicious. The cupcakes were soft, moist, and perfectly sweet with amazing frosting. You can really taste the quality. Such a lovely treat and definitely a place I’d recommend! 🧁💕
A NYC must-stop if youre near!

From delicious cake slices to tasty vegan cupcakes, this shop has it all! We loved the whole design, the friendly staff, and the popping ambiance!

We got the black out slice, vegan vanilla, vegan red velvet (our favorite)! All were amazing! Def recommend this spot!
I walked past this place and decided to stop in just to see if they had gluten and dairy free options… I was honestly ready to take a loss but the girl at the register told me they had vegan and gluten free cupcakes which I was really excited about. As someone who is gluten and dairy free it’s extremely hard finding bakeries that sell food for me… and on top of that making sure it tastes good too. I will say this was the most amazing chocolate cupcake I have tried, I was even skeptical of it being GF/DF because that’s how good it was
This place has been around for so long and if you're ever in the mood for a really solid piece of cake, cone here. The slices are nostalgic and homey. I have never been disappointed (or, frankly, really bliwn away) with anything from here.

I know it's called cupcake shop, but I have only ever gotten cake slices. Always delicious.

A perfect treat anyday.
only reason i came in is cuz i love a nice neon sign. i’ve been twice. first time i got a slice of carrot cake. i think it was legitimately the worst slice of cake i’ve ever had. cake was dry with literally zero flavor and the icing was just sugar and left a waxy residue in my mouth. if i would have been blindfolded it would’ve been impossible to guess the flavor was carrot cake. i only went back because i read the shop supposedly had the “best chocolate cake in America”. the chocolate cake was ok, probably slightly better than the average chocolate cake i guess. same problem with the cake itself being dry and unflavored. the icing between the cake layers was nice and dark and rich, pretty good. the exterior icing was ok, but left the waxy coating in my mouth again.
The slices were $10.50 each so definitely overpriced.
The fact that the food was overpriced AND terrible deserves a 1 star, but i am a generous guy.
1 star for neon sign + 1 star for edible food in a nice box
If you want homemade three layer cakes this is the place to be. So in love with their good humor strawberry cake and their moist brownies
I have been to the city many times over the past few years. I finally made my way into this gem of a bakery. Between the cakes, muffins and pies there is something for your palate. I chose the carrot cake cupcake. It did not disappoint. There was a perfect balance of sweet and savory. There was a hint of ginger and it was moist but not wet as some carrot cakes/muffins can be. The cream cheese frosting was soooo good. I wish had also gotten the hostess cupcake. Yes that’s right like the ones from your childhood. Except these are made fresh and not processed. See photo. Thanks to the staff who were super nice and the ambiance is what I would expect of a fanciful bakery. My rating is 5 stars.
