The customer service was poor from start to finish, with staff appearing uninterested and unhelpful. Simple requests were either ignored or handled with a lack of professionalism. On the positive side, the ambience was definitely good and the tiramisu was nice. However, the food was pretty average and the prices were high for what they were offering. Unfortunately, the overall experience left us feeling unwelcome and frustrated. There are many other places in the area that value their customers more. I would not return based on this experience.

This place was hopping when we came in. We had no reservations. We waited about 20 minutes and were seated outside.
This place has amazingly friendly and hardworking staff.
Salad with gorgonzola was superb. I can honestly say that the best I ever had was daily because the cheese was so soft and had just the right combo of savory and tang.
Eggplant appetizer melts in your mouth. It is seasoned with sea salt and olive oil at the table.
The Pizza Margherita had a bubbly, crispy crust, a fresh-tasting tomato sauce, and flavorful basil.
We can't wait to go again!

Amazing experience from service to food. We sat in the enclosed front patio and the atmosphere was great. Everything we had was from the night’s specials- mussels, cacio e pepe pizza, pork pappardelle, lamb cavatelli, and lasagna. Will be back the next time we visit

I was very disappointed with my experience here. I had high hopes because the food and restaurant looked nice, so I was excited for this place.

First off, they only take cash which is a red flag but whatever. I thought the atmosphere was really nice but too dark, I like nice lighting but I also wanna see too. After being seated, it took a while for a sever to take my order. Another red flag that I ignored but started to realize my experience might get worse.

I got a lemonade and it was not good, tasted very watered down i might as well just have stuck with the water. Finally the food arrived and I was impressed by the looks. But the taste not so… it tasted very average. Also the breading of the chicken was grey for some reason, which really put me off so I didn’t eat it. You can do a better job at home.

Now the service… it wasn’t good. Not once did my two servers check up on us. The hostess was the only one who basically acknowledged us and was really nice. I wanted a refill for my soda but the servers were nowhere to be found. Left no tip. I wouldn’t recommend this place, $30 for an average chicken parm is insane. Bread was average. Go somewhere else.

Response from the owner

Hi Ilyxoxo,

We’re sorry to hear that your experience did not meet expectations, and we appreciate you bringing this to our attention.

We know being cash-only isn’t for everyone, and the lighting in the restaurant is intentionally on the dimmer side for atmosphere, though we understand that can be a matter of personal preference. What concerns us more are your comments about the chicken parm and the service. The dish you described is not how that plate should be leaving our kitchen, and you should never have difficulty finding a server or getting a refill. That’s not the experience we want our guests to have.

If you’re willing, we would appreciate it if you could contact us at team@frankcares.com with the date and time of your visit so we can look into what may have happened that day and address it with our staff. We would also appreciate the opportunity to have you back and make things right.

— The Lil’ Frankie’s Team

Don’t go through the obvious door lol! CASH, CASH and more cash. If you can make a reservation early, do it!! Very loud atmosphere, so don’t expect to hold a buisness meeting here lol. Had a variety of dishes like pasta (amazing), burrata salad and pizza were also a MUST.

Ordered takeout from Uber eats. Worst tasting take out i have had in a year.

Wouldn't even eat it for free. Whats the matter with this place?? It seems popular but wow..... quality and taste is not there.

Bland and salty at the same time if that makes sense.

Even Sbarro or Olive Garden has more umami

What a shame.

Response from the owner

Hi BusyBurdie,
We are sorry to hear this was your experience. That’s not what we aim for, and if the food missed the mark, that’s on us.
We’d love to hear more specifics about this order so we can understand what happened and find a way to make it right. Please reach out to us directly at team@frankcares.com, and we’ll take it from there.
— Lil’ Frankie’s Team

Very nice atmosphere, packed with family memorabilia and super busy, however the food on that specific day was ok. The seasoning of my ragu was quite salty and my friend's spaghetti al limone missed a bit of wham. Portions were very decent. Attentive service

Wonderful service, warm greeting by the hostess, courteous wait staff; server was super friendly; extremely fast delivery of food and beverages once ordered! Had reservations for 11:15P on the Saturday before Halloween, but arrived a few hours earlier at 8:15; and there was either bar seating or outdoor seating. We opted for the patio seating versus the sidewalk seating, y’all be careful because to get to the covered patio, you gotta cross the bike lane, and these uber delivery drivers / citibikers are pedaling fast! Our table also had a wobble, but the staff were pretty attentive and fixed the wobbly table. Got the margherita pizza, which had a nice fluffy crust, nice char and lovely cheese and sauce ratio/flavor. Wonderful time, reservations highly recommended. Want to come back to try other entrees and pizzas.

Had a great family meal here last night. The vibe is very LES/EV- if that is your thing: close seating, people bouncing around around you, two single bathrooms total, service is European in the sense that you usually have to ask to get something, and it’s apparently no issue … That being said, the Burrata Mozzarella and the house made Tagliatelle special were phenomenal. The ‘famous’ lemon pasta, meh- great for a child, as we said. The Wine selections were really enjoyed by the table. I had great local, Craft Beer- think I stuck on the Talea Al Dente Pilsner- clean, frosted mugware every time- no clinging bubbles- but definitely isn’t a pint, my guess is 12oz. The Affogato was memorable, and our waitresses were very nice. Could be back, and eat EARLY again- place turns into a zoo around 8pm if not earlier. Front door guy reminded me of the pushy maître d’s in Trastevere, but less welcoming - not necessarily my vibe, and even a borderline vibe-killer. “Oh, the East Village…” We did truly have a great night.

Late night best - Little Frankie’s is exactly what it sets out to be—gritty, no-nonsense, old-school Italian that nails the essentials. The homemade pasta special of the day (ours was a tagliatelle Bolognese) was a standout—saucy, savory, and clearly made with care. Same goes for the pizza: thin, crisp crust with a char that tells you someone back there knows what they’re doing. This isn’t fine dining and it doesn’t pretend to be—thankfully. It’s cozy, loud, slightly chaotic, and full of charm. The chicken Parm is textbook in the best way: crispy breading, gooey cheese, rich sauce. Service was fast and unfussy. It’s the kind of place that feels like it’s been holding it down for decades because it has. If you want polished and pretentious, go elsewhere. If you want legit red-sauce comfort and a room with character, Little Frankie’s delivers.

Absolutely delicious! Pizza was great, the dough and crust are fantastic. Good drinks, good salad, good mozzarella appetizer. Complementary bread and olives and olive oil would definitely recommend, and come here again!

Cute brunch spot, cash only. We come here pretty often, but I have only visited for brunch. Loved the French toast - it's very cinnamony. Lemon spaghetti is always our go to. I love the 3 for 1 cocktail during brunch!
Attentive server and great food. Back room is super pretty with sunlight.

I've been here twice now, this place is great! Lil' Frankie's has a wonderful vibe, even late into the night! I was there at around 12am on a Monday night and the restaurant was still quite lively. Just a heads up, this place is cash only, so do keep that in mind before visiting.

The food is wonderful! This time around I got their Handmade Tagliatelle with Bolognese sauce. I believe it was a special on the menu (not sure if it's limited time). Although a bit pricey, it was really delicious! The pasta had that wonderfully soft signature chewiness to it that is so characteristic of fresh made pasta. Each mouthful of pasta was deeply coated in the flavorful bolognese sauce. Rich and meaty with tender chunks of ground beef and an undertone of acidity and sweetness from the tomatoes, the sauce was exactly what I have dreams about! The Parmesan and parsley on top of the dish was also a nice touch. Not to mention the large portion size! All in all, it was a an amazing dish. The olive oil that came with the bread was also really flavorful, although I do wish the bread was a bit warmer. The last time I went here I remember getting the Spaghetti Limone and the Tiramisu and being pleased with those two as well, so I would totally recommend this place! It's a great late night spot if you're in the area!

This place is great! We are visiting NYC and this restaurant was recommended to us. We stopped for lunch and found the place authentic and charming. It was a good atmosphere in there, as plenty of people were coming in while we were there. We choose the freshly-made pasta dishes of ravioli and gnocchi. Absolutely perfect, light and delicious. It was a good sized portion as well. Couldn’t recommend this place highly enough.
