We decided to try Lenny’s for the first time. We live on the island, but decided to go to Queens. We had garlic bread with mozzarella, baked clams & veal Parmesan with spaghetti & ziti. Absolutely delish! For dessert we had espresso & cannoli. Happy to have found a new restaurant with great food.

Response from the owner

It’s wonderful to hear you enjoyed both the meal and dessert during your first visit with us.
All our best, The Lenny’s Clam Bar Team

Had a delightful afternoon at Lenny's. The food was delicious, good portions. The service was great. Nick is a great server. He made sure everyone at the table had what they needed.

Maybe unfair to leave a review for a Mother’s Day meal but I’ve had tons of family events here as well as regular dinners & was just super disappointed in this experience. Food came out at all different times. Main courses before apps and some mains didn’t show up at all & we had to hunt down a waiter who to be fair was apologetic but didn’t offer to go out of the way after a comedy of errors. The vegetables that came out as a side were completely raw. $500+ for a meal here and completely underwhelmed. Again, Mothers Day so its a high volume day I get it, but for a place that will have events with 200+ people upstairs and in the back room at the same time plus a normal dining room, they should be able to handle this.

Separately, I can’t stand walking into a restaurant and having people all over the place in baseball hats, basketball jerseys with back hair hanging out etc. Different clientele than in years past & there’s no standard from the restaurant. Kinda felt like I was eating at Olive Garden or Prima Pasta on their worst days.

Still probably a solid meal if I need someplace to go in a pinch, but its Queens & Howard Beach. Plenty of other options

Response from the owner

We’re truly sorry your celebration was met with so many frustrations instead of the comfort and care you expected. We take your feedback seriously and will use it to make future visits better.
Sincerely,
Lenny’s Clam Bar

Heard great things about this spot for years and it did not disappoint. The bartenders Maria and Jeanette were so nice and welcoming. They made me the best espresso martini I’ve ever had. I also had the clams casino as suggested by a local. Amazing flavor! Great experience overall.

Response from the owner

Thank you for stopping in—it’s wonderful knowing both the welcome and the flavors made your visit special.
With appreciation,
Lenny’s Clam Bar

Lenny's is always great and when you move away like i did , its even better , lol . Had the seafood d'avlo , spicy and on point . Living in NY , you take this food for granted . Go often cause you won't find it anywhere else !!

Response from the owner

It’s really special to hear our food brings you that sense of home even after a move. We look forward to your next visit next time you are in the area.

Lenny's Clam Bar has been a restaurant that pur family has been going to since the 1990's! We moved to Florida 14 years ago but was in Southern Queens for a funeral and had to stop to eat. Never disappoints, even after all these years.

Response from the owner

We’re truly grateful you’ve made us part of your family’s story, no matter the miles or the years. Thank you for your recent visit and we hope to see you again next time you are in the area!

Best clam bar in New York… this place is what Vincent’s clam bar in New York used to be… You have to get that calamari as an appetizer and the shrimp & calamari dinner was just the best ever!! The soups were New England clam chowder and pasta vagole was delicious… was good… My uncle had the salmon and it was so tender… the deserts are better than Ferrara’s in New York City any day of the week… Get Dave as your waiter (that’s a must !!) and the owner Joe DeCandia came over to make sure everything was ok… it was truly a night to remember… We came here all the way from New Jersey and my wife can’t wait to come back… This place is a must !!

@italiangood
@bestitalianfoodinny

Went to Lenny's for the first time and wow, what a treat. The calamari was exceptional. The baked clams and shrimp over rice were seasoned perfectly. Great service and I'll be back for the tortellini alfredo!

Response from the owner

Hearing how much you enjoyed both the seafood and the service on your first visit truly makes us happy. We’re already looking forward to welcoming you again and hope the tortellini alfredo is just as delightful for you.

While deciding where to go for lunch my friend’s wife called & mentioned that there were some new restaurants on cross bay Blvd so we decided to take a drive. Then ended up at this classic spot which celebrated its 50th year in business last year. (They still had the signs up) Neither of us had been to in years. Upon entering they have pictures of various celebrities who have dined there in the past. We were shown to our table by a polite hostess. I ordered the lump crab cakes, which weren’t what I had in other restaurants. They were more like your typical fried crab cake except larger. They were ok but I felt as though they were missing something. My friend went with the lobster bisque which he said was great. For our mains I went with the linguine with clams which was good & he went with the shrimp & calamari which unfortunately he was less than happy with. He skipped dessert but I couldn’t resist trying the crème brûlée doughnut. It is extremely delicious however incredibly sweet. If your sweet tooth is at least level 9 you’ll probably find it sickeningly sweet. They have a small bar area & it looked as though there were more sections to the restaurant for busier times of day. 50 years in business they must be doing something right.

Response from the owner

Thank you for sharing your thoughtful impressions and for giving our long-standing spot another visit after some time away. We’re always striving to offer dishes and experiences that leave guests glad they stopped in.

This restaurant is a staple that celebrated their 50 year anniversary in 2024. I was in the area and decided to try it and was glad I did. We started off with fried zucchini which were sliced thick breaded and fried, served with tomato sauce on the side. They were very tasty. We also had the fried calamari and shrimp combo also served with side choice of spicy, medium or mild sauce and the baby back ribs which came with choice of potato, baked mashed or French fries. Everything was delicious. The ribs were fall off the bone juicy and not greasy or fatty and the fried seafood was crunchy but tender. The service was very good. Our waiter and the busboys were attentive as well as courteous. The decor was a little dated and the ceiling tiles which are yellowed from age need to be refreshed. I would revisit this restaurant if I was in the area again.

Great food and service. We had the baked clams and tried the fried calamari, shrimp and scallops. All made to perfection. Their medium sauce was the perfect flavor and the right amount of spice. Love coming here and enjoying some fantastic seafood. Definitely try this place.

Lenny's Clam Bar is a true gem. The place is warm, welcoming, and full of old-school charm. From the moment we walked in, the staff made us feel like family. The food? Unreal. The lasagna was hands-down the best I've ever had. It was perfectly layered, cheesy, and packed with flavor. The calamari was light, crispy, and fresh, and the homemade cannoli was unforgettable and the shell had that perfect crunch, and the filling was rich, velvety, and just sweet enough. Every dessert we tried was next-level, you can taste the love in every bite. It's the kind of place that leaves you full, happy, and already planning your next visit. Don't miss this spot.

First time here and the food was very delicious. On the house bruschetta was excellent. An order of chicken Parmesan and penne alla vodka was enough to feed 3 people. Cocktails were a little expensive ($18 for an apple martini). I would come back whenever I’m in the area.

Response from the owner

We are so glad that you enjoyed all of our classic specialties! Thank you for your 5 Star review! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
