Matcha was HORRIBLE. Tasted like straight milk NO hint of matcha or strawberry. I went to ask them for more strawberry nicely because there was barely any and her response was “no it’s like that everywhere.” ?? No that’s not how it’s like everywhere, maybe just your store but I kindly asked for it to be redone and the lady worker had an attitude. If I wanted to get food here before, I’m not getting anything anymore unless this attitude issue is fixed and their recipe is worked on. I’m not even over-exaggerating when I say it tastes like straight up milk and no other flavor… so disappointed I usually love strawberry matcha. I tried to give them a second chance but they were very cold and unwelcoming. Was very sad. Matcha shouldn’t be this light in color if it’s going to be good matcha btw. I was expecting it to be like the photo they were advertising! False advertising. The place itself is pretty and cozy. I like their decorations and layout. They should add menus so we can grab and see what they have to order. Music was nice and area was very clean. However, I’m never coming here again and I unfortunately cannot recommend this place.

Response from the owner

Nicole Archundia, we're truly sorry to hear about your disappointing experience with our matcha drink and the unwelcoming service you received from our team member. We take your feedback about both the drink quality and staff attitude very seriously, and we'd love the opportunity to make this right—please reach out to us directly at bonjour@lepainquotidien.us so we can address these issues and hopefully restore your faith in our location.

Le Pain Quotidien — My Morning Ritual<br><br>On my way to work I try and stop by Le Pain Quotidien two to three times a week for two very good reasons.<br><br>It opens early and the food is genuinely delicious. 🙌🏻<br><br>I could wax poetic about the ridiculous display of delectable baked goods and pastries that greet you at the door, but I have since begun the transition into mindful, healthy eating and indulge sparingly. The bakery case is a test of character every single morning. I am not always winning.<br><br>My go-to for breakfast is the steel cut oatmeal with fresh fruit and a lovely pot of fresh coffee.<br><br>Other days, when I am feeling frisky, I order the Skillet-Baked Eggs with Avocado, Tomato and Feta. It arrives piping hot in a mini cast iron skillet, wonderfully prepared with olive oil that makes your taste buds do a full tango.<br><br>Pair that with their sourdough cracked bread and it just hits.<br><br>The layout is large and inviting, all soft warm wood tones and a generous communal table that is my preferred seat in the house.<br><br>Le Pain Quotidien is the kind of place that makes getting to work early feel like a privilege rather than a sacrifice.

Response from the owner

Dear Lux,<br><br>What a wonderful way to start our morning, reading about your cherished 6am ritual at Le Pain Quotidien! We are truly honored that our early hours, steel cut oatmeal, and skillet-baked eggs have become such a meaningful part of your journey to work, and we deeply appreciate your kind words about our warm communal space and the care we put into every dish.

I come to Le Pain Quotidien frequently, and am generally happy with the level of service.<br><br>The young lady that took my order, was nice, professional, and friendly. The other lady was helping another customer who had a larger order. She seemed pleasant. However the young woman that made my Belgian mocha acted like she couldn't care less about anything. I ordered a large, but it was a small in a large cup. She placed the cup on the counter and didn't say anything, so I didn't know it was for me. I waited a few minutes. When I asked about it, she just pointed to a cup. I ordered a Mocha, but had to ask for some chocolate. She said "Oh, you want chocolate? " I said "It was supposed to be a mocha."<br><br>She also used regular milk instead of oatmilk. I paid $1 extra for the oatmilk and tipped 20%.<br><br>Like, I get it. No one is making enough money to survive these days, but she isn't the only one out there working hard. I don't expect her to fake happiness for me, but at the very least give me what I ordered, in the amount that I ordered, and use basic communication skills to let me know when my order is ready.

Response from the owner

Hey Bobbie Daniel, we really appreciate you taking the time to share this detailed feedback, and I'm genuinely sorry that your experience with your Belgian mocha fell so short of our usual standards – getting a small in a large cup, missing the chocolate, and the wrong milk after paying extra is absolutely not okay, and we'll be addressing this with our team right away. We value you as a regular customer and hope you'll give us another chance to show you the attentive service and quality drinks you deserve. We would like to hear more about your experience. Please feel free to email us at bonjour@lepainquotidien.us

This was a great spot for breakfast, great food options and very tasty. The staff is really nice!<br>We were a table of 8 (4 adults + 4 kids) so our order came in different intervals, however the food was nice. The tea is not that great (it comes in a big 500ml paper cup) however the Danish pastries are lovely and the egg choices are great). A little pricey but then again it's in the heart of New York...<br>Nice experience overall.

Response from the owner

Dear Trevor Naudi,<br><br>We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed your breakfast experience at Le Pain Quotidien in New York, from our tasty food options to our friendly staff. We appreciate your feedback about the tea and pricing, and we're glad that overall you had a nice experience with us despite the serving intervals for your group.

Small portions, expensive prices, food is mid. The bread was stale as if it was made 2 days ago. There was only ONE server for the whole restaurant and it was PACKED!!! So the service was terribly slow. The coffee is also bad, we ordered a latte and a regular black coffee. There was no toilet paper in the bathroom either. Not recommended at all!! The aesthetic and the price do not match the energy.

Response from the owner

Catalina Cisneros, we're truly sorry to hear about your disappointing experience at our New York location and appreciate you taking the time to share such detailed feedback about the stale bread, slow service, coffee quality, and restroom issues. We take your concerns seriously and have shared them with our management team to address these specific problems, particularly regarding our staffing levels during busy periods and our commitment to fresh, quality food that matches our pricing. We would like to hear more about your experience. Please feel free to email us at bonjour@lepainquotidien.us

We went here while visiting the winter village at Bryant Park.<br>The service was decent, very cut to the chase but not rushed or rude.<br>I ordered the pumpkin spice iced coffee since they make the pumpkin spice syrup there.<br>It was okay, kinda small and a bit sweet.<br><br>For Brunch we ordered the egg and cheese on brioche and the salmon on an everything croissant.<br>Loved the salmon sandwich, the egg and cheese was basic in its taste and delivery.<br>Many other items I saw arriving at tables looked nicely put together, just not sure on their taste since this was our first time.<br>The prices were not terrible given you’re in mid town Manhattan so that was a plus.<br><br>Everything considered, we’d only go back to try some pastries if we go back to Bryant Park..but not much is TRULY calling us back.

Response from the owner

Dear Eve DeCarlo,<br><br>Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughtful feedback about your experience at Le Pain Quotidien during your visit to Bryant Park. We appreciate your honest assessment of our offerings and are glad you enjoyed the salmon sandwich, though we understand that not everything left a memorable impression that would bring you back for a full meal.

Had a lovely Saturday breakfast here with friends. It's pretty inside! Lots of breads and baked goods - unfortunately very limited for gluten free. (Bakery cafes should offer gf bread or source gf pastries; have some pity for those of us who get sick from gluten! There is a macaroon on offer which I ordered and enjoyed.)<br>Latte was delicious and our server was friendly. : )

Response from the owner

Dear daisychain3,<br><br>We are delighted that you enjoyed your Saturday breakfast with friends at Le Pain Quotidien in New York, and we appreciate your kind words about our atmosphere, latte, and friendly service. It is definitely a hip and overpriced place, but nevertheless they serve really good chocolate mousse, and absolutely great lemonade - neither is too sweet, which is very unusual for the US, as most Americans routinely oversweeten everything.

Response from the owner

Dear Dariusz,<br><br>We are absolutely delighted that you enjoyed our chocolate mousse and lemonade at Le Pain Quotidien in New York, and we particularly appreciate your thoughtful observation about our balanced approach to sweetness. We look forward to welcoming you back to our establishment soon, where we will continue to offer you the quality experience you've come to expect from us at Le Pain Quotidien.

Across from Bryant Park, Le Pain served a smooth Iced Vanilla Latte! I had a DELICIOUS Banana chip & Chocolate croissant like creation.. YUMMY!! Also the Cheese Danish was a sweet pastry made from a rich, flaky, buttery dough layered with a sweet, tangy, and creamy cream cheese filling. 🥰😋<br><br>Would like to try breakfast next time!

The experience was okay overall. Prices felt a bit high for what was offered, but I guess that’s just NYC prices. The coffee selection was somewhat limited. Unfortunately, my sister’s cup had a visible lipstick mark, which raises concerns about how thoroughly the dishes are cleaned.

Response from the owner

Dear Ms. Hebert,<br><br>Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback about your experience at Le Pain Quotidien in New York, as we genuinely value your honest assessment. We sincerely apologize for the lipstick mark on your sister's cup and will address this hygiene concern immediately with our team to ensure our cleaning standards meet the high expectations our guests deserve.

This decoration and lighting are what I like. The location is very good and the transportation is very convenient. The brownie cake is well made, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, very authentic. The large latte is great, a large cup is like a small bowl. Will continue to patronize next time!
