Got an early dinner here for the my mom’s birthday. We got the cacio e pepe and the rigatoni and it was TO DIE FOR. The service was excellent, we hardly had to wait anytime at all. Our only complaint was that the dessert, the chocolate coffee torta, was not our favorite. Did we still eat the entire thing? Yes. Overall, this was our favorite meal during our NYC weekend!

We had an early dinner. Started of with two cocktails that were excellent. The beet salad was our appetizer the dressing was phenomenal. I had the mushroom main that this restaurant is known for and it was delicious as was my wife tortellini dish. When the waiter had shared the specials me earlier their was a lamb dish that intrigued me so I ordered and it was divine. To end, we asked the waiter for a light dessert, he suggested the panna cotte which was very good . The waiter also suggested two great wines for our dishes. The place was packed but I observed the staff very closely. They were in sync . Everything ran smoothly. The atmosphere one word bohemian Lots of young people and great food. If you want to impress a date go to this restaurant. They have a nice room upstairs. The private dining area has a table which is surrounded by wine bottles, looks like a nice place to celebrate a special occasion. Service was outstanding the waiter was professional and efficient. I dropped my napkin twice and one of the staff picked it without me saying anything. My final two words
Eat here.

I went here to celebrate my one year anniversary of moving to New York. My honest review - go for the food, for the atmosphere, and especially, for the people. If you want a fine dining experience with flavourful food amongst a caring and sophisticated staff, this is the spot for you.

Being a solo diner, I thought I would have to lean on walking in, rather than reserving. I got to the restaurant and did have to wait for some time, but the staff was respectful. When I got seated, I talked to the waitress about my celebration. I believe her name is Mara. Mara and the team went above and beyond to make me feel special, even though they had no obligation to do so during such a busy time.

The food was remarkable, as expected. The appetizers were a perfect balance of sweet and sour. The beet salad was sweet (I especially appreciated the impact of the walnuts on this dish). The hamachi (complimentary) was a great sour flavour to balance the beet salad; I'd recommend getting both together. The Pinot Noir was great, and the hanger steak dish was amazing (especially the sauce on the dish). Finally, the olive oil cake (complimentary) was a unique dessert experience.

When I got the bill, I was pleasantly surprised to say the least. Words will not do my emotions justice.

All I owed was a penny; the bill said "Happy One Year !".

I've done my fair bit of fine dining, especially in New York. This is the type of gesture that truly personifies how much a restaurant cares about its customers. I have a lot of gratitude and respect for the owners/managers/chef for nourishing an environment where the staff is enabled to do what's right. It truly starts at the management level.

I look forward to hopefully visiting again, and I imagine I'll be quick to recommend this place to anyone.

This restaurant has solid food - all the time. This was my second time here and we ordered some favorites from last time. Consistently well done. Ordered a few new items that had a little miss but was comped because we really didn’t like it. We didn’t ask for that we just shared our slight displeasure and done. Service is great. This second time we sat at the bar and Nicolas (Niko) was great. Good engagement at the right times. Not too much. He knew when to engage and when to leave us alone to chat. Great second experience.

Went to L’Artusi for a friend’s birthday dinner on Valentine’s Day and it was amazing. They have a private section of the restaurant surrounded by wine and it was classy and intimate. Perfect for the 12 of us. Food was absolutely delicious. We were able to have three starters, three pastas, two entrees, unlimited wine, and dessert. Every single thing was cooked well and seasoned perfectly. Not only was the food great but the service was perfect. Our server was so attentive, kind, and really added to the birthday mood. Unfortunately, I did write down her name but lost it. She was amazing!!! So if you were working Valentine’s Day for the birthday party from 6-9pm, thank you so much for contributing to such a memorable birthday party. :) Totally recommend L’Artusi to eat and/or have your birthday party here.

I’ll start with the appetizers. I’m not usually a kale fan, but the kale Caesar was a standout. The Caesar dressing and croutons were so good—they really made the dish. I wouldn’t necessarily order it myself, but if someone at the table gets it, definitely try it.

The hamachi with Granny Smith apples, cucumber, and horseradish was solid. It was fresh, light, and had a nice balance from the apples and horseradish. Nothing that completely blew me away, but definitely good.

The focaccia was also really good—thick, soft, and just great bread overall. It paired well with the Wagyu carpaccio. This was my first time having carpaccio, and it was interesting. It didn’t have a huge flavor at first, but the aftertaste was nice. If you’re curious, try it, but it wasn’t something that stood out enough for me to order again. I didn’t try the roasted beets, but I heard they were great.

For the main dishes, I think the rigatoni was possibly the best thing on the menu at L’Artusi. The pesto really stood out, and you could clearly taste the soppressata. I usually think pesto can be a little bland, but this one was really flavorful and balanced well with the rest of the dish.

The braised short ribs were the only thing I was really disappointed by. As someone who loves meat, it just didn’t hit for me. The polenta was good, but polenta only really works if the meat carries the dish, and this didn’t. Honestly, it reminded me of something I’d expect from a fast-casual place like Wonder. After seeing the hanger steak in person, I’d definitely recommend going with that instead.

For dessert, we had the olive oil cake, the pear napoleon, and the coffee sprout torta. The torta was very chocolatey—almost too much for me. I like chocolate, but when the whole dessert tastes like chocolate it can be a bit much, so I probably wouldn’t get that again. The olive oil cake is the one everyone raves about, but honestly I thought it was pretty basic. The pear napoleon, though, was really good and probably the best dessert we had.

The service was phenomenal. Our waitress was really nice, gave us good suggestions, and made the whole experience smooth. I’d give the service a 10/10.

Overall, I’d rate the restaurant a 4 out of 5. I probably wouldn’t go again on my own, but if someone asked me to go, I’d say yes—it’s definitely solid. 👍

One of my favorite pasta places in NYC! I’ve historically tasted most of the pastas and all hit a perfect flavor! My favorite would be mushroom pasta. Super aromatic with truffle and cheese. Their burrata appetizer is also amazing!

Definitely one of the best Italian restaurants in New York City. I’m honestly not a big fan of Italian food outside of Italy but this one left a mark.

The place gets very crowded so book in advance and be ready to sit pretty close to other tables with quite a bit of noise.

The food is very good. We got the rigatoni the perciatelli and the branzino. All of them tasted very good and the portions were also appropriate. It’s hard to find pasta dishes in New York under $30 that make you full these days. For dessert we got the olive oil cake which I personally think is overhyped. It tasted good but a bit dry and just not special enough to have everybody ordering it according to the pics.

Overall main dishes were excellent and felt like good value for money. I’d love to come back.

We chose L’Artusi for brunch and it was a great experience. From the server walking us through several vegetarian items in the menu and explaining possible modifications, to the timeliness of the food coming out, and the delicious flavors, we felt taken care of and enjoyed our meal!

I would recommend the house focaccia (it comes with this delectable pepper olive oil with a kick) and the spaghetti dish (it has a parm base and feels refreshing/light). For a sweeter choice we liked the honey ricotta lemon pancakes, they were airy and not overpoweringly sweet.

Overall, one of the best restaurants I’ve had the pleasure of dining in a very long time. The mushroom, egg and cheese dish was fantastic. The beef wagyu carpaccio is was amazing. The pastas were so fresh and so balanced in flavor. And, I’m not a big dessert person, but the desserts were phenomenal and truly just as impressive as the meal itself. Nothing felt overwhelming or “too much” and everything was delicious. I’m surprised this restaurant isn’t rated more highly or even acclaimed with glowing stars.

My friends and I went for brunch and it was delicious!! Our favorites were the carbonara and the spaghetti! The biscuits and gravy were also a hit, they have the cacio e pepe gravy! Olive oil cake was just okay in my opinion, but worth a try if you’ve never experienced it.

Roasted mushroom and the focaccia were good start to the meal, the pasta dishes were good but didn’t standout. The dessert and the drinks surprised me the most in a good way . I came here based on recommendation but the place doesn’t keep up with the hype.
The place is loud so if you want a quiet dinner maybe go somewhere else.
The service was the not the best, our servers seemed like she didn’t wanted to be there, I understand holiday rush but just felt it could have been better.
Worth a one time visit, Not a stand-out meal.

Had L’Artusi on my list to try — it’s a must! Grabbed a reservation for 2 @ the bar on a Friday at 12:15 for 12:45pm. The garganelli pasta was incredible - I was hesitant about the mushroom ragu but it was so delicious and perfectly done. The olive oil cake was my favorite thing we ate — unbelievable flavor. A spoonful of cake w / the raisin marmelleta and mousse was absolute perfection. Highly recommend L’Artusi. Spent $150 including tip for 2 people - no alcohol.

Absolutely amazing experience at L’Artusi! The Cacio e Pepe was excellent—perfectly creamy with just the right amount of pepper. The Garganelli was equally delicious, rich, and great if you like a more tomato-based rich flavor. Olive oil cake was unique, but not as good as expected. Beautiful ambiance, great service, and truly outstanding food. Highly recommend!

We came to celebrate my boyfriend’s birthday and our anniversary and the staff went above and beyond to help us do so. The plates while a bit on the smaller side were fantastic! We were seated upstairs which felt a bit more elevated as there were some parties going on. The tables were quite close to each other so you could easily hear your neighbours conversations but we didn’t mind as it didn’t get too loud! Looking forward to going back!
