Went to this place for the 1st time, we ordered chicken karahi and palak paneer with garlic naan.
The karahi had a little sweet taste to it, which I didn’t like much. But palak paneer tasted good.

We came on a Memorial Day Monday for breakfast and thankfully they were serving all of their breakfast items! The food was amazing and hit home. Great authentic flavors. We got mughlai Nashta, paindu omelette with pratha and sweet lassi n chai gum powder n plain! Everything was brilliant! I’m surprised at the negative reviews as the food was definitely above par! Service could have been more friendly but again this is the NY/NJ area and not Midwest lol! Highly recommend!!!

Just had food at this Pakistani restaurant — absolutely authentic and genuinely delicious. Every dish was full of flavour, perfectly cooked, and reminded me of real home-style Pakistani food. From the spices to the freshness, everything was spot on. Definitely one of the best authentic Pakistani food experiences I’ve had in a long time. Highly recommended.

We went there for a quick snacks after work in the evening. Food tasted so good. Everything was so fresh, and it’s pretty much reasonable. I would love to go again for a proper full meal.

My friends, and I came all the way from Queen to have their very famous biryani and the goat Paya. But what truly came out of syllabus was their charsi karahi. Must visit. Chef Shaan really impressed us with his hospitality.

The Paya Nihari combo here is unmatched. I have tried many places, but the spice blend here is unique it’s flavorful without being overly oily. The meat was falling off the bone. Fast service and consistently good quality. This is now my go-to spot for desi comfort food. Ms. Shreya served us and her service was absolutely amazing! Thank you

Coming from the Toronto area, where there's way more Indian/Pakistani options, I had high hopes for this restaurant.

Unfortunately, it was an underwhelming experience. The pay upfront model doesn't work well with this type of cuisine. It means going back to the counter if you need to order more of any item. I think if the staff had at least dropped by once to check if we needed anything, that would have been satisfactory.

As someone born in Pakistan, if you're looking for authentic flavours, this didn't cut it. We ordered the Chicken Tikka masala which felt bland in flavour. The mango lassi did not taste like mango lassi, barely any real mango in there.

On the plus side, the food felt fresh, the garlic naan was decent and prices are reasonable. Can't see myself coming back however.

Awesome desi food in Jersey City. Every time we are in the city it is must to visit this place with delicious desi food especially Nihari, chicken tikka masala, kadai. Don’t forget to have doodh-Patti chai, must in winters! Service is top class!

Highly recommended!!

Mixed experience at Laree Adda. The ambiance is vibrant and service was friendly. We ordered Chicken Hot & Sour soup (served only slightly warm, not piping hot as expected, which was disappointing), Shikari Lamb chops, Mix grill, Dum Chicken Biryani, Phajjay Ke Paya (goat trotters), Khamiri Roti, Sweet Lassi, and non-alcoholic Mint Margarita.

The drinks stood out…..the Sweet Lassi was creamy and refreshing, and the Mint Margarita was zesty and well-balanced, definitely better than the food. Unfortunately, the mains were below average: flavors lacked depth, biryani was bland, grills were okay but not memorable, and paya didn’t hit the authentic punch. Decent spot for drinks, but food needs improvement for the price. I am not planning to return any time soon.

Absolutely loved the food at Laree Adda! The lamb chops were perfectly cooked — juicy, flavorful, and seasoned to perfection. The chai was the ideal companion, rich and aromatic with that authentic desi touch. Chef deserves a huge shoutout for such an amazing meal. Can’t wait to come back!

Honestly, I really wanted to like this place, it seemed to give the right “vibes” from the pictures on its website. But the food was substandard. We ordered the mixed grill. The chicken drumstick was fresh but the rest of the meats were clearly stale and microwave heated. We could hear the microwave beeping constantly in the back.

The fish was over spiced and the breads weren’t seasoned properly. Even the rice was stale and microwaved.

They didn’t serve us any water.

Our server was friendly but this is a pretty amateur gig.

And I disagree with another reviewer who said that the portion sizes are generous, they are not.

There are way better Indian restaurants in the area.

Oh, and they don’t serve alcohol and they won’t allow BYOB.

Pakistani food heaven in NJ — service, flavor & hospitality all 10/10!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Absolutely phenomenal! Visiting from the UK (where we’re spoiled for choice with Pakistani food), Laree Adda still blew us away. The Nihari was perfection, the garlic naans unforgettable, and the grilled platter bursting with flavor. Exceptional service for our party of 10 from start to finish — special thanks to Manager Ali for being so accommodating at such short notice. If you’re anywhere near NYC or NJ — this is the place to go!

We dropped by Laree Adda in the late afternoon for lunch on a weekend. The place was moderately full but with a few open tables.

The ambiance is welcoming, with an interesting mix of pictures on the walls. The section on Indian and Pakistani cricketers caught my eye and made me nostalgic.

We ordered the Chicken soup, Chicken Tikka Masala, Seekh Kebab, and a bunch of breads, including Keema Naan, Plain Naan, and Khamiri Roti. The Chicken soup was probably the best thing we had (had a spicy kick to it) but beyond that, the other dishes were average. Nothing stood out in terms of flavor or the presentation. We were excited about the experience but it didn't wow us, unfortunately. A bunch of dishes on the menu (the Grill and the Wok sections in particular) were unavailable during lunch time and only available after 4 pm.

The service is decent but you could see that they are running lean, and the staff is feeling a bit stretched. You pick up the menu from the counter, place the order there, the food is served at the table, and you pay at the counter.

All in all, the experience was a bit disappointing. Perhaps we didn't pick the right dishes. It is likely worth a visit, but avoid the dishes we had (except the soup) and explore other things on the menu.

Response from the owner

Thank you for your detailed feedback! We’re glad to hear you enjoyed the ambiance and the chicken soup, and we appreciate your kind words about the nostalgic decor. We’re sorry to hear that the other dishes didn’t meet your expectations.

Your comments about the service are noted, and we’ll work on improving both staffing and menu consistency to enhance the overall experience. We hope you’ll visit again to explore other items on the menu, especially from our grill sections, as they’re crowd favorites during dinner hours. Your feedback helps us improve, and we’d love the chance to wow you next time!
