We had a wonderful family breakfast at Lafayette during our trip to New York.

The food was absolutely delicious, and every dish was beautifully presented. You can tell that great attention is paid to both quality and presentation, making the experience feel special from the moment the food arrives at the table.

The service was excellent. The staff was friendly, attentive, and made us feel welcome throughout our visit.

One recommendation for future guests: it’s best to make a reservation in advance. We arrived as walk-ins and had to wait in line outside before being seated. Even with the wait, the experience was well worth it.

Between the delicious food, beautiful presentation, and outstanding service, Lafayette was one of the highlights of our family trip to New York. We would definitely return on our next visit. 🥐☕🗽✨

We had a confirmed reservation; however, upon arrival, we were still asked to wait by the manager, which was disappointing. The overall environment felt tense, and the staff did not appear particularly welcoming. It seemed that this atmosphere stemmed from management and extended to the rest of the team !

Additionally, as Muslims, we requested food without ham. We were informed that the kitchen was too busy and that all items were pre-mixed, making it impossible to accommodate our request. The response felt dismissive and lacked consideration, leaving us with the impression that our needs were not valued !

Regrettably, the experience did not meet expectations. Given the availability of other establishments that offer a more accommodating and courteous service, this would not be a preferred choice …

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. I’m very sorry to hear about your experience with our team — this is not the level of service we aim to provide. Please know that we are addressing your concerns internally to ensure it does not happen again.

We truly value your feedback and would appreciate the opportunity to make this right. Three friends and I strolled over to Lafayette from NYU campus where we sat in on a friend’s class at their Law school.

It had been some time since I came by so I was excited to get back. Decided to sit outside as it was a sunny day but realized by the end it wasn’t quite spring yet and was a bit chilly. Felt good to be in the sunshine though.

I ended up going for whatever fresh juice they had that’s orange (but not orange juice) and the banh mi sandwich. The banh mi was DELICIOUS which my friend didn’t expect from a French restaurant but I went with the server’s helpful recommendation. Whatever sauce it came with was perfect. Creamy with a little bit of spice. Would definitely order it again, and it was paired with a side of carrot and cucumber medley salad.

Great spot for brunch. Large space but the energy in the restaurant is fun and the decor feels spot on. Great for large groups or family from out of town. Can be loud, but again, the energy there is big.

We got the bread basket, the brisket burger, croque madamme, the smoked salmon Benedict , shakshuka, the Bloody Mary, and of course the pistachio croissant to go

Would be fun to come back for dinner.

My trip to New York began with breakfast here: a delicious croissant and coffee at this cafe.
The staff were very kind, and you absolutely have to try the pistachio croissant, it’s beyond praise! 👏👏

The only thing I would suggest is adding few chairs to the coffee area

Response from the owner

We’re thrilled to hear that you had a great experience at our bakery! It truly means a lot to our team to know we made your visit special.

We look forward to welcoming you back the next time you're in NYC!
-April

No line on a Saturday at 4pm. Walked right up. Was expecting this to be overhyped but I actually really enjoyed their pistachio croissant, and I don't normally gravitate towards croissants. I like the circular format because it makes rippable and easy to peel and eat. The flling is generous throughout and I happen to love custardy desserts. Lots of standing room inside. Would come back to try other flavors.

Very French and very Cute 🩷

We tried the Pain au Chocolat and it was the creamiest, flakiest and most delicious one ever!
The Hot Chocolate was rich and delicious as well.

10/10 recommend for ambience, vibes and baked goods!

I think our favorite part was the bartenders. Even though we didn’t drink at the bar, we couldn’t not see the bartenders. So well dressed and chic 👌🏻

A Must-Visit Gem in NoHo! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
If you are looking for an authentic Parisian experience in the heart of New York City, Lafayette Grand Café & Bakery is the place to be.
From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere strikes the perfect balance between high-end elegance and cozy neighborhood charm. The decor is stunning, but the food and drinks are the real stars of the show.
What I Loved:
The Pastries: Their bakery selection is world-class. If you can snag one of their famous "Suprême" circular croissants, do it—they are worth every bit of the hype.
The Coffee: Perfectly brewed, smooth, and served in their signature blue cups. It’s the ideal companion for a morning treat.
The Vibe: Whether you’re sitting down for a full French-brunch or just grabbing a quick latte at the counter, the service is professional and welcoming.
Bottom line: It is a beautiful spot for people-watching, catching up with friends, or treating yourself to the best pastry in Manhattan. I’ll definitely be coming back

Thank you for the kind words and thoughtful review,
Yonathan! We look forward to welcoming you in again soon.
- April

Lafayette Grand Cafe & Bakery was an unexpected surprise brunch treat with friends! They have a dog-friendly patio and a killer Salmon Eggs Benedict. They also have a fantastic pastry section inside that's not to miss. The interior of this place is gorgeous and makes you feel like you stepped into Paris! The Pistachio Cream Croissants ... YEP.

Thank you for the kind words, Jennifer! We're so happy to know you enjoyed your surprise.
- April

We ordered the smoked salmon croissant, which was really delicious.
The Cinnabon cruffle was the perfect level of sweetness. Absolutely delightful.

There's just one issue that significantly affected the experience. I sat in the bakery-only section, and the table was quite dirty with items from previous customers still left behind. I waited a few minutes to see if someone would clear it, but no one did. Eventually, I asked a staff member to clean it, and while she did, she seemed annoyed by the request.
Before leaving, the staff mentioned there was a garbage can where I could throw away my trash, which is fine. I always clean up after myself. However, if customers are expected to bus their own tables, it's especially important to ensure tables are clean and wiped down when new customers arrive to this section, and that someone is responsible for maintaining the area in between in case the last customer doesn't pick up, which they are entirely within their rights not to do.
Overall, the food was excellent, but a little more attention to cleanliness and service attitude would make the experience even better.

Response from the owner

Thank you for sharing your feedback. I’m sorry to hear that your experience was just okay, as we always strive to exceed our guests' expectations. Your comments are valuable and help us identify areas for improvement.

We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back and provide the exceptional experience you were expecting.
-April

“Laissez Les Bons Temps Rouler”
Pastries of Perfection
Read Time: 2-5 mins

“Laissez Les Bons Temps Rouler” , this is Louisiana French Creole for “ let the good times roll”. Every-time I have rolled into Lafayette Bakery, it was a good time. This blissful bakery reminds me of Lafayette city in Louisiana. Why? Just like Lafayette city in Louisiana, Lafayette Bakery is filled with fantastic cuisine. Their staple “ The Supreme”, is one of my absolute favorite sweet treats.

I was first introduced to “The Supreme” this delectable delicacy by Chef Cioe’s wife. I am so grateful for that exposure, because I would have never known of this hidden secret. (Or at least it was a hidden secret to me.) I have tried almost everything in the bakery and a few things from the restaurant. I have never been displeased.

The pistachio flavored Supreme is my favorite! It is always in season and it is simply the best. Also, there is always a new flavor of the month. Each month I am usually impressed. Chef Cioe never ceases to amaze me. He truly displays his passion for pastries with each new creative flavor. It’s like he is making art.

I’ve been here a countless number of times. The customer service is impeccable. The line for “ The Supreme” and pastries can be long at times; however, these treats are worth the wait. Lafayette Bakery is a must visit! Put it on your to-do list if visiting NYC. I promise you won’t be dissatisfied.

Please go visit Chef Cioe the craftsman of croissants! PS, if you are dissatisfied your taste buds need elevating lol

Pulled up to Lafayette Grand Café & Bakery like a man on a mission… and let me tell you something important: you do NOT need to wait in that crazy line for the viral Supreme croissant. Nah. Skip the chaos, walk in like you own the place, and go straight for the pistachio Supreme.

Bro… this thing is crisp and pillowy at the same time — like it’s confused but in the best way possible. The flavor hits you with toasted bread energy, tangy butter attitude, and that pistachio cream? Straight-up flavor bomb. Looks beautiful too — bronzed up like it spent the weekend in Ibiza, all those fine pastry layers looking like luxury wood grain.

And because I’m a professional eater, I grabbed the spinach cheese quiche too… AMAZING. Light, savory, and classy enough to make me feel like I pay my taxes early.

If we’re talking FOMO… this is the one. Don’t miss it.

Lafayette Grand Café & Bakery is more than just a restaurant; it’s a beautiful escape to a bustling Parisian grand café right here in New York City. From the moment you step inside, the stunning atmosphere—complete with the tiled floors, warm lighting, and a gorgeous outdoor seating area—transports you.
Culinary Highlights
The food is, simply put, a delight. I visited for brunch and was thoroughly impressed:
• The Bakery: The Boulangerie Basket is a must-order. The pastries are truly world-class, with those iconic, ultra-flaky, swirled croissants being the absolute star. The texture and flavor of the different croissants (like the pistachio and chocolate pictured) are pure perfection and entirely worth the hype.
• Brunch Menu: The brunch menu is an expertly executed French bistro dream. Whether you go for something savory like the Croque Madame or the classic Smoked Salmon Benedict, you can tell the ingredients are fresh and the preparation is precise.
• Drinks: The drink menu is expansive, offering everything from classic cocktails like the Manhattan and a selection of fresh-pressed Jus Frais to a deep wine list. The draft beer selection is a great touch for a classic French café.
Ambiance and Service
The vibe is lively and sophisticated, perfect for a celebratory meal, a special date, or a long, leisurely weekend brunch. The outdoor seating (as seen in the video) is an incredible spot to enjoy the buzz of the city while dining. Service was attentive and polished, ensuring a truly five-star experience from start to finish.
Lafayette Grand Café & Bakery is a destination restaurant that absolutely lives up to its reputation.
