The food was delicious. The owner was very nice and took the time to talk and explain the menu. So many options, yummy and clean. Meat was fall apart soft, tender and flavorful (crispy beef, beef and broccoli, and loaded fries.) Fries were fresh and real potatoes. Portion sizes were perfect and the to go containers are very convenient to eat out of.
Was in a mood for a burger today and decided to see what all the hype was about. Well the place lives up to it's great reviews. Had a smash burger lunch special today and the burger was delicious and the fries where perfectly cooked (nice and crispy). Will definately be back again A+
Response from the owner
Alex, thank you so much for giving La Sova a try! We're thrilled the smash burger lunch special hit the spot and lived up to the hype. There's something special about a perfectly cooked burger with crispy fries - it's comfort food done right, and we're so glad you enjoyed it. Your A+ rating means the world to us! We can't wait to welcome you back and have you explore more of our menu. Next time, maybe try one of our tacos or the Sova Supreme sandwich? See you soon! 🍔
The thing that immediately stands out about La Sova is how ambitious the menu is.

It’s a kosher restaurant in Midwood, but the range of food coming out of the kitchen feels more like a neighborhood comfort-food hub than a typical kosher spot. Burgers, wings, quesadillas, Asian noodles, nachos, sandwiches, and more. Normally when a place tries to do this much, something suffers. Here it really doesn’t. The cheese tasted like real dairy cheese. It was phenomenal!

One of the most memorable dishes was the burger, which is made from a pastrami and beef blend. That combination alone makes it interesting, but the flavor backs it up. The pastrami adds a deep, peppery richness to the beef that gives the burger a completely different personality than the typical patty. It came piled with caramelized onions, pickles, lettuce, and a creamy sauce that slowly dripped down the sides of a soft brioche bun. It’s the kind of burger where every bite feels indulgent and slightly messy in the best way.

The chicken lo mein was another standout. The noodles had a great sheen and were well coated without being greasy, tossed with chicken, broccoli, carrots, and vegetables that still had some bite. It tasted like a dish the kitchen actually cares about rather than something added to the menu just to fill a category.

The quesadilla was crisp and golden on the outside with a generous filling inside and a drizzle of sauce over the top. If nobody told you this restaurant was kosher, you honestly wouldn’t know from the cheese. The same thing goes for the nachos, which came piled high in a bowl with black beans, seasoned meat, diced vegetables, and a creamy melted cheese drizzle across the top. The flavor and texture were exactly what you’d expect at any non-kosher comfort-food spot, which makes what they’re doing here even more impressive.

The chicken sandwich was another highlight. The chicken was juicy with a great sear on the outside, layered with fresh toppings and served on a soft bun that held everything together. It’s simple food, but executed really well.

The wings had a sticky glaze that clung to the crispy skin with just enough sweetness and spice to keep you reaching for another one.

But what really elevates La Sova beyond just good food is the service. It’s genuinely exceptional.

Everyone we interacted with was warm, welcoming, and clearly proud of the restaurant, but Amnon in particular made the experience special. He runs the room with the kind of hospitality you rarely see anymore. He checks in, makes sure everything is right, and treats guests like they’re friends who came over for dinner rather than customers passing through. That kind of energy changes the whole atmosphere of a restaurant.

Midwood has a lot of restaurants that locals love, but La Sova feels like the kind of place that becomes part of people’s weekly routine. The food is satisfying, the menu gives you endless options, and the hospitality makes you want to come back again.

For a kosher restaurant, the level of flavor here is genuinely impressive. If you didn’t know the kitchen was kosher, you might never guess it from the food alone. And that’s probably the biggest compliment you can give a place like this.
Delicious food 😋
We got a crispy chicken sandwich and a shredded beef burrito 🌯
The server was thoughtful and recommended we get the combo instead of the fries alone, we saved $2 and got a drink to boot.
Would definitely recommend and will be going back.
Solid kosher gem in Midwood! La Sova nails the street-food vibe with bold, fresh flavors — the tacos and loaded nachos are highlights, super tasty with great portions. Food is high-quality and creative (love the meat options and dips). Service was decent for takeout, quick and friendly. Atmosphere is casual (mostly takeout/delivery focused). A bit hit-or-miss on consistency some days, but overall worth it for flavorful kosher eats in the neighborhood. 4.5 stars!
Ordered from here a few times already. Very delicious savory food & great customer service aswell. Will be coming back. Highly recommend
I highly recommend this place! The food tastes incredibly fresh, and the service is absolutely fantastic. We had an amazing experience and can't wait to come back again. Definitely worth a visit
This place offers an incredible cosmopolitan kosher takeout experience! I always relish the mezza and chulent for my Shabbat meals. The onion rings are particularly crispy, and the loaded nachos are simply insane! They also have great super affordable lunch specials.
Food was absolutely amazing! I got the brisket sandwich and just look at the size! The sandwich was great and every bite the flavor was delivered evenly. The fires are amazing as well! They basically make everything in house, no frozen or pre cut garbage! Highly recommend trying it out. Healthy
Clean
Delicious
Service
All get an A++
