4 of us went this Sunday night, receipt and pics all available. All of us started throwing up early Sunday morning. We all had to go to the hospital. It’s been determined that we have Staphylococcal Food Poisoning. This is the only thing we ate together.
We called the restaurant and of course they’ve completely denied. So if anybody has the same experience we need to speak up.
DO NOT RECOMMEND. Already reported to the authorities. AVOID THIS PLACE IF YOU WANT CLEAN FOOD THAT WONT TAKE YOU STRAIGHT TO THE HOSPITAL

I only bought the chocolate chip cookie ($8 without tax) to go. It’s absolutely worth it. One of the best cookies I’ve had. Crispy on the edges and soft with a drop of caramel inside. Love the extra flaky salt on top.

The spot also look nice also and will be back for food another time.

Response from the owner

Dear Harry, thank you for the kind words about our chocolate chip cookie. We are delighted you enjoyed the crisp edges, soft center with caramel, and the touch of flaky salt. It is wonderful to hear the space caught your eye as well. We look forward to welcoming you back for a sit‑down meal soon. Feel free to follow us @lamercerieny to keep in touch on Instagram!

First time dining here, went for brunch the Saturday before Mother’s Day. Love the vibe, upscale yet still casual and comfortable. Service was impeccable from start to finish. The almond croissant is possibly the best I’ve ever eaten. Antonio, Zeinabou and the rest of the staff were attentive, informative and super professional without being stuffy at all. Great little spot and the food was fantastic. Would absolutely visit again.

Response from the owner

Dear Shawn, thank you for spending a pre–Mother’s Day Saturday brunch with us and for sharing such warm words. We are thrilled that the atmosphere felt both refined and relaxed, and that the service carried through so smoothly from arrival to farewell. Hearing that the almond croissant stood out as a favorite makes us smile. We will be sure to share your kind compliments with Antonio, Zeinabou, and our team. We appreciate your support and look forward to welcoming you again soon. Feel free to follow us @lamercerieny to keep in touch on Instagram!

I’ve been here a few times already, and every visit feels so cozy and welcoming. This time I came around 4pm so only the small bites menu was available, but their signature crepe was honestly amazing. My mom is super picky with food and even she said it was really good. The whole restaurant is absolutely beautiful, the staff are always so nice, and every time I come here I leave feeling comfortable and happy :)

Response from the owner

Dear Kiki, thank you for the wonderful review and for continuing to visit us. We are delighted that the late afternoon small bites fit the moment and that the signature crêpe impressed both you and your mom. Hearing that the room feels cozy and welcoming and that our team made you feel cared for means a lot to us. We look forward to your next visit and hope it leaves you just as comfortable and happy. La Mercerie is such a special spot right in the middle of SoHo it genuinely feels like you’ve stepped into a charming Parisian restaurant without ever leaving New York. The space is beautifully designed, with elegant details that make the whole experience feel elevated yet cozy.

The service really makes an impression everyone is so kind, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. Anything we needed was brought out immediately, and they made us feel so taken care of throughout.

The food was just as memorable. We tried the viral TikTok cookie and it absolutely lived up to the hype. But the standout for me was the millefeuille so light, airy, and perfectly balanced. Not overly sweet, just delicate and delicious. Easily one of the best I’ve had in the city.

If you’re craving that effortless Parisian vibe with incredible food and thoughtful service, this place is 100% worth it.

Response from the owner

Dear Serena, what a joy to read your kind words. We are thrilled that the ambiance, warm hospitality, and timing of service all came together for you, and it is wonderful to know the mille-feuille and cookie made such an impression. Thank you for painting such a vivid picture of your visit, and we look forward to welcoming you again soon. Feel free to follow us @lamercerieny to keep in touch on Instagram!

La Mercerie at The Guild was such a beautiful spot for our anniversary. Great ambience, excellent food and very attentive waitstaff. The decor is gorgeous, and even the plates, glassware and silverware make the whole place feel extra special. They also gave us complimentary champagne, which was a nice touch. The host could have been a little warmer. I could tell kids are welcome but there’s really no space for strollers, so I probably wouldn’t recommend it for families with very small children. Look at the menu prices ahead of time so you know what to expect.

Response from the owner

Dear Carla, thank you for celebrating your anniversary with us and for the lovely words about the ambience, cuisine, and the care from our team. We are delighted the décor details and the complimentary champagne added to the occasion. We appreciate your note about the greeting at arrival as well as the stroller space consideration and will keep both in mind. We look forward to welcoming you again soon for another special evening. A bustling brunch spot with great scenery, excellent food, and servers who seem to actually enjoy you being there.

My wife and I ordered a couple of items off the brunch menu. She got a chicken dish and I ordered Le Completê, a crepe with ham, cheese and friend egg. Both dishes were full of flavor and decently portioned, but we could have split one other thing. (And we did- ordered the sweet crepes).

As we were celebrating a birthday, our server brought us a baked, warm chocolate chip cookie on the house (which was mentioned on at least one top-10 NYC cookie list). It was stellar, with crispy exterior and gooey interior, and just the right amount of flaky salt.

We get the hype. Great spot.

Response from the owner

Dear Reid, thank you for sharing such generous feedback. We are delighted that brunch felt lively and welcoming, and it is wonderful to hear you and your wife enjoyed Crêpe Complète, the sweet crêpes, and the birthday treat. Your note about the cookie’s crispy edges and gooey center made our day. We look forward to welcoming you back for another celebration soon. The restaurant is absolutely beautiful! The decor is stunning feels like you are in Europe! Our server Gabriella was so attentive and her energy and vibe was giving a girlfriend who was taking care of you! Her recommendations were great Andy girlfriends and I had an amazing time! The food is rich so it’s good to share and get a variety of meals! I highly recommend the anchovies with bread because it comes with the most amazing vanilla bean butter and also crème brûlée!

Response from the owner

Dear Chantha, thank you for the radiant feedback. We are delighted that the décor transported you and that Gabriella’s warmth and care stood out during your visit. It is wonderful to hear that sharing a variety of dishes made the evening special with your girlfriends, and we appreciate your thoughtful notes on the anchovies with vanilla butter and the crème brûlée. We look forward to welcoming you again soon. Feel free to follow us @lamercerieny to keep in touch on Instagram!

La Mercerie is a highly recommended French restaurant with a strong reputation, especially around the holidays 🎄✨ — we visited on Christmas and the wait time was extremely long ⏳, something to keep in mind if you plan ahead.

In terms of food quality, I found it overall serviceable but not exceptional. We noticed an issue with our wine — some impurities — and despite reporting it to the staff, there was no meaningful response, which felt disappointing💭. All in all, it seems like a beautiful place worth experiencing once, but not necessarily a regular go‑to.

The Brunch here is widely talked about and seems to be a highlight ✨. We enjoyed the Six Huîtres de la Côte Est 🦪 (East Coast Oysters), which were fresh and made for a good starter.

We also had a soup that might have been the Soupe à l’Oignon ‘Bichon Bichette’ 🧅🍲 (French Onion Soup) or a similar rich broth — comforting and flavorful.

Another dish we ordered was a French‑style savoury tart/pastry — something akin to a Quiche végétarienne 🥧 (Vegetarian quiche) with vegetables and cream — which was nicely textured and not overly rich.

The main dish I was most looking forward to was the Bœuf Bourguignon 🍖 (Braised French Beef Bourguignon) — unfortunately, this was underwhelming😕. The flavor was quite mild, and the beef may have been overcooked, causing the side components to overpower the dish.

We also ordered a Gratin Dauphinois 🥔 (Potato gratin) — nicely done but ultimately just a decent side.

Overall, the restaurant’s beautiful ambiance and classic French flair are memorable, but the dining experience was mixed. Next time I’d likely opt for their Brunch service in the afternoon rather than dinner.

Response from the owner

Thank you for sharing such thoughtful feedback about your holiday visit. We are glad the ambiance, East Coast oysters, and the onion soup resonated with you, and we appreciate your notes on the brunch buzz. We are sorry to learn your evening felt mixed, particularly regarding the wine concern and the Bœuf Bourguignon not meeting expectations, as attentive care and balanced, flavorful dishes are our goals. We would like to apologize directly and learn more about your visit so we can follow up with our team. Please send your contact information and availability to nkempijan@lamercerieny.com. Thank you.

It was our first time visiting this restaurant, and we went here during restaurant week. We love the ambience, and the service was excellent from the host to the server. Everyone was accommodating and friendly.

We tried one of each on the menu, and everything was delicious except for the duck and the dessert that has peanuts on it. We also tried the cookie, but it was okay and expensive.

My husband likes this restaurant, so we will brunch next time.

Response from the owner

Dear Erika, thank you for joining us during Restaurant Week and for the kind words about our ambience and service. We are thrilled you and your husband enjoyed much of the menu and felt well cared for by our team. We appreciate your notes on the duck, the peanut dessert, and the cookie, and we will share this with our culinary team to keep refining the experience. We look forward to welcoming you for brunch soon. Feel free to follow us @lamercerieny to keep in touch on Instagram!

We made reservations for the restaurant at 5:45pm and once we arrived we were seated immediately. Our waiter Donald was amazing he took the time to explain the menu since this was my family's first time having French food. I personally enjoyed every dish that came out it was interesting and all the dishes had different textures and flavors. My children and husband on the other hand did not enjoy the food as much as I did. I had Petit Paris as my first cocktail of the night and my son and husband tried the seasonal soda, which I had a feeling wouldn't be sweet so we asked for simple syrup. We ordered PAIN ET BEURRE, BŒUF BOURGUIGNON, POULET FERMIER CROUSTILLANT, GRATIN DAUPHINOIS, HARICOTS VERTS, and a crepe dish with Salmon. For dessert my son had MILLE FEUILLE NOISETTE, and I had CRÈME BRÛLÉE À LA VANILLE. We had a beet dish and a dish that had tiny ravioli which were very delicious. My oldest enjoyed his meal but my youngest did not. My youngest is a very picky so my husband had to switch dishes with him. The beef was soft and pulled apart wonderfully. All the desserts were delicious and the pastries were flaky and soft. My husband has a fermentation allergy so he could not eat the beef since it was cooked in wine. For dessert I also had a chocolate negroni which was absolutely amazing. None of the food was salty so if your palate craves salt you may have an issue. These dishes are definitely for those who want to taste all the natural flavors. Even though my family were not total fans of all the food I would personally come back again.

Response from the owner

Dear Thieanna, thank you for sharing such thoughtful reflections from your family’s dining experience with us. We are delighted that you were warmly welcomed and that Donald’s menu guidance was helpful. It is wonderful to hear you enjoyed the Petit Paris, the variety of textures and flavors across the dishes, and that desserts like the Mille Feuille Noisette and the Crème Brûlée stood out, along with the chocolate negroni. We’re grateful you would return, and we look forward to welcoming you back for another evening you’ll love. Feel free to follow us @lamercerieny to keep in touch on Instagram!

La Mercerie in New York is one of the most beautiful dining experiences I’ve had. The ambience is stunning — soft light, elegant décor, and that warm French aesthetic that makes you want to stay for hours. Every detail feels intentional and romantic. The food was just as impressive: refined flavors, perfectly balanced dishes, and presentation that looked sexy as hell. From the starters to the dessert, everything tasted thoughtful and beautifully executed. It’s the kind of spot you remember long after you leave. Absolutely worth visiting again for both the atmosphere and the incredible food

Visited La M on two separate occasions. Overall it was an enjoyable experience. Dinner: Pate en croute (chicken, liver and pistachio), Boef bourguignon, and special of the day dessert fresh fruit and light cream tart. Brunch: Le cocotte (baked eggs, cream, mushroom brioche), La complete (buckwheat crepe, egg, ham, Comte cheese), Truite Fume (smoked trout with crème fraiche), Crispy chicken, chocolate and almond cream croissant, and special dessert of the day French flan served with ice cream. My dinner highlights were Pate en croute and Boef bourguignon. The pate starter was great, very classic but I wish the pate slice was thicker though, for price point (and because I’m a big fan of this dish). The meat in the Boef bourguignon was tender with a deep and rich red sauce. It tasted like it was cooked for hours. To be honest, I was surprised by the choice of elbow past as its side dish. I don’t think there was enough sauce to warrant such a choice. A flat pasta like a tagliatelle would have been more appropriate. But over it was a satisfying dish, one that I’d order again. For the brunch we liked the crepe and the crispy chicken. The buckwheat crepe was thin and married with the classic sunny side egg, ham and cheese, drizzled with crème fraiche, was very tasty. The chicken was moist and the bacon infused sauce was really excellent. The chocolate and almond cream croissant was heavenly. Generously filled with almond cream, chocolate and topped with almond slices, it can be a meal on its own. The not so great: I expected a lot more flavor from the cocotte. It definitely needed seasoning; the airy brioche was the best part of the dish. The trout dish was ok. I hope the restaurant takes to heart my critique on both desserts. The flan and fruit tart were displayed on the counter so they were served room temperature. They really need to be chilled before serving. Especially the delicate cream in the fruit tart suffered from being served this way. The service was attentive and having a restaurant inside a furniture/lighting store was certainly a new experience. The place is popular.
