Used to be better, I feel like since they’ve gotten the giant truck the chicken tends to be dry. Not what I remember from my childhood. Fries are good

Honestly the food is not good enough to justify the price. For the prices they charge you can go to an actual restaurant instead of some food truck. Also cash only so it’s a bit of a hassle since I usually don’t carry cash.

You never ate from us. You’re part of that pathetic Reddit cult.
While exploring 31st Street, I stopped by King Souvlaki and was seriously impressed. The food is fresh, flavorful, and very reasonably priced for the quality and portions. The Greek fries were absolutely delicious, perfectly seasoned and packed with flavor. Their salads were fresh and satisfying, and the lamb, chicken, and pork skewers were all juicy, tender, and cooked perfectly. Great spot for authentic Greek street food with fast service and a welcoming atmosphere. Definitely worth coming back for!
Oh my God, would you just look at this hero? I cannot believe how beautifully crafted it is. How delicious it is and how quick it came out. The people here are Homies. The guy was kind enough to look after my bike as I was in a hurry. The chicken is great, the fries are well seasoned, the sauce is evenly proportioned. Best of all, this is something that is incredibly well put together. Typically, when I get a hero, it tends to fall apart in my hands before I am able to eat even half of it. The staff here of four people working diligently and kindly really know what they are doing. In addition, other heroes I find often have dry chicken but not here.
A friend told me this was the best gyro in NYC so we traveled from the upper east side to come. It didn’t disappoint. And I accidentally ended up back here today! I was so excited to see it and persuaded my friends that we need to eat here. They were all happy we did.
Ordered a beef lamb gyro platter with rice to go which is normally very good. Got home and the girl gave us the wrong order of pork with french fries. One person doesn’t eat pork and the other person said everything was ice cold and disgusting. No more King take out for us!
Best and tastiest Greek food truck in NYC. Actually one of the few food trucks I would ever get food from. Fresh marinated perfect souvlaki whether it is pork or chicken. Fresh crisp salad. Delicious fries. Even the tzatziki is top notch
Food was prepared quickly. I ordered the chicken souvlaki and it was absolutely delicious—highly recommended! 😋
I used to love this place. Food not the same. Some staff lowkey have an attitude. I asked for tzatziki, she asked to see sandwich, i showed it, and then she showed me the tzatziki all the way on the bottom where its wrapped. As she is re-wrapping the sandwich i asked for a bit more please. She said $1. Like i literally left and drove back for more sauce cause my cousin said there wasnt any or barely. I ordered this thru postmates because i had no cash, and she didnt care. Idk the best way to put it but this wasnt the first time ive been dealt with no customer service or service where you feel like they dont care.Wouldve it costed you so much to just put a little bit more?. By showing that, i had to give a real honest rating. Something i never really done before i have to admit even when its bad because i dont like doing things like this to businesses because of staff but it is what it is. Do better please. I hope it improves because i really have love for king souvlaki. Il update this if it improves in the future
Not sure what’s going on with some of these reviews, but any true Astoria native (born and raised, and not a transplant) knows this place is the real deal—great food, incredible flavor, and top-notch service. If your review isn’t about the food, don’t try to damage a business’s reputation and livelihood. Just had the chicken gyro salad—delicious, and I’ve even got leftovers for lunch tomorrow!
Stopped by the King Souvlaki food truck on 31st St & 31st Ave in Astoria for a very late-night bite and grabbed some pork kebabs on a stick. Unfortunately, the meat was barely warm, dry, and lacked the authentic flavor I was hoping for—even after adding lemon juice and salt. It just didn’t hit the spot and left me craving a more satisfying meal. Decent for a quick stop, but definitely not their best showing.
This food truck was probably my favorite that I have ate at in NYC. They’re pork souvlaki with Peet’s and their king sauce is to die for. Very tender, juicy, and flavorful. They put this lemon vinaigrette sauce in them that I thought was going to be overpowering, but it wasn’t. It gave it the perfect balance. Their feta loaded fries with the lemon sauce was the highlight of the night. The staff was friendly and kind, and answered all the questions we had about the menu. Counting the days until I go again.

Pork souvlaki: 10/10
Fries: 10/10
I was excited to try this food truck and ordered their pork pita. It was stuffed with soggy fries but the pork was marinated pretty well. The cut could have been fattier to give it a little more moisture. The pita hit it out of the ballpark with the softness. The platter had a salad of simple lettuce and a few cut tomatoes (bland as there was no dressing). I was a fan of their tzatziki though.
The truck had 5 workers working! The wait time for the food was pretty fast. The food was very affordable with $10 a meat gyro and a few more dollars more for a full platter.
Every time I make my way to NYC I seem to find myself making a stop here. They are soo consistent! I love their Pork Souvlaki Platter. It’s my go to. I get their Tzatziki, Greek fries, and pork topped with Lemon Juice, salt, oregano, & paprika. Their salad and pita is always fresh and delicious.
I needed food while walking to the bus stop to go to the airport, and I’m so happy God was smiling on me that day & directed me here (via google maps). The food. I have an upcoming flight & have the option to connect through LGA. I’m considering doing that just so I can catch a ride to this truck, get this amazing food, & go back to the airport to finish my trip! So, that’s how I feel about the food. The service was also great. Super nice people!!! Can’t wait to be back. Thank you!
