My brother is a huge fan of Junior’s and had been telling me to try it for years, but I kept avoiding it because I assumed it was just another tourist spot in Times Square

I finally gave it a chance last week because they had a special Knicks cupcake, and I’m so glad I did! The cheesecake was surprisingly light, fresh, and creamy without being overly rich or heavy like many classic cheesecakes

It was so good that I ended up buying three more slices to take home with me 😆

Absolutely unforgettable experience at Junior’s Restaurant & Bakery!

I came here specifically to try what is often described as the best cheesecake in New York, and it completely lived up to the reputation. I ordered the strawberry cheesecake, and it was simply incredible. The texture was perfectly creamy, rich without being overwhelming, and the strawberry topping added a fresh, slightly tangy sweetness that balanced everything beautifully.

The atmosphere of the restaurant is lively and welcoming, with a classic New York diner vibe that makes the experience even more enjoyable. Despite being busy, the service was efficient and friendly, and everything felt well organized.

What really stood out was how fresh and high-quality everything tasted. You can tell there is real craftsmanship behind their desserts. The cheesecake alone is worth the visit, but the overall experience makes it even better.

If you’re in New York, this is a must-visit spot for dessert lovers. I’ll definitely be coming back on my next trip.

Food was good, exactly what you'd expect. Prices seemed high, but it was recommended to us so of course we were going to try it out. Will probably return if there wasn't a long wait. Sitting outside was nice and much needed for the beautiful night. But food quality was basically an Applebee's in comparison.

May 2026:
Came here after watching Oh Mary nearby. Shared three slices of cake: coconut lemon, red velvet and carrot cake. My favorite was the coconut lemon 🍋. Red velvet cake was my second favorite.

May 2026:
Stopped by for a very quick preshow dinner. Our server did a great job to get us out on time.

I had a corned beef sandwich. There was a lot of meat piled high on my sandwich 🥪. Went very well with the pickles, cabbage and beets. Would definitely get that again.

My wife had the matzo ball soup. She liked her meal too. Great spot for a delicious meal.

I had an amazing dining experience at Juniors. The food was absolutely outstanding — the croissant, cakes, muffins, cappuccino, and complementary delicacies-everything we ordered were all top quality and incredibly delicious.

What truly made the experience exceptional, though, was the service, especially from our server, Shawn. He was very professional, kind, and attentive throughout our visit. He made sure everything was perfect and went above and beyond with his hospitality. His service really stood out and made us feel very welcomed and comfortable.

I’m definitely planning to come back again and would highly recommend this place to others.

I hear Junior's mentioned every time someone asks about the best cheesecake in NYC so I had to make sure I tried it this time. After going to see a Broadway show, my friend and I decided to have dinner here. It was Saturday night and though it was pretty packed, the wait time was only about 10-15 minutes. I think we were actually seated in about 5-10 minutes. I had a cheeseburger and fries as my meal, which was really good. Their portions are pretty big for the price too. I'm not a huge fan of plain cheesecake so I tried the Brownie Explosion Cheesecake, which was pretty good. It didn't rock my world like I expected it to but it is something that I'd likely reorder. The service was awesome too. I'd definitely return whenever I'm back in NYC and in the area.

This is a review only about the cheesecake. It there is any cheesecake you're looking for this place definitely does it well. The cheesecake is not too thick but has a pleasant texture. Im a suckered for softer cheesecakes but this place still makes a delicious cheesecake.

THE IRISH CREAM CHEESECAKE: I thought I'd like this but it wasn't my favorite. I'm not sure what I was expecting but it didn't remind me of Irish cream much. I got more of a regular cheesecake flavor.

CHOCOLATE MOUSSE CHEESECAKE: okay now this flavor is insane. I was so impressed by this one. The mousse is infused with the cheesecake and is fluffy, soft, and rhe flavor is decadent. It's the type of cheesecake you want to come back for. I will definitely be eating this one when I come back

If you’ve ever thought cheesecake was just another dessert, Junior’s will completely change your mind. From the first bite, it’s clear why this is hailed as one of the most amazing cheesecakes in the world. The texture is pure perfection—creamy, velvety, and luxuriously rich without ever feeling heavy. The crust strikes the perfect balance of buttery and slightly sweet, providing just the right crunch to complement the silky filling.
What truly sets Junior’s apart is the attention to flavor and freshness. Every slice tastes homemade, with a delicate sweetness that’s never overpowering. Whether you’re indulging in a classic New York-style cheesecake or exploring one of their inventive seasonal flavors, the experience is unforgettable.
Junior’s isn’t just a cheesecake—it’s a moment of pure joy, a little slice of heaven that makes you appreciate what a dessert can truly be. For cheesecake lovers, it’s nothing short of legendary.

Stopped into Junior’s Cheesecake for dessert while in Times Square. Service was good and our waitress, Jasmine, was friendly. Classic diner vibe and very family-friendly.

We only had cheesecake, but it was excellent. Honestly, even better than my mom’s, which I don’t say lightly. Everything else coming out of the kitchen looked good too.

Also worth noting: clean, nice bathrooms.

Solid spot if you’re nearby and want dessert.

A must visit for anyone seeking a variety of food options with oversized portions. The Cheeseburger is one of the best, especially with its mouth watering flavors. We dined on the Chicken Alfredo and enjoyed its homemade sauce and had the Buffalo Shrimp as an appetizer. Don't miss out on the Strawberry Cheesecake as a dessert option. Too many choices and there all great. This is our go to place when visiting the Big Apple.

Our visit to Junior's Restaurant & Bakery was a bit of a mixed experience, but one that ultimately ended on a high note.

When coming to New York, just about every local we spoke to insisted that this was the place to go for authentic New York cheesecake—and highly recommended the chicken parmigiana as well saying it’s portion was massive. After a long day of walking around the city, we were more than ready to sit down, relax, and finally try it for ourselves.

Right away, the atmosphere delivered exactly what we were hoping for. It had that lively, classic Times Square energy, yet still felt comfortable enough to unwind. We were promptly seated by an upbeat and friendly hostess who truly set the tone—her service alone deserves five stars.

Once seated, we ordered two waters and asked our waiter about the portion size of the chicken parmigiana. Unfortunately, this is where the experience started to decline. The waiter seemed noticeably annoyed and responded rather abruptly, saying it was “big enough to share.” That’s exactly what we chose to do—but from that point on, the service took a turn.

After taking our order, the waiter didn’t return to check on us at all. When the food arrived, it was simply dropped off without any follow-up—no check-in on how the meal tasted, no refills on water, nothing. After we finished eating, we waited about 35 minutes before he finally came back to the table.

When he did return, I asked for the bill. Instead of a typical interaction, he handed over a handheld payment kiosk and told me to add a tip on the next screen. I asked if I could pay in cash, as by this point I was already quite disappointed with the service—particularly the feeling that we were being judged for sharing a meal. What the waiter didn’t know was that we had fully intended to order three slices of cheesecake to try a variety of flavors.

Due to his lack of attentiveness and attitude, we decided it would be best to skip dessert at the table and instead order from the takeout counter. While I always believe in tipping, the service we received unfortunately did not warrant much so the waiter got the change left over.

On our way out, I made sure to thank the hostess again for her kindness and mentioned that it might be worth reminding staff not to prejudge guests based on what they order—there can be many reasons, including personal or medical, why people choose to share a meal.

At the takeout counter, while we were waiting in line to order three slices of cheesecake, the experience took a positive turn. A manager approached us, sincerely apologized for our experience, and generously offered to cover our desserts. We ended up receiving all three slices on the house, which was a very thoughtful gesture, and we still willingly would have bought.

And I have to say—the cheesecake absolutely lived up to the hype. Rich, creamy, and easily some of the best we’ve ever had. New York is known for its cheesecake for a reason, and Junior’s definitely proves why. My recommendation would definitely be trying the brownie explosion, Red velvet cheese, cheesecake, And absolutely to die for the Oreo cheesecake.

Overall, while the table service left a lot to be desired, the atmosphere, hostess, and especially the manager’s effort to make things right helped turn the experience around. And of course, the cheesecake alone makes it worth a visit.

Had an amazing lunch at Junior’s!

• I read a lot of reviews saying it’s touristy and overhyped, but I always prefer experiencing things myself—and I’m so glad I did.
• I ordered the lunch combo (corned beef sandwich with matzo ball soup), and my aunt got their signature barbecue. Everything tasted amazing and comforting.
• They served nicely brewed coffee and kept refilling our cups (free-flowing coffee is always a win!).
• We shared the original cheesecake with strawberry sauce on the side, and wow—it’s easily one of the best cheesecakes I’ve tried. Definitely not just hype.
• The staff were very kind, attentive, and welcoming.
• Spacious, clean dining area with clean restrooms as well.
• Highly recommending Junior’s for an authentic and wonderful American diner experience; especially great for families too.

Was going to see the Bueno Vista Social Club show on 45thth street in NYC & noticed this restaurant 1/2 a block away and had plenty of time to have lunch. What a find. The food was exceptional. It reminded me of my youth in NYC and traditional Delis
We ordered Matzah Ball soup to start and it was outstanding. The Matzah Balls were huge and fluffy. Of course, they had pickles, Cole slaw & beets in small dishes on the table. For the main dish we ordered Ruben Sandwiches. My wife ordered a combo of corned beef & pastrami & ordered the pastrami. They were huge and the bast we ever had. We were stuffed but could not leave without having their famous cheesecake for desert. We ordered the raspberry swirl and was unbelievably light tasty. We had small bottles of Proseco to top off our meal. The price and wait to get a table was well worth it. When we left the restaurant, the line was queuing up for our show; perfect timing.

Great place with a cool atmosphere and better people. Kyle was our waitress at the bar and was the kindest person. She made very good recommendations (the pumpkin pie cheesecake 10 out of 10) and was so considerate with our cultural questions. First impression of NYC at this restaurant, 11 out of 10.

A family-friendly restaurant with a long history in New York, located in the heart of Times Square. They offer a variety of cheesecakes, very good Burgers, and Delicate Sandwiches. I was expecting a better Matzah Ball Soup, but I found it a little salty. The waiters were busy and a bit rushed when taking our order.
Thank you JUNIOR'S 👍
