It was my first time at JFK but I was very impressed, well organized quick self check in weighing your bag and printing your boading pass, though they had alot of construction going on around the airport and at terminal 5 it still was easy to navigate.the runway a so well kept and updated, the rest rooms are very clean with no smell which indicates regular cleaning and freshening up.

Terminal 4 is One of The worst airports in the USA. Bad design. Bad process. No where to wait for your flight AT THE AIRPORT. NYC is a joke. The Terminal has more space set aside for wheelchairs than regular people.. it’s completely out of control….avoid this if you can. Plus The TWA hotel is a dump, $35 for a cheeseburger. Fries $14 more. For steak and shake fries. 28$ for a tiny pizza just like every MOD pizza you’ve ever suffered through. You can have NY. It’s yours…

John F. Kennedy International Airport gave me a very good overall experience. The airport is huge, well organized, and despite the high number of travelers, everything felt manageable and clearly structured. Signs were easy to understand, which made moving between terminals much easier even for international visitors.

What I especially liked was the atmosphere — modern, busy, but still efficient. Security and staff were professional, and there were many options for food, drinks, and shopping while waiting for the flight. The connection options by AirTrain are also very practical and make arriving at or leaving the airport convenient.

For such a large international airport, the process felt smooth, and the overall impression was positive. A strong gateway to New York and a fitting airport for one of the world’s most exciting cities.

John F. Kennedy International Airport is one of the world’s major aviation hubs, welcoming travelers from all over the globe. The airport offers excellent facilities, with a wide range of dining, shopping, and passenger services that make travel more comfortable.

Every visit reminds me why it’s one of the busiest international gateways in the U.S. The airport is huge and has a lot to offer, from modern terminals to efficient connections, but it can also feel overwhelming, especially during peak hours or when there are delays.

Overall, it is a well-equipped and important airport with great amenities, though navigating the crowds can sometimes be a challenge.

I had a very frustrating experience at JFK Airport. I arrived three hours before my scheduled departure, which is usually more than enough time for any major airport, but I was barely able to make it to my gate before boarding. The main issue was extremely long security lines caused by a shortage of TSA staff, reportedly because many were not getting paid at the time. It was shocking to see this happening at one of the busiest airports in the world. The lack of staffing and poor contingency planning created unnecessary stress for travelers. This experience really made me question how such a situation is possible in a country that considers itself developed. I strongly recommend arriving much earlier than usual if you are flying from JFK.

John F. Kennedy International Airport is truly an impressive gateway to New York City. The airport is large but very well organized, and it’s easy to navigate between terminals, security, and the gates. The staff throughout the airport were helpful and professional, making the travel experience smooth from arrival to departure.

There are plenty of dining and shopping options, comfortable seating areas, and great views of the runways while waiting for your flight. The airport also does a great job balancing modern upgrades while preserving some of the iconic aviation history nearby, especially with the beautifully restored TWA Hotel.

Overall, a great airport experience and a fitting welcome to one of the world’s greatest cities. ✈️

A lot to improve. tSA is super slow, especially in Terminal 5. Long lines, so go with enough time. The signage inside the airport is terrible. The food options are very limited, and nothing feels fresh from the day. I felt that I was waiting in a corner in the middle of the city, and even the plate was terrible! Cleaning is also bad! This part of the airport needs a lot of work and dedication

I have flown couples of time in JKF. Terminal 8 is one of the quickest one for immigration as staff were usually very flexible and divert passenger to US citizens counters. Baggage reclaim is quick as well, together with the TSA clearance. However, the food and shopping choices in T8 is very limited, and even no paid lounge for priority pass owner.

Landed here into what felt like the most dated airport and longest ever customs queue.

We spent around two hours on the ESTA queue in Terminal 7 while the checks itself took around 15 minutes.

For an airport of this size, surely more staff members should be deployed to ease the queues??

Departing was a much better experience as the queues moved super quick and scanners were updated enough to not require us to remove our liquids.

The meal options were not the best in but there were enough seats for everyone so maybe bring your own lunch/dinner.

Will probably fly through Dublin next time for pre-clearance until the refurbishment is done.

I’ve been to this airport every time for a flight. It’s an average airport, there’s only a few bathrooms available and they’re usually clean. Lines can be very long but that’s expected. Only thing I don’t like is that when you pick up your checked luggage’s, the bathrooms are only available after you pick them up. So when you get off the plane you can’t use the bathroom you have to wait for your checked luggage’s first which can take a while. When you exit the checked baggage pickup door, you can’t go back in since it says something like “exit only”. So basically you can’t use the bathroom first then get your bag. The food is decent, there’s places like Dunkin’ Donuts and a few other fast food chains. Service is okay. When you wait in line to go through security, there’s staff that promotes that if you sign up and pay for something you can skip the line. It kinda gets annoying when they keep repeating it. Other than that it’s a decent airport.

I had a very good experience with Turkish Airlines at Terminal 1.
The staff were polite, professional, and very helpful, and the overall service was excellent.

One small area that could be improved is the wheelchair assistance process.
It would be helpful to have a clearer and more organized system for calling passengers, so that the order of service is based on who is waiting first, second, and so on. This would make the process smoother and easier for both passengers and staff.

Overall, great service, and I appreciate the team’s efforts.

John F. Kennedy International Airport, affectionately called JFK, is the bustling gateway that connects New York City to the world.
From the moment you step off the plane, the sheer scale of the complex can feel overwhelming, yet the signage is surprisingly clear and multilingual.
Terminal 1 handles most international carriers, and its sleek, modern lobby offers a pleasant first impression with plenty of natural light.
Terminal 4, the newest addition, boasts a spacious airy design, a wide array of luxury shops, and an impressive art installation that makes waiting feel like a mini‑museum visit.
The infamous Terminal 5, home to Delta, feels like a city within a city, complete with a sprawling concourse, dozens of restaurants, and even a rooftop bar that offers stunning views of the runway.
Speaking of food, JFK has transformed its culinary scene, now featuring celebrity chef spots, authentic ethnic eateries, and classic New York bagel shops that satisfy any craving at any hour.
For travelers with a layover, the airport provides comfortable lounges, quiet zones, and even a small spa where you can unwind before the next flight.
Transportation to Manhattan has improved dramatically with the AirTrain linking all terminals to the subway and Long Island Rail Road, making a $8 ride into the city both quick and affordable.
Taxi queues are well‑organized, and the new ride‑share pickup areas reduce confusion, though peak hours can still cause a short wait.
Security lines have become more efficient thanks to advanced screening technology, and the staff are generally courteous, helping to keep the flow moving even during busy travel periods.
Wi‑Fi is free throughout the airport, and the mobile app offers real‑time flight updates, wayfinding, and even the ability to order food to your gate.
Despite occasional construction noise, the overall atmosphere is lively, with music, art, and a palpable sense that you are in one of the world’s busiest hubs.
Families will appreciate the dedicated play areas and nursing rooms, while business travelers benefit from numerous workspaces and meeting pods equipped with power outlets.
In short, JFK may have its chaotic moments, but its continuous upgrades, diverse dining options, and strategic location make it a solid entry point to the United States.

One of the busiest airport in the north east of USA and it’s just too big too handle airport . It’s the headache for the tsa and too many people arriving at this airport from across the Atlantic. Too diverse community and work place . A lot of food and items to choose from at this place. It’s not convenient to arrive or leave from there to New York . And the airport is too huge and it’s not connected correctly . One has to go out of airport to go to different terminal . The staff is not helpful and it might be cause it’s just too huge and busy always all time of year .

An incredible airport — huge, modern, and very well organized. There’s a great variety of shops, restaurants, and services for every taste. Everything is clearly marked, and the staff is friendly and helpful, making the travel experience smooth even during busy hours. Perfect for a layover, grabbing a nice coffee, or simply exploring. Truly one of the most complete and impressive airports in the world!

Even with some staff calling out because of the government shutdown, I’m truly grateful for those who showed up and kept things running. Traveling can be stressful, but they handled it with patience and professionalism. The lines here do get long, so give yourself plenty of time — being early makes a big difference. On the bright side, there are lots of food options and plenty of tables to sit, eat, and relax before your flight.
