Been coming here for years. Jin is a hole in the wall with a real cozy atmosphere, quick service and solid ramen, soba, and donburi bowls that always hit the spot.

Response from the owner

Thank you so much, Matt! It truly means a lot to have your support over the years 😊 We’re glad our ramen, soba, and donburi continue to hit the spot and that the cozy atmosphere keeps bringing you back. Looking forward to serving you again soon 🍜✨

First time diner but definitely will not be my last. We arrived on Saturday right before the afternoon rush. We ordered a few appetizers and Ramen bowls. Their Yuzu green lemonade is such a palette cleanse. My favorite appetizers were the Purple yam fries with this banging sauce in the side. The fried shumai were big and full of flavor. The Tuna ceviche I had as my entree with two sides of wonton chips sooooo tasty. Katsu was my least favorite no flavor profile at all. My partner had the chicharron ramen didn’t get a picture because someone didn’t wait lol. Ambiance is very authentic to the culture which I can appreciate.

Response from the owner

Thank you so much, Chrystal! We truly appreciate you taking the time to share such a detailed review 😊 We’re so happy you enjoyed the Yuzu Green Lemonade, Purple Yam Fries, fried shumai, and Tuna Ceviche. And yes… the Chicharron ramen disappears fast for a reason 😂

We also appreciate the honest feedback on the katsu and will share it with our kitchen team. Looking forward to welcoming you and your partner back again soon to explore more of the menu 🍜✨

I have always loved Jin Ramen! Excellent food, great staff and good choice of sake. But the reason I have to give only 4 stars is because I find it insulting to be charged $2.50 for extra side of corn which really only amounts to a small handful. That’s just ridiculous. Why?

I only gave the food to four star. This is probably my problem but they add a little bit too much broth and I don’t like that so that’s why I’m gonna give it a 4 star but other than that this is a really good authentic ramen shop. I loved it I would come back again.

Response from the owner

Thank you, always feel free to tell us your preferences when ordering.

I’ve been coming to Jin Ramen - West Harlem for a long time now, even traveling from New Jersey because we genuinely love the food and the atmosphere. The ramen is consistently great, and the vibe is always cozy and enjoyable.

That said, service can be hit or miss. During our most recent visit, our assigned server, Monsoul, wasn’t very welcoming. He didn’t say much, took a while to come over after seating us, and seated us directly in front of the door where all the cold air comes in. When I politely asked to move to an open seat that wasn’t occupied, he said no.

On a positive note, another server, Ricky, completely turned the experience around. He was super friendly, attentive, and offered us the seat we originally asked for without hesitation. He honestly did most of the service for us, even though he wasn’t our main server and had his own section (which Monsoul mentioned when I asked if anyone else could help). Ricky truly went out of his way to make sure we were taken care of, and it made a big difference.

Food-wise, everything was excellent as always. My favorite is the konkuni ramen (hope I spelled that right), and the atmosphere remains one of the reasons we keep coming back.

Overall, amazing food and ambiance — service just depends on who you get. Big shoutout to Ricky for exceptional service.

Response from the owner

Thank you so much for being a long-time guest and for traveling all the way from New Jersey to dine with us that truly means a lot to our team. We’re very happy to hear that you continue to enjoy the food and cozy atmosphere, especially the Konkuni ramen 😊

At the same time, we sincerely appreciate you sharing your honest feedback about the service during your most recent visit. That experience is not the standard we aim for, and we’ll be addressing this internally to ensure more consistent and welcoming service moving forward.

We’re also very glad to hear that Ricky stepped in and helped turn things around. We’ll be sure to recognize him for going above and beyond.

Thank you again for your support and for taking the time to share such detailed feedback. We truly look forward to welcoming you back and providing a consistently great experience next time.
It has taken a bit to get to this review, perhaps four months, however that means nothing compared to the quality of the meal, the places mastery of chefing, with their open kitchen, and smiles to go around for anyone who enters. I found their little customer card which was given to me by my server Monsur who was very attentive and pleasant. The chef, Hasan knows his craft well and it is simple to understand why the business moves along and is successful. A perfect chew of the noodles and flavorful bites down to drinking the broth as a last treat of the meal, shall be your way when you order their ramen dishes. The pork bun appetizer was also splendid, the balance of flavors was pinpoint.
Anyone who enjoys a lovely bowl of ramen and wants a fair price without waiting in a massive line in manhattan ought to visit this little hideaway.
Much love and success to JinRamen upper west in Harlem

Response from the owner

We’ll be sure to pass along your compliments to Monsur for his attentive service and to Chef Hasan for his dedication to the craft they’ll really appreciate it.

We’re especially happy to hear you enjoyed the noodles, broth, and pork bun, and that the balance of flavors stood out to you. Creating that kind of experience is exactly what we aim for.

Thank you again for your support and well wishes. We hope to welcome you back to Jin Ramen West Harlem again very soon.
The pork bun appetizer was so good that i ate them both before i remembered i wanted to take a picture. I love the ramen here its always delicious. Great broth very tasty ramen. However, i have continued to not love the service. They simply are not that attentive but if you are not super fragile the food makes up for any indiscretions with service. Will definitely be going back to try their flight of sakis.

Really enjoyed our lunch here! We did the lunch special where you get a choice of ramen or rice bowl, an appetizer and drink for $25. The food was delicious and high quality especially for the price. Highly recommend!

Can’t even explain how amazing my experience was here, the service was incredible, our server was always checking on us and willing to give recommendations. They have two different areas for dining,I thought it was only one area for dining, but they have more tables on the other side, portions were pretty good, they also have a lunch special menu, definitely coming back here!

Delicious spot, especially convenient for folks in West or Central Harlem, and right by the 125th St 1 train stop. I had the spicy tonkotsu ramen and a side of karaage, both of which were excellent. The ramen serving was generous in a rather large bowl. The chashu slices were very tender and a good thickness, and had a delicious sweet glaze on them. The broth was rich and the meal was filling without needing to order more noodles. Not cheap but not too expensive either, especially considering the high quality. I’m definitely planning to go back and try some other options. My food was served quickly after ordering, but I felt like the service after that wasn’t particularly attentive - no waiter checked in after I got my food, and I had to wait around for a while after finishing before I could get the check. Not a huge deal though, and the servers were still polite and the food was excellent.

Our server, Ricky, was wonderful! Super attentive, and fast service.
Ramen itself was decent. Noodles cooked well. Taste was ok. Not much chicken flavor in my broth. But overall, satisfactory

Service and food is great. The Chef Jefferson in the red hat is always very friendly and awesome in cooking. Monsur is very good in customer service and quick to server. Must come if you want to travel to Japan just for authentic ramen

Loved both ramen and fried rice. Fried rice seemed to be based on butter + soy sauce, and that’s my fav flavor base for fried rice so can’t complain at all.

Ramen had very good broth that was flavorful and thick enough, but not too salty and not too thick. I really liked its balance. Noodle was slightly softer than my preference and chasu was bit drier than I hoped, but the broth was really spot on for me and I would love to get the ramen here again if next chance.

Thank you so much
