Great experience! The ramen was absolutely delicious, with a rich, flavorful broth and perfectly cooked noodles. We tried both the Tokyo Shoyu Ramen and the Tonkotsu Ramen, and both were excellent.
Definitely worth a visit if you're in New York and love ramen.

3rd time coming here and it keeps getting better. Everything is perfect: from the hostess to the food, from the server to the paying system. Highly recommend the pork gyoza, the garlic-soy fried chicken, and the tokyo shiu ramen. Will definitely return.

If you haven’t made it to Ivan Ramen yet, let this be your sign. We started with the cauliflower appetizer — crispy, well-seasoned, and gone within minutes. The chicken ramen followed: a deep, soulful broth with noodles that had a perfect bite. Every component felt considered.
Bonus points for being genuinely easy with kids. The staff were warm, the pacing was right, and nobody felt rushed. Serious food, zero pretension. Highly recommended.

I’ve had ramen all over the city, but Ivan Ramen on the Lower East Side just set a new bar. We ordered three bowls and two sides, and honestly? Not a single miss.
The ramen stole the show. The classic tonkotsu was rich and deeply savory — those perfectly jammy soft-boiled eggs with their amber-orange yolks sitting in the broth like little jewels. The spicy bowl had a fiery red broth loaded with cilantro, sliced chilis, and a gorgeous scoop of what looked like house-made cream cheese or ricotta dusted with togarashi. Bold, complex, and dangerously slurpable. The vegetarian tofu bowl was no afterthought either — silken tofu, bok choy, and that same depth of flavor. Respect.
The charred potatoes were an unexpected standout — crispy, blackened edges, sitting in a creamy, spiced aioli with scallions and chili flakes. The kind of side dish you don’t expect at a ramen spot but immediately wish every ramen spot had.
The asparagus were blistered and glossy, tossed in a savory sauce with seeds and topped with a cool, spiced cream. Simple, but executed perfectly.
Outdoor seating on a nice day, quick QR ordering, and food that genuinely delivers — Ivan Ramen earns every bit of its reputation. Go hungry. Order everything.

Fantastic! Amazing! Spectacular! Give me 5 more locations right now!
Had a delightful evening here with friends dining in with a warm bowl of ramen. They had great gluten free options and the gf ramen noodles were SUPER tasty and chewy and great! I don't have enough good things to say about them. Oh, and that roasted tomato was to die for!

Response from the owner

Hiya, Allie! Thanks so much for your review. We value and appreciate it, and you!
The IRT

Small and cozy place, there is also a backyard but I didn’t have a chance to step out there. The ramens and the small appetizer were delicious. The menu was well curated and I saw some types of ramen that I ave haven’t seen at other places.

I stopped by Ivan Ramen last month as it was close to where I was staying in the LES. It did not disappoint. The space is small, but cozy and relaxed, and the servers were excellent and very attentive throughout the meal.

I ordered the tonkatsu ramen, which was very rich and flavorful. We also had the potato salad and pork buns which were both very good. Everything tastes fresh, portions are generous and the presentation is really nice.

For dessert, I highly recommend the ube pudding, it’s definitely one of the best ube desserts I’ve had.

If you’re in the Lower East Side and craving ramen, this is definitely a place worth stopping by.

Been wanting to check out this place for years and it was truly exceptional!
I enjoyed every drop of the chicken Paitan broth, extra crispy chicken karaage, and the gyoza.
Not to mention a kind and professional service from the waitress (we were a party of three sitting in the corner table by the window in the back right at noon on 2/22/26).
Thank you!

Hands down some of the most fantastic ramen I've eaten. Having visited Japan multiple times, I can confidently say this place is authentic and top-tier.

If you appreciate high-quality ramen, you have to eat here.

You absolutely have to try the Tonkotsu.
A must-visit!

I’ve been here 3-4 years ago and didn’t like it very much so I decided to come back and give it another try. I ordered the chicken ramen with extra egg on the side with an Ivan Palmer. The broth was pretty good, but on the saltier side. Not the biggest fan of their type of noodle, it reminds me a lot of soba, although chewier. The Ivan Palmer (iced tea + yuzu lemonade) just tasted like straight up lemon juice and nothing else, I was quite disappointed. Overall, a decent bowl of ramen, but I wouldn’t make the trip unless I was in the area and really wanted ramen. However, the service is very nice and friendly :)

One of the BEST ramen I've ever tried!

Before you come at me, I'm referring to a fully vegetarian/vegan ramen - it's hard to come across a delicious, hearty, packed with flavor broth (unless you go straight to the motherland).

We came here with a group of friends (shout out to our friend for bringing us here) and we sat in the quieter area to the back with the bench chairs. Loved this little room it's perfect for a cozy night with friends and definitely a lot quieter than the regular room. Of course, this place is pretty small to begin with but attention to detail, service and food flavors is what it's all about.

We started things off with the spicy kyuri pickles which were absolutely delicious. The rice vinegar is what gave it that perfect amount of punch without making you feel like you were eating salt and vinegar chips (which I LOVE). Spice level wasn't too spicy for me but it does have a kick.

Me and my husband ordered different ramens so we could try the different flavors and I'm SO glad we did. The veggie spicy miso red chili is what stole my heart and lives rent free in my taste buds (they too have a memory hehe). I think that dish was perfectly balanced without being overpowering or too spicy. The biggest amount of spice does sit at the bottom of the bowl and as I was siping my last bits of broth away that's when I noticed my pleasant little wake up call - which again for me it wasn't that spicy since I have a pretty high tolerance. IT WAS SO SO SO SO SO DELICOUS!

Hubby's ramen was out of this world in its own way. He ordered the truffled vegan shoyu and WOW. It was one of those broths that can stand alone and make your taste buds dance and go crazy. It was absolutely incredible and one slurp lead to the next.

Both of the ramen dishes were incredible - I personally don't eat eggs but even the eggs were beautiful.

Absolutely love this place and can't wait to go back. It's definitely a great spot during the winter to warm you up. Bowls are pretty generous and if you're hungry enough you'll eat it all. If you want to leave some room for dessert or grab something else in the area, then you're good to go if you share one. My greedy self would never at this spot but hey, you do you :)

One last thing, LOVED that everyone can pay for their own thing at your tables bill using the QR code to split and pay what you want. That way you don't have to awkwardly make your server do it for you and try to figure it all out while that one lemonade someone forgot to pay for etc haha. Super cool feature!

I don’t really understand the hype beyond the prime location. The ramen bowls are just okay — fine if you’re craving something comforting, but nothing special. The space is cute, but the atmosphere was a bit too rowdy for my taste.

I had one of the best meals I’ve had in NYC at Ivan Ramen. Every dish was a standout.
The small plates were perfectly balanced — the potato salad with roe was creamy, savory, and unexpectedly addictive.
The ramen itself was spectacular: rich broth, vibrant flavors, perfectly cooked noodles, and the soft-boiled egg was unreal. You can tell every component is made with intention.

From start to finish, everything was fantastic.

Response from the owner

On behalf of our entire chef team, thank you so much!!! There is intention, dedication, and heart behind every dish prepared for our amazing guests, whom we adore!
Thanks again, Ari, we appreciate you!

Appetisers were amazing, and service too! A bit of a disappointment as my Tokyo Shio ramen was very porky (yes, its a thing) and I wouldn't recommend it. Tonkotsu ramen was good, but nothing to write home about.
