Wow! I came here for brunch and was super happy with this choice. Food is amazing and service is kind and nice (though they kindly "invite you" to the exit after one hour and a half there lol). But I understand it.
I came here with my girlfriend and she has celiac, so I can reccommend it also for who has gluten free requirements.
I had the burger bun and it was AMAZING, as well as the avocado toast. I would definitely come back. First time I tried kangaroo meat and was positively surprised.
Also, I found it out later, but this is the same management as Hole in the Wall, which I also reccommend.

Response from the owner

Massimo, we're stoked you had such an amazing brunch experience with us! So glad the burger bun and avocado toast hit the spot, and that we could accommodate your girlfriend's gluten-free needs. Thanks for being understanding about our timing – we love having guests enjoy our space! Cheers, mate!

Juan is an outstanding waiter — always attentive, cordial, and respectful. He is very kind, friendly, and quick to respond to any request, which makes the dining experience at Isla & Co. even more enjoyable.

The only recommendation I would make is to add a baby changing table in the restroom, as it is truly indispensable for families with little ones.

Response from the owner

Thanks Paula for the kind words! We really appreciate the thoughtful feedback on adding a baby changing station - that's great insight that we'll be sure to look into. Our team strives to create a welcoming environment for all, so we're stoked you felt the positivity from Juan and enjoyed your overall experience. Looking forward to your next visit!

Food is so fresh and delicious. I had an Oatmilk cappuccino and their avo toast with soft scramble. Atmosphere is good, I’d opt to sit outside or further in the back in the future. We had Tobey as our server, he’s personable and helpful, love!

Response from the owner

We're so happy you loved the avo toast and cappuccino, Olivia! Thanks for the shoutout to Tobey – we'll be sure to pass along your kind words. We appreciate the seating tip and can't wait to welcome you back soon!

Excellent! Highly recommend for brunch. I had the avocado toast with an egg & bacon. My husband had the breakfast burrito. Both were delicious. Service was great. Cute atmosphere. We’d come back.

Response from the owner

Thanks for the love, Kara! We're so happy you both enjoyed your meals and had a great experience with us. Can't wait to see you back for brunch soon, mate!

Stopped in for a bit to eat before getting a tattoo across the street. Ordered the breakfast roll and kangaroo tucker. The breakfast roll was good, I beleive the sauce is a version of spicy mayo/ketchup. The kangaroo tucker was also very good, I would have liked a little more pickled onions to offset the herb tahini but that's just a personal preference (i love pickled onions). The host and waitress were great, very attentative.

Response from the owner

Thanks for stopping by before your tattoo, Scott! We're so happy you enjoyed the breakfast roll and kangaroo tucker. We love that you're a fellow pickled onion fan – we'll keep that feedback in mind! Our team will be thrilled to hear they took great care of you. Hope to see you again soon!

Wow! Wasn’t expecting to love it this much. This place was close to my hotel and my boyfriend and I just wanted a quick brunch spot but u was pleasantly surprised. Staff was super nice and I cannot remember the name of my waiter but he was very efficient and nice as well. Food was excellent and I feel the price was good especially given the area we were in where everything is usually super overpriced. Love it here and would go back anytime!

Response from the owner

Ann-Sophie, we're stoked you and your boyfriend discovered us during your stay! It sounds like we totally exceeded your expectations for what started as just a quick brunch stop. Thanks for the love - we can't wait to welcome you back anytime you're in the neighborhood!

Came here for Sunday brunch with a 1 PM resso for four people. It's located inside the lobby of a hotel. It's an Australian brunch spot, so some of the menu items have an Aussie twist to it, but you still also have some of your regular brunch items. I wanted to try the kangaroo skewers but I knew I was alone in this, so I ended up getting the Sausage Rolls (thai spiced pork mince, puff pastry, sweet chili sauce) and a side of Chicken Salt Fries. The sausage rolls were good but I guess they're on the "for the table" section for a reason. After a few, it gets to be a bit much. I was deciding between the sausage rolls and the Crispy Chicken Sando. After trying a bite of my friend's chicken sando, I immediately regretted not getting it. The fries were good - they're battered fries, which I love.

I saw a few tables that had an espresso martini flight, which looked cool. Will have to come back next time for that, the chicken sando, and someone who is willing to split the kangaroo skewers with me.

Response from the owner

Thanks for the great feedback, Melanie! We're stoked you enjoyed the sausage rolls and those crispy fries - they're definitely a crowd favorite. Sounds like you've got your next visit all planned out with the chicken sando and espresso martini flight! We're here whenever you find that adventurous dining buddy for the kangaroo skewers. Can't wait to see you back soon!

We came here for brunch and ordered the smashed avocado toast and kimchi sambal scramble — both were really good and flavorful. The food was definitely the highlight. Service could use a little improvement, and the location was a bit confusing since it’s at the entrance of a hotel. The atmosphere wasn’t something we liked

Response from the owner

Thanks for the feedback! We're stoked you loved the smashed avocado toast and kimchi sambal scramble - those flavors really are something special! We hear you on the service and atmosphere, and we're always working to make every visit even better. Hope to see you back soon for another delicious brunch!

The espresso martini tower was great, and so was the kangaroo and truffle fries. I was disappointed by the bread on the avocado toast and all the dishes felt like they needed some salt. Service was really lacking when we went. We weren’t greeted for a while and it took forever to get our drinks (plain coffee, soda, water). Apps came out at the same time as the meal. I’d love to try this place again for dinner or when they’re better staffed.

Response from the owner

Thanks for the feedback, Payal! We're stoked you loved the espresso martini tower and kangaroo with truffle fries - those are some of our favorites too! We're sad to hear the service and timing didn't hit the spot during your visit. We'd love to make your next experience perfect, so please give us another shot for dinner. Can't wait to have you back!

We had been meaning to try this spot for a while and like that it a quiet respite in midtown. The high ceiling gives the restaurant a very airy quality. There is something for everyone on the menu I think whether vegetarian or not, drinking cocktails/beer/wine or coffee and tea, and a mix of food options from salads to sandwiches to pasta. I like some of the Australian touches like half the wines are from Australia, options Tim Tam add-on, and kangaroo skewers but the restaurant was out of kangaroo when we went. While a lot of places in midtown try to move you quickly, service here is slower and possibly nicer for catching up with friends. Food is ok. We ordered our steak frites medium rare and it came practically well done. The OG burger had bacon that was so hard we had to leave bits of it on the plate and saw others left it too. I would probably try this place for brunch and hope the food is cooked a little better and not out of things.

Response from the owner

Thanks for the feedback, Jaye! We're glad you enjoyed the airy atmosphere and variety on our menu. We're sad to hear your meal didn't hit the spot with the steak and burger preparation. Please reach out to us at hello@isla-co.com so we can make things right. We'd love to make your next visit a perfect one - brunch sounds like a great idea!

Update: We decided to return to try more of the menu. Unfortunately, our second visit wasn’t as successful as the first. The breakfast burrito was enjoyable, but the fried chicken sandwich fell short—the bun was dry.
I wish the pudding came with more sauce.

Really generous portions for a reasonable price. The cheesecake waffle was perfectly mild, with just the right amount of sweetness.
Everything was just amazing—definitely worth trying!

Response from the owner

Mate, you’ve set the bar high with this review. We are glad you enjoyed your visit and can't wait to welcome you back for more!

I had a really lovely experience at Isle & Co. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere felt welcoming. Even the text messages they send are nice and friendly!

Our waiter, who was from New Zealand, was genuinely kind, attentive, and made the brunch feel personal without being overbearing.

We started the meal with bubbly and the food throughout was very good. Everything felt well thought out and balanced. To finish, we did the espresso martini tasting set. The banana version was our favorite!

Overall, a great experience with good food, lovely service, and a comfortable vibe. I would definitely go back and happily recommend it.

Response from the owner

Thanks Nathalie! We're so happy you felt at home with us and loved the brunch vibes. Can't wait to welcome you back soon!

The food, cocktails and friendly service were great. We came in for a late lunch, to try their expresso martini flights and their Australian food. Everything was delicious. It happened to be Happy Hour from 3-6 so we ordered some appetizers to share along with unique martini flights. So good!

Response from the owner

So stoked you had a great time, Pamela! Feedback like yours makes our day. Come back soon for more good times!

What a great breakfast! I ordered the breakfast sandwich and I was a little skeptical because I had a hash brown potatoes on the sandwich, but it was absolutely outstanding. Much better than what I anticipated.
My wife had the avocado toast and she very much Enjoyed that. Service was very attentive and punctual.

Response from the owner

Hey Steve! So stoked to hear you loved that breakfast sandwich - we knew those hash brown potatoes would win you over! Glad your wife enjoyed the avocado toast too. We appreciate you giving us a shot and can't wait to have you both back soon!
