Very disappointing experience. After a 5+ hour flight for a business trip, I checked in late at night and was given a room that was already occupied — someone was sleeping inside!!!<br><br>The replacement room was right next to the front desk, and I could hear staff conversations and noise all night. I had meetings the next morning and ended up sleeping only about 3 hours.<br><br>I contacted IHG customer service afterward. They told me they would provide compensation and asked me to wait a few days, but nothing ever happened.<br><br>Mistakes happen, but the way this was handled afterward was extremely disappointing.

This was one of the best hotel experiences I’ve ever had. The rooms are clean, and location is great. More importantly, the staff made it from good to great. Check-in took less than 1 minute, and they went above and beyond during my stay.<br>Definitely coming back.

The experience is extremely NYC. Nestled in Chelsea, which is a perfect spot & the stereo types are real. Hustle & bustle exist during the free breakfast. Alanna at the front desk is incredibly sweet, helpful & professional. Management, hey Moe!, are quick to respond to all issues small or large. Parking was what you’d expect for daily valet service. You’re in NYC, expect it’s expensive. Loved the hotel & experience.

The description says there is a full service laundry but there isn’t any laundry room. The gym is pretty small has a few free weights and a bench, the treadmill belt was broken. The rooms are very small. It says two queen beds but expect two twin beds. The front desk staff was nice and the location is pretty good though.

I had a four-night reservation (res number 6727280930) booked through Booking.com, but due to snowstorm, all flights were officially canceled. This was completely beyond my control. I informed the hotel immediately through Booking.com and requested to shorten my stay to two nights instead of canceling entirely. They refused any refund and did not even respond to my message.<br>There are more important things in hospitality than a good location, clean rooms, or comfortable beds — especially how you treat people during extraordinary situations. Zero flexibility, zero empathy, and extremely poor communication. Very disappointing and unprofessional.

Truly cannot recommend this hotel enough. The location is perfect for exploring and getting arojnd the city, but isn’t loud at all. Rooms were plenty big and very nice for the price. They do so many little things well - the breakfast, the cookies, the wine hour<br><br>Service was absolutely phenomenal. It was better than we’ve gotten at luxury places. Every single person we talked to was extremely helpful and accomadating. Mo, the manager, was especially great - he helped us sorr through our reservation when we had to change it due to weather. Everyone went above and beyond - we will definitely be coming back!

Came from San Diego, booked through Expedia.<br>Will say the front desk girl is very nice. (Short hair glasses I think)<br>I will say the cleaning services are amazing. We would come back and our room would be nice and tidy. The elevators suck! Lol pray you get a room on the first floor or you’ll wait 5 minutes for a ride.<br>I did not appreciate the fact that I called prior to see if we can hold our luggage until check in since I had a red eye and a gentleman answered who said only if lockers are available and if there’s room, I was so annoyed I just paid $20 for a bodega to watch my bags when I got to hotel it was a whole pile of suitcases then I was gas lit that I called the wrong holiday in when I did not LOL so that really pmo.<br>They charge you an extra $139 that makes no sense for the first day.why did I pay the 139 for the first day ? When everything was included on Expedia… I paid $40 for early check in when they said $35<br>They do not charge you until you leave and turn in key. The rooms have very thin walls and you can hear everything. What I paid for is what I got for sure. About $800 for 4 days.<br>Area was nice and accessible.<br>Probably won’t be back. But yah affordable for sure. Also my friend checked in the next day and the guy said for them not to smoke and that the smoke alarms are sensitive and can detect vapes and marijuana , not sure why they told them that because of their looks? But I wasn’t told that so that’s weird to say to folks.

We had a great stay here and the staff was extremely friendly! The location is perfect and close to a lot of things to do. We did have a small issue, but the staff worked with us to get it resolved. Everyone treated us great including the general manager Ahmed and Mohamed who is the front desk manager. I really appreciated their customer service and would recommend this hotel in the future.

My wife and I spent last weekend at this hotel and we are very pleased. We were able to upgrade our room and get checked in earlier than expected. The room was small but comfortable plus we were only there to sleep and shower. Other than that, we were out exploring the city on our first trip to NYC. The staff was amazing and a special shotout to the young lady whose name starts with a J...sorry I forgot her name. She was amazing with us. She was very friendly and her customer service was the best! The breakfast was very satisfactory and when we asked for a toothbrush, towels or tp, they accomidated us. We did call and ask for more pillows and were told they would be sent up to our rooms however that didn't happen. Overall we are very satisfied and would consider staying here again. Thank you Holiday Inn Express Chelsea for your hospitality and a special thank you to the young lady that helped us out when we checked in. Give her a raise!!!

Great place to stay for the price. Rooms are comfy and staff are so ever friendly. My only (and small) complaint is that there is no mini fridge in the room. But overall I would stay here again.

The hotel is clean and a decent location but we were kept up all night long with people screaming and running through the hallways I called the front desk both nights and nothing was done about this issue. They claimed to tell the “manager” but we never heard anything. Also had to call the front desk multiple times about no hot water for a shower. Anyone can come into the lobby and sit in the lobby and enter the elevators there is no doorman or security at the front door.

If I could leave zero stars I would. I have in writing on my confirmation that I could cancel my reservation until 6pm the day of check in without being charged. I cancelled around 8am the day of check in. My cancellation email clearly says free cancellation.<br><br>The hotel charged me anyway. They are saying that their cancellation policy is the day prior to check in. The hotel manager is refusing reimbursement. Corporate employees are no help and continue to tell me to contact the hotel manager.<br><br>Do not stay here they have shifty business practices and will not honor their written policies. I will be filing a charge back.<br><br>ETA: they also sent this charge without any receipt. I only noticed when I checked my statement. They are still refusing to send any written confirmation of the charge - probably because they know they are in the wrong. So, now I can’t file to expense it with my company in the event that the charge back isn’t accepted.

Excellent stay! Clean, comfy room and spotless bathroom. Loved the unlimited free bottled water & coffee in the lobby. Safe, ideal location and less than a 10-minute walk to Penn Station.<br><br>No issue of waiting for lifts and friendly staff. Great value in New york & we ppwould stay again!

I stayed there for the NY Marathon 2025 from 10/31 to 11/3/2025. The staff was great: One lady from the front desk added a refrigerator to my room on Friday 10/31/25 around 9am. The staff in the breakfast cafeteria is awesome: Couple of Dominican 🇩🇴 workers, who are the best!! At check out time, Alaina, at the Front Desk booked a taxi for me and was great at explaining me my options. Housekeeping Dept. was also very efficient!! I would come back and try this property. Keep up with the good work!!!

Beds are super comfy. Location is fantastic if you are traveling from Penn Station. Street noise isn’t too bad on the 12th floor facing the garden. Staff is mixed. Horrible and wonderful. Gerald being a “wonderful” version as well as Alanna — lots of noise in the hallways. Noisy people stay in this hotel. We needed fast and easy for a night before heading to Penn station so we went with this economical option. You get what you pay for…
