A super casual super cute bar with great service, great mixed drinks, beer and a surprisingly delicious traditional hand formed beef burger. Great also to meet new people. Diverse crowd which I love. Not pretentious at all at this joint. Come as you are be yourself.

*There are better places in NY for wine if that's what you are looking for .

If you find yourself in New York, I’m begging you to do yourself a favor and visit Harlem Public. This has been on my NY restaurant must-visit list for a while, and we finally made it happen.

We started with their creamy, indulgent, absolutely unreal Mac and Steez—baked in a cast iron skillet and topped with a golden, crispy breadcrumb layer.

Next up was their chicken sandwich—juicy, packed with flavor, and fried to perfection. My fiancé ordered the sweet and savory peanut butter burger and immediately claimed it was the best one he’s ever had.

To wash it all down, I enjoyed a chilled margarita with the most aesthetically perfect salted rim.

Harlem Public truly packs a punch with flavors that are honestly insane. If you’re in NYC, the subway trip is absolutely WORTH IT.
This was our first visit here and we plan to return. The burger was delicious! My partner had the BBLT and it was tasty too. I also had the Spicy Passion and I would love to have a few more. The service was great!
I rarely leave reviews, but after the service I received, I just had to share my experience.

I originally placed an order for Harlem Public through Grubhub, and there were a few discrepancies with the order. Jo actually called me to clear things up, which I really appreciated. Then, for some strange reason, my order ended up getting canceled. I called Harlem Public to figure out what had happened, and Jo worked with me to try and sort it out. She suggested placing the order directly through their website instead.

She even texted me afterward to make sure everything went through smoothly and left a wonderful message on my bag when the order arrived. Her service was truly impeccable, and I genuinely appreciated the extra care she took.

Bonus: the veggie patty melt was delicious!

Thank you again to Jo for the amazing service, and to the kitchen staff for taking such great care of my order. I can’t wait to order again. Five stars all around
Sean immediately greeted us and offered us the best seat in the house on a fabulous afterwork impromptu. Followed by Steven’s yummy recommendations on the best food and drinks of the menu. It’s a must go to spot on a night you need to wind down and hang with your people’s! Sean and Steven is a tag team you wouldn’t want to miss. They definitely take care of you !
BYO Burger is the way to go. They are very stingy with their sauce on other items (fried chicken sandwich came with less than a teaspoon of sauce, plus the chicken itself tasted unseasoned). Was very disappointed to waste money on this sandwich and not even be able to finish it.

However, the burgers and fries are delicious, if a bit pricey. I won't make a mistake ordering other items again!
Took my brother here before he left back to Cali... We started about 5pm but by 7, the place got packed for a Wed night. I always like to try either different beer or cider and this time I tried the Black Widow Cider which was delicious. The food was good nothing spectacular but good for gastropubs. Cool place to kick back with friends and enjoy some good drinks and food. Place gets pretty loud so be prepared to talk loudly even when the person is on the other side of table
An amazing neighbourhood spot, with hangover brunch food, awesome cocktails, and a fun feel. We’ve come many times and it’s a really great experience. The service is at times slightly slow, but servers are friendly, and the food is excellent.

Edited Nov 2025 with more photos: we still love coming here, and while the Doritos quesadilla remains among the all-time favorites, the peanut butter burger was great and the Irish coffee martini was excellent.
Was on the way out the city. Decided to stop and grab some food a little later in the night around 11 pm stumbled on Harlem Public. Great atmosphere, great music, great service. Grabbed some wings and fries. Awesome wings, good size wings, crispy, really good sauce. Only let down was the fries bunch of little pieces, might have been because we were there a little late. But overall great experience. Will visit again.
We ordered 3 burgers and they were fine but one was not at its temperature. We ordered a dorito quesadilla order, it was very tasty, I recommend it. In delivery the colors were cold but if you eat on the site it would be better.
This was a nice little spot for a casual dinner. They have a decent selection of craft beers on tap and a good menu of pub food including some creative burgers. I got the peanut butter. My first time having peanut butter on a burger but have to say, along with the ample bacon, it compliments it quite nicely. Nice big beefy burger as well. The tater tots are quite good too - nice and crunchy. I’d come back if in the neighborhood
I love this place. Such an amazing safe neighborhood feel. The good is always comforting. I’ve had the Parmesan Burger before and loved it. Chicken and Waffles are super. I had the Grilled Cheese and chicken chunks on my last visit and both were top notch bar food choices. I go here about once a month.

I usually get to see cute Price when I’m there who is super charming and welcoming. I forget her name, but the female server that’s an actress is mad sweet and easy on the eyes. 😻.

This place is LGBTQIA friendly. And a great first date spot with no pressure and you won’t feel guilty about picking up the check.
I randomly came here one day after work. The service, the food and the drinks were great. My puppy tagged along so I sat outside to eat. I ordered the purple rain drink and the chicken tenders. My bf and his friend ordered burgers. Yo, the chicken tenders was the BEST tenders I ever had. And as for the drink, it was so good and so smooth. I loved it. I recommend coming here on a day after work.
So we decided to come to @harlempublic on a last-minute idea, and you knew the Bodegafatboys were gonna order something delicious. Anywho we've been here numerous amount of times and decided to feature one of our favorite places which is Harlem Public! The food here never disappoints portion sizes are great and the combinations they offer with these meals are slightly unheard of. (I'll give you an example of what I mean below) What I love about coming here with the crew everyone always leaves out here with a smile. I've never had one bad experience here at all great tasting food, cheap drinks! Despite eating here during a pandemic we have to deal with outdoor dining so mostly everything is served in a plastic solo to go Tupperware. It's unfortunate you won't get to see these beautiful dishes presented properly the way the chef intends you to see his creations. Overall regardless if it's in a too-go plastics food still tastes top notch and will always support this local business.
.
.
.
So here are the food menu items we ate before and what's in them.
.
.
.
.
1. Maple butter fried 🐔. Crispy fried thigh, brown sugar bacon NY cheddar, drippy egg on maple butter brioche.

2. Honey Sriracha wings

3. Dorito Quesadilla. Chicken breast, Dorito cream cheese spread

4. Mac & Steez Chorizo
.
Pretty far place for those living outside Manhattan but I would definitely recommend it if you’re around the area.

I got the popular peanut butter signature burger and the fried chicken thigh. Both really tasty but I’ve had better fries, esp the sweet potato fries.

The place is pretty packed but has a lively vibe to it. Remember they have brunch on weekends until 3 pm; and theres a 1 hr gap until the kitchen is ready for dinner again at 4 pm.
