I'm going to sound a little crazy when I say this but in times of need (of delicious Asian food) I go to H Mart to grab all the goodies we crave with my family. Our local store is currently closed so we've been locked out from doing regular shopping at an Asian market... Yes, I know there are alternatives and I tried them but I got dissatisfied with the products quality and variety and I guess I wasn't the only one, these 2 particular stores near me shut down within a year of opening. The timing was perfect since the big local H mart is closed and has been for about a year now but I see people seek anther H Mart store instead. I am one of those, I have been to this store a couple of time and the only issue I always have is the parking situation. Mainly it's caused by lots of people coming here so not sure what can be done to improve that experience. Besides that, this little store has everything I need every time and pricing wise, it isn't the best but also not the worst either. I recommend it to anyone who asks for a good place to buy fresh, frozen and ready made meals.

First, the conclusion: there is a very interesting observation. Although this is a Korean supermarket , in reality, the Spanish-speaking staff here are much better than the Korean staff.<br><br>In particular, the older Korean ladies working as cashiers and the Korean male staff at the front desk all have noticeably poor attitudes, one worse than the other.<br>I went to this H-Mart today to do some grocery shopping, and I accidentally lost a small paper pouch that contained my credit cards. Since I live nearby, I returned immediately and asked the Spanish cashier who had checked me out. She said she hadn’t seen it.<br><br>Because it had only been a short time, I thought that most customers at H-Mart are generally polite, and if someone had found it, they would likely have turned it in to store staff. So I went to ask a male employee standing at the very front of the checkout area. He was positioned on a raised platform above the cash registers, near the glass exit doors. This area is typically used for membership sign-ups and customer service support rather than regular checkout, so I understand this employee is likely in a supervisory or management-type role.<br><br>I would like to point out this employee’s behavior. When I first told him that I had lost my wallet and asked if anyone had turned it in, he immediately replied “No” in an impatient tone. I then tried to add that it was a very noticeable red pouch (similar to a red envelope), just to help identify it more clearly. However, he again responded by dragging out “No” in a very dismissive and unpleasant tone.<br><br>This attitude made me feel very uncomfortable and disappointed. I do not understand why such behavior would be acceptable in a customer-facing service role, especially at a store like H-Mart, which is generally known for good customer service. Positions like this should be held by patient and respectful individuals.

I live in the Bronx but I cross the bridge at least bi-monthly to get the army soup from the adjoining food court. It’s become a comfort food and once we are done we walk around to pick up groceries. The verity is great and we always grab something new to try. The produce is always fresh and the staff is friendly. This H Mart has everything - even beauty some beauty supplies.
I felt profiled today. Security blocked my path and demanded my receipt as I was leaving. Once he saw everything was fine, he just walked away without a single word—no "thank you," no "sorry."<br>Being treated like a criminal and then ignored is unacceptable. This H Mart has zero respect for its customers. Absolute lack of basic courtesy.

Hands down my favorite supermarket. I am always getting my favorite items here and trying new foods. It never gets boring to shop here. Always something new to try if you want to explore food outside your own culture
Unbelievable experience. I bought food from inside Hmart — pastries and coffee from Paris Baguette and ready-to-eat meals from the supermarket — and simply sat in the food court to enjoy my lunch. No one was even sat at the tables and it wasn’t busy but a lady suddenly approached me and said only restaurant customers could sit there. So I went to eat in my car. I’ve never been treated so unfairly for just trying to eat the food I paid for. Discriminatory and rude — shame on this place!

Five stars for H Mart Bayside. It’s consistently clean, organized, and packed with quality: crisp veggies, a solid seafood section, well-cut meats (including marinated BBQ favorites), and an excellent selection of banchan and kimchi. The aisles have everything from pantry staples (gochujang, ramen, rice) to fun snacks and frozen items, plus plenty of ready-to-eat meals when you don’t feel like cooking. Staff are helpful and restocking is frequent, so things feel fresh. Pro tips: visit on weekdays to avoid crowds, bring a reusable bag, and don’t skip the prepared foods for an easy dinner.
This HMart is on the smaller side and doesn’t have as much variety as other locations. The seafood section looks decent, but the parking lot is pretty small too. Walking through the whole store felt quick, almost like “that’s it?”
I make my own sushi at home so this place has been fantastic for me because their sushi grade fish is excellent. Yes, it's pricey but not as pricey as going to a restaurant and the quality is great. Nice selection of roe too. Their produce section is good although more organic options would be nice. Most of the staff aren't the friendliest but sadly that's par for the course in most Asian markets- it's not in their culture I'm guessing.
Don't buy the steak the manager recommends! It's full of meat and blood! It must have been thawed from the freezer, so it's so bloody! It's tough and dry! It's pure torture! It hurt my teeth when I bit into it! Look at the picture below, so much blood!

As a regular customer of H Mart, I visited this H Mart today and found that it was actually a scam. I spent $23.99 on pig's trotters, but there were a lot of pig bones in it, which accounted for a large part. Moreover, they put the seasonings at the bottom and the meat on top to make it look like there was a lot of it. But in fact, there was only so little. This is really a big scam.

Been coming here for years!! I just love this place. Organized, clean, insane variety of Korean goods. Fresh fish, beautiful fruits and veggies, fun samples to try, friendly employees. I love their Paris Baguette kiosk and their little sit down restaurant off the side. I always come for 1 thing and leave with 20!!
Lots of Japanese products, fresh looking meats. Very nice produce and seafood section. They also have a great little coffee area with cakes
I’ve been going there since it opened. It’s a little pricey but the food is good. The meat is fresh daily and is always busy.
Public bathroom is nice. Much bigger than Great Neck location. Super fast cashiers like no tomorrow. Large parking space.
