Saturday evening,Very rude women, I was like ‘can I please get the spoons’? She was showing me again and again that I didn’t mention that in my online order that I need spoons… instead of giving me the spoons she was being rude and telling me blaaa blaaa…
she is here to decrease the customers through her behavior…will never visit that branch again

Food tastes decently good but thats about it tbh.
Always feels like this place is understaffed, food takes a while and always one person prepping the food.
The food stations also dont seem coean when you look through the viewing area, idk how hygenic that is but it just seems messy. They def need some work on the customer service side of things. Maybe thats when i’d give em more stars.

Was nice. Huge portion. We tried both the beef and chicken classics. We preferred the beef over the chicken. Service was nice.

For a Chain it's very reliable quality Doner. The fact that it's halal is amazing. And the one in Astoria is actually slightly more affordable than the long island branch and usually has random coupons that keep them competitive. For a Fast food Style Shawarma chain it can't go wrong.

The food was alright, but not exactly the best—it didn’t have much flavour. It’s worth giving it a shot, but it’s not something I’d go back for. I had the donor plate with mixed meat and curry fries, and the portion wasn’t huge, but I’m curious about the sandwich. I might just go back to try that.

Ordered from Uber Eats small fries portion, garlic sauce doesn’t taste good, and the mixed doner kebabs are barely edible…tried forcing myself to eat it since ordered it but can’t finish it - feeling sick when I take a bite. Regret ordering from here - 1st and last time. Go to Döner Haus instead. Wasted $32.16.

Update: okay I thought my mind was playing tricks thinking the meat was raw, but reading other reviews others have had the same issue - that’s dangerous can get food poisoning! DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE!

Walked passed this place dozens of times and finally decided to drop in. Upon walking in Yami gave off a welcoming aura and was very kind.
I had the original Doner Kebab, and it was delightful - meat was sliced thin but remained tender and juicy. Massive portions to boot.

Doner empanadas were a bit of a letdown - flavor was alright but they were exceptionally greasy, and much makes me think the frying temperature was too low.

Empanadas aside this place is absolute worth a visit - unique atmosphere, excellent Doner, and exceptional service. I wish I had stopped in here sooner!

The German Doner was very good at the beginning, but now they are one of the worst. If you want to waste your money and risk getting sick, go ahead they are serving raw chicken. 🤮🤢😷
I also have two photos to share as proof.

I get the Flamin’ Fries pretty often from here, but I don’t know what’s been happening lately. I got them today and they were stale, dry, and tasted old. This is actually the second time — the last time I got them, they were the same way, but I thought it was just a bad day. Turns out it wasn’t. It’s honestly unbelievable how bad they were, like they’d been sitting out or reheated from days ago. This is unacceptable.

2 for 1 Tuesdays is Unbeatable! And their mains are quite delicious in their own right! I loved seeing the towering schwarma, and I enjoyed eating every bite of the chicken wrap. Iceberg lettuce isnt my favorite ingredient, would be my only critique of this place. Otherwise, I'm excited to come back and try their extra protein option and sides!

Delicious quality meat here served up German Doner style. All the meats & toppings are laid out in front of you. Establishment is very clean & the staff is friendly.

I got the boss box as it's the most bang for your buck deal. Their meats are so tender and juicy words don't do it justice, you just have to try it for yourself. Cheesefries were nice and cheesy and soft. Give them a shot.

If you’re craving doner kebab in Astoria, German Doner Kebab serves up flavorful, high-quality meat that’s worth trying. I had both the beef and chicken gyro combo, and the meat was the best part—juicy, well-seasoned, and cooked just right (8/10). However, I wasn’t crazy about the condiments, and the pita was different from the traditional style, which wasn’t to my liking. While it wasn’t my favorite gyro overall, the quality of the meat stands out. Next time, I might customize my order for a better fit, but if you’re looking for a solid gyro spot in Astoria, it’s still worth checking out.

If I were to choose a restaurant to get food from with my eyes closed, 'German Doner Kebab' will be one of those restaurants.

Tried them for the first time a few days ago and was struggling to pick an item from their huge menu. Front of house was handled by Joanna that morning, and man she did such an amazing job! One of the most cheerful staff I've ever encountered at a restaurant, especially in NYC, and if I'm returning to any location of German Doner Kebab, then all credit goes to Joanna. She needs to be promoted ASAP.

Joanna suggested I get the Doner Panini (as I said I was looking for an option that wouldn't be too heavy but would still be fulfilling). I got the Doner Panini with Chicken, Flaming Fries with yogurt sauce (recommended by Joanna, again Kudos!) Chocolate Waffle Bread and a bottle of juice.

The Doner Panini has undoubtedly become my favorite. I was tired of the same Chicken over Rice at all halal locations, and this item was an incredible refresher for me. The Flaming Fries tasted great, the yogurt sauce was a brilliant addition (will be back to try the other sauces). Also, I'd suggest eating the Chocolate Waffle Bread while its warm, as that's when you get the best taste.

I'd recommend dining there as the atmosphere is very cozy.

Some pictures were not very good as I was traveling and eating! But man the taste, you need to TRY THEIR FOOD ASAP.

It's SO GOOD. The service is amazing. You can dine in and order from register, and then they will bring you your food. It's amazing. I need to come back. I got the gym box, and the meat is SO GOOD. For lunch, it you get one of the boxes, it comes with a free drink. There's so much variety with the drinks, too. Great place to eat alone, take to go, and have late nights.

First time trying out this place. Wow really good from start to finish. Nice, fresh and very tasty. Service is pretty quick too. I got the junior burger with fries, mixed meat. Good portion for 1 person. Will be returning thanks!!
