It's a wonderful park, with truly unique views of Manhattan. And it's only getting better every year. A ferry service is a fun way to travel to or back. And it's great that some part of the history of the old port there is preserved. There are also a lot of great restaurants in the area and fun concerts in the summertime

Great walk. Beautiful views. Did First day walk with guide provided by nys parks, interesting and informative.
A beautiful
urban oasis, easily accessible by public transport and walking - we come from Astoria, Queens by taking the N train to Queensboro plaza then walking the rest of the way through lovely Long Island City that has undergone amazing improvements for the better in the last 3 decades.
There’s so much to do here in the park. You can sit down to look at the river and the stunning views across the water, go for a walk along the winding paths, watch people play beach volleyball or kids running around, laugh at the many dogs having a field day, take a ferry or have a picnic… the choice of having a beautifully peaceful time is yours!
Amazing view of NYC. Good place for running next to water front. Lots of benches for picnic and hanging around
This park is incredibly peaceful and offers plenty of things to do. There’s a playground for kids, a dog park, and sand volleyball courts—perfect for playing year-round, though especially fun in the summer. It’s also a very popular route for runners, and I can see why—it’s spacious, clean, and relaxing.

From my point of view, it has some of the best views of the Manhattan skyline. The sunsets here are absolutely stunning and worth staying for. A perfect place to unwind, exercise, or just enjoy the scenery.
This park is a must visit if you’re a native New Yorker or visiting. This is the top location for city and sunset views NYC. The park and waterfront has been finished beautifully and is always kept clean and smell free. The park also covers about half a mile of Long Island city’s gorgeous waterfront.
The park is on the river bank, and you have the skyline of New York City in front of you. You can appreciate some history of the city when seeing the heavy unloading machinery on the edge of the bank. Food festival is another attraction. Very nice casual place inside a busy, crowded urban city.
A beautiful, lovely park. Visiting Gantry Plaza park felt healing as the place was significantly less crowded than the ones in Manhattan. It was also a plus that the park offered some awestruck view of the skylines. It’s a must-see place to visit when the weather’s nice.
Much of the crowd is by northern end. The bottom half of the park is largely empty, but still fairly nice.
The pathways and park is very well maintained with many exploring the riverside scenery.
The view from the Hunter point library is quite spectacular.
beautiful park with amazing views. very safe as i seen many police and park rangers. relaxing chairs. you can see many iconic building including the chrysler building and empire state. you can take a ferry as well for 4.50$. i took it to brooklyn bridge or the dumbo ferry port for even better views
Located in the Hunters Point section of Long Island City, Queens, this 12‑acre riverside state park sits along the East River with sweeping views of Midtown Manhattan, including the Empire State Building and the United Nations headquarters.

Opened in May 1998, the park was developed in stages. Its restored gantries—once used to load and unload freight rail cars—are a prominent feature and nod to the area's industrial past.

The northern section was formerly a Pepsi bottling plant. The neon Pepsi‑Cola sign, dating back to 1939, was moved here in 2009 and is now a New York City landmark (since 2016).

.
Beautiful park right on the water, with great views of the skyline. A perfect place for photography. There are plenty of people enjoying the space but it didn't feel crowded. Highly recommend watching the sunset across the city from here.
I love this park! The scenic view is amazing and relaxing. Great place to take the kiddos. The only thing is that they don’t keep the bathroom clean but other than that I love this park!
It is a beautiful place to walk / sit and enjoy the beautiful skyline view.
Go on a cool day, and the vibe is just amazing.
There are people walking their dogs, some are exercising, someone is playing music, you name it, and it's happening. It's such a scenic, happy place.
Don't forget to take a picture with the Pepsi cola sign.
We took a ferry to visit here, so I've no idea about parking
Breathtaking views of the Manhattan skyline! Perfect spot for a picnic or sunset viewing. The park's waterfront location offers stunning views of the new york city, making it a must-visit for photography enthusiasts.
Love the walking and biking paths along the waterfront! Great way to enjoy the outdoors and get some exercise. The park's playground and sports facilities are top-notch, making it an excellent spot for families. Kayaking and paddleboarding rentals are available, offering a unique perspective on the city. There are plenty of seating areas, restrooms, and food vendors make for a comfortable and enjoyable visit.
The park's events and programming, such as outdoor concerts and movie screenings, are a great bonus. Highly recommend for a relaxing afternoon stroll. Great spot for a picnic, walk, or bike ride along the waterfront.
