Absolutely loved my dinner tonight at Fumo Harlem! The crispy chicken Alfredo was incredible. Perfectly crispy chicken, rich creamy Alfredo sauce, perfectly cooked pasta, and the fresh Parmesan on top made it even better. The garlic bread was also amazing and paired perfectly with the pasta.

The atmosphere was warm, lively, and welcoming, and the restaurant was packed for a reason. The staff was kind, attentive, and made the whole experience feel comfortable and relaxed.

I’m brand new to the neighborhood and Fumo is literally about 500 feet from my front door, and honestly… this is already my go-to spot now. Definitely a 5-star experience and I will absolutely be back! 😉
Went to Fumo for the first time, and it was a great experience. The staff was very friendly and on top of it. The spicy calamari was so good. The chicken parm was pretty standard but still hit the spot. Will be back forrsure!
Had a wonderful time getting dinner here twice. The atmosphere at night is cozy, fancy, and social. The pasta is amazing! The appetizers are some of the best!! The service was a little bit slow one of the times; though generally it’s really good.
I visited Fumo Harlem for the first time and had a great experience. I had the pleasure of meeting Miguel, who was very informative and helped guide us through the menu. I tried the vegan burger and it was amazing definitely a standout! He also recommended the lemon cake, which had a unique and interesting flavor. Overall, great service and a really enjoyable visit. I’ll definitely be back!
This place was so good. It gives date night the food was so good. Clams were seasoned to perfection. The calamari was crispy & the marinara sauce was seasoned as well. I had the penne vodka which was creamy. The drinks were delicious. Service was on point. We left a great tip.
I had the steak frites and it was cooked perfectly. The service was fine, my only complaint is that the restaurant was empty and they chose to sit me in a booth, 1 foot away from the only other people there. It was awkward because I was basically in their conversation and I just kept looking at all the other empty seats that wouldn’t have put me on someone else’s lap while eating and wondered why they couldn’t have just sat me there lol
Good food, but took a long time to receive our order. We asked for flat (vs. sparkling) water, figuring it was tap (which is fine) but then saw an $8 bottle of water added to the bill. It was an ok experience not great. I think we got into the background of a lot of instagram videos! annoying!
I visited the restaurant on February 4, 2026, around 4:00 PM, and unfortunately my experience was very disappointing. The host was not welcoming and appeared disengaged, as though she did not want to be at work. My date and I were seated near a large crowd despite there being available seating on the other side of the restaurant. When I asked if we could change seats, the host responded with an attitude that made us uncomfortable.

After being seated, we waited approximately seven minutes without being acknowledged—no water, no greeting, nothing. Meanwhile, a guest who arrived after us and was seated next to us was immediately attended to. She received her wine before we received our drinks and her food before we received our appetizer, even though we were clearly there first.

When I politely addressed this with the server, she appeared frustrated that I spoke up about the lack of service. The situation made me feel unwelcome, especially given that this occurred during Black History Month. My waiter never came back. Fortunately, another waiter, Miguel, completely turned the experience around. He was attentive, professional, and ensured that the remainder of our visit was pleasant. His service was greatly appreciated.

While the food was excellent and the drinks were good, the overall experience left a lasting negative impression. Due to how we were treated, I would not return. I strongly encourage management to ensure staff are properly trained to provide respectful and equitable service to all guests, regardless of race.
This place is warm and cozy. Great interior and cool vibe. I got a chicken parm with noodles and it was absolutely delicious!!! 😋😋😋The sauce was EVERYTHING!!!! 👌🏿👌🏿👌🏿👌🏿Very good romantic/intimate spot for dinner date or night out with friends 🙌🏿🙌🏿🙌🏿🙌🏿🙌🏿
I dined here tonight at about 5:45pm to celebrate my friend and her daughter's birthday along with my mom.

We were promptly seated inside and served shortly after. The first server, Steven, took our drink orders and gave us a little time to peruse the menu. We ultimately chose a rigatoni bolognese (friend's daughter), a penne vodka with meatballs (friend), a naked penne vodka for my mom and I had a spaghetti vongole. For drinks, my mom and I each had a raspberry lemonade and my friend and her daughter had a Fumo mocktail and a coke, respectively.

Now after enjoying our meals, two other servers came and we requested extra bread from one and he never brought it, even after asking an additional time. Steven immediately brought it right after we were able to get his attention. Also while busting the table, the other server from the two mentioned earlier, reached across without asking for clearance which rubbed us all the wrong way because he passed really close to my face.
This turned us off from tipping extra because the service was not great and I just thought I should make a note of it but other than that, everything else was good to go. I'll be back to try the brunch and other menu items.
Great experience. Sat at the bar and our server Arturo was great. We got the spicy calimari, the arugula salad and the baked ziti all were really good. Wing bottles were also 50% off so that was great
I’m disappointed with the service during my last visit. I come to Fumo often and usually have a great experience, but this time our waitress, Meghan, was very rushed and rude. She made us feel pressured and even took our plates before we finished eating without asking. This is not the experience I’m used to here.
Fumo: A Must-Visit Italian Gem in Harlem
Fumo on Amsterdam Ave and 137th Street is, without a doubt, a must-visit culinary destination in Harlem. My recent dinner here with my wife was nothing short of exceptional, offering a perfect blend of great atmosphere, attentive service, and truly amazing food.
From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was vibrant yet cozy, setting the ideal stage for a memorable night out. The energy is fantastic without being overwhelming, making it a perfect spot for either a special occasion or a casual weeknight treat. The service was equally good—our server was helpful, prompt, and genuinely friendly, ensuring we felt welcomed and well-cared for throughout the meal.
The true highlight, however, was the food. I ordered the classic Spaghetti Carbonara and it was sublime. The sauce was rich and creamy, coated the perfectly al dente pasta, and was exactly the comforting, authentic dish I was craving. The Garlic Bread served alongside was crisp, buttery, and the ideal accompaniment.
My wife opted for the Penne alla Vodka and was equally impressed. The sauce achieved that perfect balance—tangy from the tomato and decadent from the cream—a clear testament to high-quality ingredients and skillful preparation.
Fumo offers a complete and unforgettable dining package. If you’re in the area and looking for high-quality Italian cuisine that backs up its reputation, stop searching. This place is an absolute gem.
Highly, highly recommended!
I really enjoy Fumo—the food is consistently great and the atmosphere is always lively and welcoming. It’s a place I genuinely look forward to dining at.

That said, I’ve noticed something that detracts from the experience. The owners are often present, which is usually a positive sign, but they come across as surprisingly impersonal. On a recent visit, one stood near the kitchen the entire time without once engaging with guests or checking on how things were going. Another lingered near the hostess stand, and when we left, neither acknowledged us or thanked us for coming. It’s a small gesture, but a warm goodbye or thank you goes a long way in making patrons feel appreciated—especially when it comes from ownership.

Also, I have to mention the bread situation. It’s a bit baffling that warm bread isn’t offered, especially considering how many guests have apparently expressed the same frustration. It’s a simple touch that most diners expect and appreciate.

Fumo has so much going for it, and with a little more attention to hospitality and guest feedback, it could elevate the experience even further.
