⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Fornos of Spain truly feels like a little piece of Spain in Newark. From the moment you sit down, you’re welcomed with olives, bread, and a fresh salad, which immediately sets the tone for a wonderful dining experience.

We enjoyed a pitcher of red sangria, mushroom croquettes that were crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside, tender grilled octopus, flavorful mussels in a spicy sauce, and an incredible Valencian paella that exceeded all of our expectations. We also tried the porterhouse, which was juicy and served with generous sides.

To finish the evening, we had the coconut flan and crema catalana, and we loved that churros with chocolate are included at the end of the meal.

The beautiful covered terrace, authentic Spanish flavors, and warm hospitality make this a place worth visiting. Highly recommend!

My wife took me here for dinner before a show at NJPAC, the food was delicious, I had the Pescatore and my wife had the Bronzini with Francese sauce. The wait staff was amazing and very attentive. The portions were very good, an d the prices were great. Our only complaint is the menus are a bit overwhelming.

We had such a great experience at Fornos of Spain! The food was absolutely delicious and the service was excellent. Since it was Mother’s Day, the place was very crowded and a bit noisy, but everything else was amazing. They even gave us complimentary salad and churros, which was such a nice touch. Definitely worth visiting!

If you want the very best service, food and more from Spain, this is the place. You are easily transported to Spain by eating here. From paellas of every kind to other Spanish or Portuguese foods prepared in traditional styles, you'll leave wanting more. We will be back on our visits to New Jersey.

I've been coming to this restaurant for 20 years! Every time I eat here, I am not disappointed. Located in the famous Ironbound section of Newark, NJ. Valet parking (save the hassle). Recommend reserving ahead, but walk-in is possible depending on the time of day. They have a section where you can smoke a cigar and eat. Old world setting with white tablecloth and fine dining. Complimentary salad and bread. I ordered a medium-rare NY strip with the fixings. Beautifully prepared and cooked to my liking. I will continue to frequent this establishment. 9.9/10.

The last time I was at Fornos had to be 25+ years ago. Like an old friend they haven't changed. Food authentic with rich flavors balanced to perfection. From start to finish was flawless. One of the better restaurants that keeps up but reminds to their roots. The staff attentive, well dressed, groomed, neat and friendly. Bathrooms clean as well.

Consistently great service and delicious foods with big portions. They offer cigar section and mixed drinks for adults. Very professional establishment with attention to detail. I recommend reservations for major event dates like mothers day. Most days walk ins are easily and quickly seated. Lots of options on the menu.

As a restaurant owner, I truly appreciate when a place gets things right… and Fornos definitely does.
Sometimes you just need to switch it up, step out of your own kitchen and enjoy being a guest, and this is one of those spots I always come back to. The food is consistently high quality, full of great flavors, and that kind of consistency is not easy to achieve in this industry.
But what really stands out is the service. Cesar and Nico are, without a doubt, some of my favorite bartenders and servers. Whether I come alone or with company, they always provide outstanding service—attentive without being intrusive, and genuinely making the whole experience enjoyable.
Also worth mentioning: their pricing is very fair for the quality they offer, which is a huge plus nowadays.
From one business owner to another, it’s always great to see places that maintain high standards, pay attention to the details, and truly understand the importance of the overall experience.
100% recommended. ✨

The food was very good, the Paella de Pollo was very tasty, the portion was good too, the chicken piece is good, does not have to much bone, but also have dark meat part too. The Marissa’s Verde was very good too, the scallop and mussel was very big, and so is the lobster, fresh and big, the shrimp was fresh too. After the meal, the waiter gave us churro, taste good.

This is absolutely one of my favorite Spanish restaurants! I have been here more than three times.

The food is always amazing. The fig dessert is delicious, and the complimentary salad is fresh and comes in a huge portion! The main dishes are aromatic and flavorful.

I especially love the complimentary Churros served with hot chocolate sauce at the end—they are so good! The Basque cheesecake is also a must-try.

Last time, a manager noticed how much I enjoyed the churros and kindly brought us an extra portion. I was so touched and grateful for the gesture. Highly recommend this place for the great food and wonderful service!

Incredible food. The portions serving size is very generous. I loved their spanish yellow rice, the seasoning, in my opinion, is to live for.

Their fried calamari is very crunchy and rich with the sauce they give.

The bread also has a nice unique flavor twist to it, of course the butter is a solid accompanament.

I got the lamb, it is tender (~$45), but I prefer the steak since it was more on the juicy/flavorful side.

Overall, excellent choice for a fancy dinner together with friends and family. I loved the soothing and relaxing atmosphere. They also do free delicious surprise dessert for birthday celebrations.

Haven’t been there in a few years. I could literally slap myself for that! What a gem I’ve been missing out on. Forno’s is top billing in our rotation. Everything was supreme including our waiter Aguilar! His suggestions throughout our dinner were spot on. He is exceptional at what he does. Thank you for that Aguilar! If you want a wonderful experience drop what you’re doing and treat yourself to an amazing place, FORNO’S. 🌟
