Flaming Grill & Modern Buffet

Its a great buffets spot, has free parking, and its affordable, Has some claw games once you walk in. And the place is pretty big but can become very tight when everyone crowds around the buffet part and stay and talk. They have a tendency to sit you at a table and get big group to sit right behind you to keep the tables together for the staff, this became a bit uneasy because I had to say excuse me to get out from my table, then the get my food then to get back at the table and people huff and puff like they didnt realize we are seriously back to back eating. Not good.. they need to space families out for comfort at least when its not that busy. Other than that great service, great staff, nice atmosphere and the food was ok. You get what you pay for. Just try not to be wasteful.

I had a really disappointing experience at this buffet. The seafood was clearly not fresh — it tasted expired and had a strong, unpleasant smell. Some of the dishes looked like they had been sitting out far too long, and the texture was off, which made it hard to even finish a plate.<br><br>On top of that, the service was terrible. Staff seemed uninterested, slow to respond, and overall just didn’t care about the customers. It made an already bad situation even worse. To top it off, they still asked for a tip, which felt completely undeserved given the level of service.<br><br>For a place that advertises seafood, I expected much better quality and proper food safety standards. Instead, it felt like corners were being cut. I wouldn’t recommend eating here, especially if you’re planning to try the seafood. Definitely not worth the price or the risk

Their food pretty good. A lot of options and sections to choose from. The Sushi and Hibachi section is my favorite. You don’t have to a pricey Hibachi/Sushi spot so this place is steal! Their desserts are okay but I can’t complain, it’s including with the price you pay per person. Drinks are separate. Give it a shot, you’ll be back!

We went to the buffet a few months ago on the weekend and it was packed and we had to wait maybe 45 minutes but it was worth the wait.<br>We went back tonight before the Westchester Soccer Club game and had another great meal.<br>The restaurant is large and clean and is staffed by tona of people.<br>The food is all fresh and delicious.<br>They have a station in the back where you build your own plate with rice or noodles, protein including steak chicken shrimp and crab, vegetables etc. you give it to the cook who makes it on the hibachi cook top and adds your choice of sauces.<br>Then there is a very extensive sushi bar with sushi, sashimi, seaweed salad etc.<br><br>There are soups, Chinese food, some American specialties like buffalo wings and chicken fingers and fries.<br>There are a ton of raw seafood items as well as cooked seafood options.<br>There is a large salad bar and a large desert bar including Hershey's ice cream cups.<br>You won't be sorry having a great meal here.

Food is good& Customer service is phenomenal. Only thing is some time the food is not hot enough but when it’s replaced oh boy it’s great! Love the guys at the hibachi station. We eat here often and prefer the intimate atmosphere offered here over other buffets

The family and I went to celebrate. The servers were on point as always.<br>They actually made it table feel special because our 11 month old baby stole their hearts. Lol. Even other tables played peekaboo with my baby. Great environment

New owners, new management 01/09/26: major decline in food & service. Hot & Sour soup Beef with broccoli, General Tso's Chicken, Lomein with Peanut Sauce, fried dumplings, fried calamari, stuffed shrimp, bacon wrapped chicken& shrimp: all were poorly done, some almost tasteless including duck sauce! My 2 lunch guests were not impressed & volunteered "I will not be back", " Me neither!" Very young waitress (table C5) only brought us 3 water glasses & 1 hot tea. When I asked for tea refill, she redid my check adding $2+ to the bill! When I left $4 tip, she actually said "Is this for me? That's all? Are you sure?" O have eaten here for years under previous owners & management giving 5 star ratings repeatedly. I have repeatedly recommended it to family & friends. Sadly this has is no longer true. It was a major disappointment. Better Chinese food is available at the nearby takeout. Very disappointing start to 2026. SMH.

Very disgusting and very disrespectful serving food that has maggots inside!!! I’m not happy at all not one bit!!! Now my family and myself we are all sick never again we won’t return back to this restaurant. For anyone reading this please be careful going to this restaurant.

The food is great. It’s affordable and there’s a lot of options. Great food and atmosphere.

Like most Chinese buffets, the food wasn’t anything special. But we were happy with how many different options there were. There’s something for everyone seafood, meat, fruits, desserts.<br>One thing we really liked was how often they brought out fresh food. Even when something was not gone, like a quarter of a cake, they still replaced it with a new one. We were there for about 30 minutes, and they refilled most trays more than once.<br>The only thing we didn’t enjoy was the sushi. We tried a few pieces and they didn’t taste good at all.

Some stuff on point, others lacked flavor. Got lunch buffet takeout, spinach, and boneless spare ribs were great. Steak, green beans, and ham were okay. The beef and broccoli needed more something. I enjoyed the bacon wrapped chicken, had good salt and nice seasoning. Cheese Rangoon had great flavor but wasn't crispy enough.

I went here with my family for lunch today 4/12…<br>I went here before a couple times… firstly the buffet was very crowded so we got sat in the party room and we were the only ones there in the room and it was good since it was quiet in there…Now to the food. There are a decent amount of options from fried food to specialty foods. They also have a sushi bar and a Hibatchi area for food to be cook in front of you. The problem I found with some of the food items I ate was that some of them was luke warm and it wasn’t that good especially the Beef and broccoli which the beef I got was cold and I didn’t eat it. The foods I did enjoy was the ribs and the shrimp and I got a few plates of that… when we finished our food we got our check. And we were still eating our desert and the lady kept coming about every 2 minutes to see if we paid and after a while it got annoying so we paid and left.. Overall my experience here today was so-so from the service to the food. I will still come here in the future since they closed the buffet I used to go to a while back. Hopefully my experience then will be better than today!!

Flaming Grill Buffet in Mount Vernon is hands down my favorite restaurant, just a quick drive from the North Bronx. I love going for lunch, but after lunch is when it gets even better with all-you-can-eat crabs that just keep coming—fresh and nonstop! The hibachi grill is always ready with no lines, and the sushi is freshly made and full of flavor. There’s ample parking at any time, and the bathrooms are consistently clean, with modern sinks and great soap. The attentive, friendly, and beautiful waitresses make the whole experience top-notch. It’s always a perfect dining choice!

VERY crowded and long wait. We had 28 people. Waited an hour. Took up the whole lobby. Great cheap food. Just raise the prices so we wouldn’t have to wait so long. It’s a SUNDAY. 18.99 per person is dirt cheap. Make it $25 per person. You’ll still have the same customers. Most buffets charge $30-$50 per person.

I had a fantastic experience at this hibachi buffet restaurant. We were so hungry after a long, hectic day & immediately jumped into their buffet. Esp I must mention of their desserts, loved them so much!<br><br>The service was excellent; the staff was attentive and friendly, ensuring we had a comfortable and enjoyable dining experience.
