ER Service, Horrible, overcrowded to the max over 50 patients, dirty conditions, long wait times, under staff, my mom waited 20 hrs waiting in ER for a bed on cardiac floor. Doctors assigned rarely came by unless you went to look for them, they kept telling me they were going to call upstairs to expedite a bed for her, but absolutely nothing was done. Go to Lenox Hill Hospital. I regret bringing my mom here. Her clinic doctors are from Montefiore Hospital and are great, but the ER is extremely unsafe. Too many patients in hallways. I had to assist my mom to urinate on bedpan because by the time her nurse would come, it would be too late. Something has to be done, this place is putting patients at risk of getting sicker, and possibly dying. I will never ever return. We were at Montefiore in Mt Vernon which is absolutely the opposite, but due to cardiac issues my mom is having, they transferred her to the Montefiore Moses Campus. We wanted to leave and return the next morning, but doctors kept insisting that we would just have to start the ER process all over again. I dont normally leave bad reviews for hospitals, but this ER in Moses campus is NOT SAFE. Despite this horrible experience in the ER, once we got to the Cardiac floor, CARE WAS AMAZING- from the doctors, nurses and techs. My sister and me stayed with my mom during the day and overnights during her 8 day inpatient stay, and WE WERE EXTREMELY PLEASED WITH THE COMPASSIONATE, EXPERT AND PROFESSIONAL CARE OUR MOM RECEIVED. I guess it's not a good idea to judge a hospital only by your ER experience. I would definitely bring my mom again to Montefiore Moses Campus.

My first experience at Montefiore was in April when I was admitted with a perforated appendix. From the moment I arrived, the staff were kind, professional, and incredibly helpful throughout my stay.

A special thank you to Dr. Peter Liu, who visited me almost every morning and always took the time to check on my recovery and answer my questions. Dr. Liu also performed my surgery, which was successful, and I am extremely grateful for his expertise and compassionate care.

I truly appreciate the kindness and dedication shown by Dr. Liu and the entire Montefiore team. I highly recommend Montefiore and Dr. Peter Liu to anyone seeking excellent medical care. Thank you for everything.

What was the greatest hospital in The Bronx Has now become money, hungry, property hungry and do not care about their patients. I should not be talking to a call center and leaving personal private information which I really should be telling a nurse because they are refusing to put me on with a nurse, and I explained to him that I needed to speak with someone as soon as possible, because my surgery was going to be in a day and a 1/2. If it comes to me paying a bill, they will call me within seconds. Anything else they do not care? And when my son is in the hospital and I go to customer service, they really do not care when you give a complaint or a concern and they dismiss you

I just want to say that I absolutely loved the care provided by one of the nurses, who was incredibly attentive and helpful to both my husband and me. There are people who perform their work with love, and he is one of them. Thank you for your kindness and care—specifically to that nurse oniel Clarke god bless you

DONT GO HERE. The nurse never collected my urine before the MRI Scan and the Emergency department is filled with travel nurses that they hire that do not know what they’re doing. This is how they removed my IV, I immediately went to another hospital after to Find out that Monty gave me a hematoma on my hand by removing my IV. Do not go here they don’t know what they’re doing. When the doc felt that he no longer wanted to treat my pain, he closed the curtains on me and then sent me over to Psych Because I Called and reported him to the state of New York. If this is how they retaliated on my hand all because I called the state on them, be careful.

I want to sincerely thank the doctors and nurses who cared for me during my hospital stay. After leaving the ER twice, the team followed up with me, called me, and took the time to explain the importance of returning for further evaluation. That follow-up showed genuine concern for my health and made a real difference.Once admitted, the care I received was exceptional. Huge shoutout to Klaus, Floor 6 the nurses there were patient, attentive, and incredibly accommodating. During the nurses’ strike, the travel nurses were absolutely excellent and went above and beyond to make sure I felt supported.

Special thank you to the neurology team and the medical doctor who worked the morning shift truly amazing. The level of care, communication, and compassion made a stressful situation feel manageable. While the hospital system could benefit from better updates and coordination, the care team delivered outstanding care despite those challenges. I am extremely grateful. Thank you to an incredible team.

Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx truly deserves endless praise. The wonderful staff, from the front desk to the hallways, are caring, patient, and professional. The nurses and doctors work incredibly hard every day, and I am deeply grateful for the multiple successful surgeries I’ve had here throughout the years. I also appreciate the kitchen staff for consistently providing great food. There’s something special about a hospital where you can get lost in the long hallways and still feel cared for. Montefiore is a true neighborhood staple, and I hold deep respect for Sir Moses Montefiore himself. Most importantly, I am beyond thankful for the successful surgery my mom had here and the love shown by every doctor, nurse, and staff member involved.

This hospital is truly a hit or miss, and unfortunately our experience was overwhelmingly negative. While a few nurses showed care & compassion, far too many spent time sitting in hallways chatting instead of checking on patients. The level of attention & quality of care depended entirely on which nurse you happened to get and if they did not like you or your family member, it clearly affected the care provided....The most alarming issues occurred at the admin & discharge level. After multiple attempts to speak with hospital management & formally requesting detailed medical & financial records, we received nothing. There was no transparency, no follow-up & no accountability. The patient was inappropriately discharged despite having a serious medical condition & a high risk of infection. The hospital effectively engaged in patient dumping by sending the patient to a rehab facility knowing full well that physical therapy could not be performed. Even worse, the hospital failed to send proper documentation to the receiving facility & did not disclose that the patient had an extremely deep, open pressure sore from being left idle in a hospital bed for three weeks. Despite this, the hospital documentation falsely claimed the patient was receiving physical therapy three times per week. Complaints were filed with risk management & the Department of Health, yet no action was taken. This facility operates with zero accountability. This was unacceptable, unsafe & negligent care. I wouldn’t send my worst enemy here, let alone a loved one.

Advised by her doctor my mother was sent to the ER 2 days ago for a fractured shoulder. Some of the worst and unprofessional nurses and doctors I have ever encountered. Nurses were lazy and inattentive to the patients needs. One administrator who work behind the receptionist desk( Asian Female) when asked by me when will a doctor be on hand to attend speak with me and my mother I was ignored 2-3 times. Then when she finally answered she said she would check in the system. She then proceeds to go back around the desk and laugh with her colleagues and then walks out of the ER. The day shift orthopedic doctors didn’t give much insight on my mother’s condition either. Said a couple words then vanished. The night shift doctor Lonergan, Bronagh very rude and sarcastic attitude and quite unprofessional. While explaining a procedure for a ct scan to my mother I myself ( patients son) ask can I join her while she gets the procedure done , Lonergan says “you can but only if you want to get hit with radiation “. I found that very distasteful and unprofessional on her part. I even said to her my mother hasn’t eaten all day she never told a nurse to bring food. Upon discharge my mother was sent home with a prescription of ibuprofen and oxycodine and pain patches Lonergan never put the request in the pharmacy for the patches. An individual like this should not be in medicine and around patients with severe needs. If you can stay clear from this place and the above individual.

A few months ago I was visiting NYC with my children from Massachusetts. Day 2 of being there my 6 year old eye began swelling up I gave him some eye drops and took him to the ED anyways because I needed more eye drops as the one I used was for his sister 5 days before his eyes became swollen hers was the exact same way I took her to the children hospital and received the eye drops for her. So we get to the ED it is gross in the lobby when we went up to register my son I explained to them what was going on and that I had given him some eye drops and was only there for him to be seen so he can have some because we where not heading back home until the following day. They kept asking him about his eyes he said the day before he was playing and his little sister accidentally poked him in his eyes. They did his vitals and brought us back behind some curtains in a little area with blood and trash on the floor, tissue all over the bathroom. I was grossed out because I never expected to see a dirty hospital. Trust me I’ve been to enough because of my son asthma and I work in one of the biggest hospitals in Massachusetts. We where back there about 20 min my son was falling asleep by now it’s after midnight his eye was not swollen anymore I asked a nurse when will he be seen she told me they’re waiting for the doctor. We sat there about 1 hour didn’t see the doctor or received any medication or update for him. I went to the nurses station and told them I need a AMA form so I can take him home the nurse told me a specific person had to do it I went to the guy he told me he was coming another 20 min I went back to him he seemed as if I was bothering him he did not acknowledged me so I went back to the curtain section took my child and walked out the hospital. He was not seen by any doctor. They sent my 6 year old a hospital bill for $2600 and that’s after a so call discount. I reached out to there billing department for a brake down of the bill only for them to tell me they can’t discuss it with me because it’s in my 6 year old name. I would like to know what service was my child build for if he was not seen by a provider. This has to be illegal and if it’s not it should be that’s why people are dying and afraid to go to the hospital the bill alone will put you in a coma

Terrible staff, I had a major accident in May 2024 and went to Elmhurst Hospital for cranial and spinal surgery, I was then discharged to Mount Sinai, a rehabilitation hospital where I was trained with a wheelchair and therapy, then due to their expansion I was transferred to Monshalo Nursing home for therapy, then they forgot to give me the 4 pills for 12PM and at 8PM when I needed the PM pills they gave me both combined, that was 8 pills and I had a horrible reaction and had to go here, now while being here all December 2024 they NEVER cleared up for me this was an emergency room hospital, not a rehabilitation clinic, I begged for a wheelchair for 8 days and they said “we are working on it, it’s coming” then on December 31 the main doctor told me “it’s on its way, it will be here at 8PM” then 9PM comes around and I call the nurses asking “is the wheelchair here? Where is the Doctor? He said he was getting it” then the nurses tell me “oh he is gone, hoist ended at 8PM”. The staff here is highly negligent, no communication, no clarity, just billing the insurance and all laughing in the hallway. Find other emergency room hospital, this might as well be part of the anthology “American Horror story: Montefiore” Bad bad hospital, there staff is horrible, be careful.

I use to love this hospital until they denied to see my disabled daughter for her ear appointment after waiting two months to get this appointment because her insurance was messed up and they have me and her name's into twin or not if they're not gonna get $1000 Insurance company They literally denied to see her, which is crazy to me had me here for over two hours going back-and-forth from financial aid and a lady from financial aid feeding that they know kids don't usually receive these services I'm beyond pissed right now, but it's life and I'll deal with it

I would like to trully thank the hospital and the staff for being so professional when I went there to visit my friend and for keeping the place so clean.
On another note, I would like to thank the lost and found for mailing back my New York State Drives license that I must have lost either in the hospital or outside on the street. I did not notice I lost it until it was mailed to me by Montefiore Hospital at this location without a note. This trully made me happy and showed me the good staff that this hospital has by someone going out of their way to do the right thing without any expectations back to their benefit as there was no note from which department this was mailed out to me from.
Thank you again Monti for having such good people in your hospital!
