One of the best donuts I’ve tried. Creative flavors without overdoing it, really balanced sweetness, and you can actually taste the quality of the ingredients. Soft, fresh, and each one had its own character. Definitely worth coming back for.

I've been eating these doughnuts for a long time. Before this location was open, I would go all the way to Brooklyn, the original location. And I've been coming to this location since they opened, but haven't been back for a few years. The room is still very nice and the staff are still wonderful, but they no longer make cake doughnuts sadly, and the yeast doughnuts are thicker and heavier than before. But these are excellent yeast doughnuts. But VERY filling.

The strawberry doughnut is nice.
But doughnut tastes like bread.
Not my type.

I found the confections were tasty but I wouldn't call them a donut. They were too cake like and couldn't really tell if they were fried. The flavors were solid, but nothing to write home about.

Lovely little spot with a huge selection of beautiful, giant donuts! The service was fast, and the quality is top-notch. Highly recommend!

Good donuts but overrated. Remember to say hello to the service, or he will continue to hello back to you until you greet him. Interesting.

The brown-butter glaze alone is enough to stop you mid-sentence — and that’s before you even realize how soft the dough is underneath.

Dough Doughnuts isn’t just another coffee-and-pastry stop in Manhattan. It’s a specialty doughnut shop known for oversized, brioche-style doughnuts with real depth of flavor and a texture that actually feels handmade. You can taste that these aren’t cranked out for volume.

The dulce de leche was rich and glossy with a nutty sweetness that didn’t cross into cloying. The crumb topping added texture without overwhelming the glaze. The chocolate with cacao nibs had that slight bitterness that balances the sweetness beautifully, and the snap of the nibs against the soft dough made it even better. The hibiscus glaze was subtle and floral, not artificial or loud, and the classic glazed proved they understand fundamentals. When a plain glaze is this good — airy interior, delicate chew, clean sweetness — you know the base recipe is strong.

There was also a jelly-filled option with a smooth, lightly spiced glaze that felt more thoughtful than typical bakery jam bombs. Everything had weight to it, but nothing felt greasy.

And the service deserves real credit. Everyone was warm, patient, and genuinely helpful while we figured out what to order. It didn’t feel rushed or transactional, which matters more than people think in a place that can easily get busy.

As someone who spends a lot of time exploring Manhattan neighborhoods for real estate, I always notice the small businesses that quietly anchor a block. A shop like Dough Doughnuts adds personality and foot traffic in the best way.

If you’re looking for handcrafted doughnuts in Manhattan that go beyond basic glaze and sprinkles, this is absolutely worth the stop.

Oh my goodness! These doughnuts are so delicious. The crazy thing is, when I’m in the area I always pick some up. However, every time feels like my first time.

Today I picked up:

Boston Cream
Soft and fluffy with a smooth vanilla cream inside that tastes rich but not heavy. The chocolate on top is silky and clean, not overly sweet or waxy. Every bite feels balanced and comforting.

Seasonal Jam
Light and airy with a bright, fruity jam that tastes fresh instead of fake. The jam adds just enough sweetness and a little tang, which keeps it from feeling sugary or overpowering.

Cheesecake
Creamy and slightly tangy with a soft texture that melts as you eat it. It has that classic cheesecake flavor without being too rich. Sweet, but calm and smooth.

Hibiscus
This one really stands out. Light floral notes with a gentle tartness that cuts the sweetness perfectly. It feels fresh and different, not perfumey or artificial at all.

Dulce de Leche
Warm, caramel-like flavor that’s deep and comforting. It’s sweet, but not sticky or overwhelming. The dough stays soft while the filling adds that cozy richness.

Doughnut Crisp (Cinnamon Sugar)
Crispy, light, and super satisfying. The cinnamon sugar is warm and subtle, not dumped on. Sweet enough to crave, but never too much.

Toasted Coconut
Nutty and mellow with a soft dough underneath. The coconut adds texture and flavor without stealing the show. It tastes natural and well toasted, not sugary.

Overall, these doughnuts are incredibly fresh and soft, and that’s what makes them so good. Nothing is disgustingly sweet. Every flavor feels balanced and easy to enjoy.

I tried the cheesecake doughnut and it was very delicious. It was quite hefty and filling so I don't recommend eating anything else prior (unless you're okay with being uncomfortably full). The iced americano, though basic, was also nice too. Seating is a bit tight so I would probably just take it to-go.

The cheesecake donut is easily one of the best donuts I’ve ever had. That cream in the middle was mind blowing. I tried the blueberry lemon donut as well. At first it was just ehhh, but after the second bite the flavors exploded in my mouth. I will be returning to this shop. Its was amazing. The staff is kind as well. This is easily my favorite donut spot in all of new york. These donuts are such an interesting cross between fluffy and cakey ans the icing is delicious. Theyre about $6/7 per donut but well worth it theyre about the size of 2 or 3 normal donuts.

A small but unique donut place. The flavors are different, but donuts are a large size. I could never finish them in one sitting. They also have some muffins and serve coffee as well. There is some seating available but I wouldn't say this is a place to sit and work from.
Some fun donut flavors are "Mocha Almond Crunch" and "Dulce de Leche". They also have Boston Creme. The donuts always taste fresh and airy. My fave is the Cafe Au Lait. Found out that they cater too, in case you need a sweets table. I hope they continue staying open later hours during the summer.

If you want to try a spectacular donut, this is the place. I loved the flavor of the dough and the different toppings it had. My best recommendation is that they don't come very late so they have a greater variety of flavors. The flavor, besides being fresh, is not too sweet. They also have different drinks to combine with your donut. The only thing they didn't have was hand sanitizer, for people like me who are a little stubborn before eating.
