not sure the pizza is worth the awful service. i had been ordering delivery from here for a while and always thought the pizza is great. this is why you should not meet your idols. service is a “no soup for you” approach with a “you are lucky to be here” twist. get your pizza somewhere else. Plus the guy who tended to us has a napoleon complex. Also super machista; asked to speak to male
for ordering. Terrible customer service!

Pizza is unlike the usual. Regular slices and the extra sauce have a sweet taste.
Pesto slice is rich in flavor, top tier. Adding sauce to both is a must, but definitely try without it first. Getting a seat can be difficult as its a very small space!
Update: I’m so happy to see that the dining room has reopened. It’s wonderful to be able to dine here again. The staff are kind and sincere, the place has a warm neighborhood charm, and the food feels honest and comforting. I love their signature sweet tomato sauce, both on the pizza and in their classic Italian-American dishes.
Wonderful pizza place in Kew Gardens Queens. I have no words how to describe it come and check it out yourself. The nicest pizza experience in queens. Dani’s house of pizza 👑
Hands down the best pizza I’ve had in NYC. The sauce is sweet but also salty, it’s hard to explain just try it! It gets very crowded on weekend nights, I suggest calling ahead of time or just braving the line (it does move quick). The staff are really friendly and charismatic. It’s a tight spot, most of the seats are taken but worth every bit of hassle. Amazing pizza!
this place is around for 67 years, love the vintage cash register, the place makes you feel like you go back in time, amazing pizza sauce, there is a reason why they are still in business decades later!
Guys at the front absolutely suck. Never met more rude people anywhere. The pizza is always a 10 though
Response from the owner
Let’s be honest. What’s more important? Thank you for your business and review. 😁
Dani's is touted as one of the best pizzas in NYC. It's great pizza, but I wouldn't go that far. What keeps it from being one of the best pizzas I've ever had is how sweet it is. People passionate about pizza and tomato sauce add sugar or sweetness to balance out the acidity of tomato, but the sauce was way too sweet. People praising the sweet sauce or definitely overhyping it. It borderline ruins it. I may be the best in Kew Gardens, but that detail definitely makes it NOT one of the best in Queens or NYC. The service was mid. Zero greeting when you walk in, little to make me feel welcome. The counter dude calling everyone "boss" got annoying fast. My mistake was not ordering the pesto, I heard people ordering it, and see it's highly recommended for this place. I wouldn't go out of my way to drive to Dani's, but if I'm in the area again, I'll stop by to try the pesto slice. People traveling from far to go here don't know what a truly good NYC slice of pizza is.

Edit/update. I started off with a 4 star review. I removed 1 star because the service is subpar, and the pizza is just to damn sweet to be considered an excellent slice. It's good, and crispy, but the sweetness kind of ruins it. I came back to make it a 3 star review and remove even more stars from the service portion, cause I wasn't happy with the service and I noticed the owner attacks people commenting on the poor service comments. Yes, real New Yorkers defend themselves, but for a place with this history and legacy, the focus should be on the community and its customers. Disgusting behavior on the part of the owner. Maybe get someone your staff won't recognize as being friends or family of the owner, and have them walk in for a slice and a drink to see what they say. Maybe apologize to the customer for their individual experience.
The pizza is a 8 out of 10 , excellent structure it holds up well , the cheese is done right everytime , the line goes out the door cause its not much room inside , the servers aren't ignoring you they just going through the line how they see it, so if you waiting on line make sure u dont get cut ,the sauce is sweet but the pizza itself is done very right ,highly recommend
Dani’s House Of Pizza located in Kew Gardens, such a iconic pizza spot with great tasting pizza ! Best known for their signature pesto slices, would recommend adding pizza sauce on it for exquisite taste. Best to call ahead to place any catering orders or a pie itself.
I don’t know what kind of deal this pizza place made with the universe, but that sauce? Life-changing. I took one bite and briefly forgot all my problems. Student loans? Gone. Existential dread? Who? The pizza was so good I considered proposing to it. And the owner? He’s hands-down the nicest person I’ve ever met. Like, weirdly nice. The kind of nice that makes you question your own personality. This pizza sauce must be made with magic (or some ancient Albanian secret), Honestly, I came in for a slice and left emotionally healed. 11/10, someone give them a Michelin star and a hug.
Dani’s House of Pizza in Kew Gardens just became my go-to spot in Queens. I tried their pesto pizza first, and it was incredible. The perfect mix of garlicky pesto, melty cheese, and a crispy crust. Then I had their classic cheese pizza, simple but packed with flavor. But the real surprise was the pesto pizza with red sauce on top. I didn’t even know that combination existed, but it was next level. The tangy red sauce mixed with the creamy pesto was something special.

Now whenever I’m in Queens and craving pizza, I know exactly where to go.
One of my favorite slices of all time. Their famed sweet sauce makes the regular pizza fly off the counter. Their also famed pesto slice is borderline life-changing...so good. Both are crisped perfectly and not doughy. For a real treat, order a pesto slice with a topping of the red sweet sauce. Do not be intimidated by long lines (they move quickly) and locals who know the process, ie don't block the slices-to-go line when waiting for a called-in order.
Every thing comes out fresh because there’s a line of people always doesn’t matter the time, pro tip: park in the back by metro north walk up. Either get a regular slice or a pesto slice with extra sauce. Can’t go wrong here, sauce is on the sweeter side but it grows on you, either grab a seat on a stool but if it’s packed/ metro north is cool to chill in your car & eat
If you have yet to try the best pesto slice with marinara ever, you better run not walk! Absolute deliciousness in every morsel. I guarantee that you’ll love it and tell everyone about it and keep coming back for more and more and then more!

They don’t stay open late since Covid. Lines can be long so be aware. If you’re picking up pies, call ahead and expect an hour wait. Pesto with marinara is the way to go for us but they have plenty of options plus an extensive food and drink menu as well.

Bon appetit!
