A Classic New York Diner Experience at Court Square Diner

I recently visited Court Square Diner at 45-30 23rd Street in Long Island City, NY, and it was an outstanding experience from beginning to end. One of the things that immediately stands out about this diner is that it is open 24 hours a day, making it a perfect place to enjoy a meal at any time. Whether you’re looking for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or a late-night bite, Court Square Diner is always ready to welcome guests.

The diner has a wonderful retro atmosphere that captures the classic New York diner experience. Walking inside feels like stepping back in time, with its vintage design, comfortable seating, and nostalgic charm. It’s easy to see why this establishment has been serving American comfort food since 1946. The combination of history and character makes dining here feel special.

Another thing that impressed me was the massive menu. There are so many choices that everyone can find something they love. During my visit, I had the opportunity to try several items, including the pancakes, milkshake, steak, and omelette. Every dish exceeded my expectations. The pancakes were fluffy, fresh, and perfectly cooked. The milkshake was thick, creamy, and full of flavor. The steak was tender, juicy, and cooked exactly as requested, while the omelette was generously filled and incredibly satisfying.

Beyond the excellent food, the service was equally impressive. The server was friendly, attentive, and professional throughout the meal. They checked on us regularly, made sure everything was perfect, and created a welcoming atmosphere that made the experience even more enjoyable.

Overall, Court Square Diner is everything you want from a classic American diner: delicious food, generous portions, a huge menu, excellent service, and a charming retro environment. It’s a place that delivers both quality and consistency. I highly recommend Court Square Diner to anyone visiting Long Island City or looking for an authentic New York diner experience. I will definitely be returning to try even more items from their fantastic menu

You can see them make your own food, the desert choices look appetizing on display, and the smell is surprisingly always fresh

TONS of choices with the menu, service was QUICK, and the speed of the employees here when it comes to unpacking is just as so

It's not fully on the absolute "fancy" side, but it's a very comfortable place for food & a nice break overall

Food waiting time for 4 people took ~22 minutes, which mind you is NOT a long time for this much people !! It went by surprisingly quick too, the food we got (burgers, french toast, sundaes) were very fresh
They even grilled the tomatoes!!!!!
100% coming back, goated service and everything

Had a solid breakfast here. Got seated right away and within minutes I ordered. Got a side of eggs which were cooked perfectly. Also ordered chocolate chip pancakes that were also done properly. Great meal, no frills, exactly what you need from a diner.

This diner has been an establishment here in Queens. We were seated right away and served coffee. We ordered waffles and scrambled eggs. Everything was great! If you’re looking for a place to have breakfast or brunch I’d recommend this place.

We had to wait around 40 minutes to be seated, and while I understand that Diners are bound to be quite full during Sunday Brunch (rush hour), I didn’t think the long wait was worth it. While I didn’t mind the wait to be seated, I did at least expect some great food. But unfortunately it was just ok to me. It wasn’t bad at all, but I found it very mediocre.

I had the French toast and after eating it I feel like I could’ve went to any other place and got the same thing. It reminded me of the French toast I used to eat at motels as a kid. Again, the food wasn’t bad it just wasn’t anything special—I just don’t think it’s anything worthwhile for a 30-45 minute waiting period.

I will say once you are seated they tend to you very fast. Almost 2 minutes after ordering drinks, the drinks came. And not even 15 minutes after ordering, the food came. So they are very quick with the service. That’s a plus.

Classic diner with a comprehensive 6+ page menu, generous portions, and booth seating with a retro vibe.

We ordered the burger and fish & chips, both of which came with abundant amount of fries, and was cooked to the American style. The hot chocolate and coffee (refills included) hit the spot.

The diner is conveniently located right next to Court Square subway station and Trader Joe’s. It’s open 24/7. On the weekend, there is typically a wait, where you put your name down and wait until they call you.

best pancakes i’ve ever had at a diner. the servers are the absolute best and most attentive staff i’ve ever seen work a floor, carrying up to 6 plates is just phenomenal work. the food is pretty darn delicious though the omelette and potato’s were a bit cold the flavor was there and i think overall i would want to come back here all the time if i lived closer. can’t wait to come back for my birthday

I find Diners fascinating... and recently decided to only dine at diners on my 'me days'.

Anyways, went into Court Square with high hopes as the reviews are amazing. Expectation were met if not exceeded.

Soon as I walked in, I was greeted with smile from the hostess and sat at comfortable, spacious booth. A waitress brought a glass of iced water right away, which i had to substitute for no ice (its really cold right now to be drinking ice water)

I was given ample time with menu, thank you for not rushing me Court Square (stay tuned for next diners review).

I chose the 'Grill Chicken Triple decker' substituted with turkey bacon. It came with the fries, coleslaw and pickles. The sandwich was great. A little to much tomatoes for my liking, but you can always take it out.
Loved the fries; long, crispy and yummy. Overall, great portions of food, not so much that you are stuffed and not so little that you are barely filled.

Service was amazing, atmosphere was fantastic. All in all, a great lunch.

Amazing place! Food, service and vibe were all great. Onions soup was the best we have ever eaten.
Felt like a scene from an 80s movie. Highly recommended, and we’ll definitely be coming back!

Got there around 1 am and had no wait time. Was able to order and food came out quick. Food was amazing! Pancake was one of the best I’ve ever had. Also brought out the soda with a lemon, which tasted amazing.

Very kind service, and an authentic American diner experience. Locals and tourists alike should visit. Menu was extensive, and everything tasted GOOD. Not your usual “decent diner food”. I had the best Belgian waffle here I’ve ever had, and everything was absolutely delicious. Truly authentic American cuisine.

The diner has a super chill vibe, great customer service, and the food comes out fast. I've been here for breakfast and even stopped by late at night for a chocolate shake, always hits the spot. Plus, it’s a true 24/7 spot, which is rare and appreciated.
