Columbus Diner

First time at Columbus Diner. The staff was very friendly, and everyone affectionately referred to all of the customers as dear, sweetie, love, etc. which added a sprinkle of southern charm to the atmosphere, even if unintended. The food was good. My boyfriend didn't care for the chicken noodle soup, but he's rather particular about his soups. He otherwise had a standard breakfast with some extra meats, and I had the meat lovers omelette with some add ins. We both enjoyed our meals. I'm sure if we're in the area again we will eat at Columbus Diner.

I keep trying to find something here that I like and it just isn't happening. I went for dessert and the Oreo French Toast didn't convince me to come back. Service is always great, but the food isn't. The whipped cream didn't taste "real" or like fresh cream. The cookie crumbles, were NOT real oreos. Marketing needs to just say 'cookies & cream' waffle. There wasn't real butter flavor, unclear what the waffle was made or topped with white cooking or in the end. The portion size was cool, can't say it was the challah bread from the menu.

I had such a great experience at Columbus Diner! The French toast with bananas and strawberries was absolutely delicious, perfectly sweet and fresh. The bacon was crispy to perfection, just how I like it. On top of the amazing food, the service was great!

Good chicken wrap, I’d go again to try more food. It felt nice n cozy in there. Next time I’ll grab a booth

The diner is located in Mount Vernon, New York. Customers have a large free parking lot for their vehicles. They primarily serve American style cuisine. Breakfast options including eggs, omelets, pancakes and waffles, soups 🍲, salads 🥗, appetizers, sandwiches, wraps, paninis, hamburgers, pasta, Italian specialties, Spanish quesadillas, entrees, sides, desserts 🍨 and beverages ☕️ are available. We ordered eggs benedict, a cheese omelet, pancakes and grits. The food was tasty and well-prepared. Friendly and helpful staff.

I love this place. The food is always great. The servers are always nice.

Susana was my waitress here today. I ordered the steak & eggs w/side of French toast & bacon. Exactly what I ordered they got all right. This place is right across from Dunkin’ but I love the space & atmosphere here. It’s clean the staff is pleasant & the food is tasty. Don’t miss this gem!

This is one of my favorite diner to visit. The food is delicious, the staff is very polite and the atmosphere is great. I have never had a bad experience since I have been going there. I love going with the whole family or at times with just me and my husband. Either is always a great time.<br>The place is a good size restaurant, intimate and cozy. The have have a good amount of parking available. I highly recommend this place.

We came to New York on a short trip and were excited to try a local diner, since we love exploring these spots when we travel. We found Columbus Diner on Google Maps and the photos looked delicious, but sadly, the food didn’t live up to it. We ordered omelettes, bacon, home fries, and coffee — everything tasted a bit too plain. The only thing I really enjoyed was the cortado. My two friends felt the same way about their meals. The highlight of our visit was the service — our waitress was kind, fast, and very attentive. Great service, but the food missed the mark.

4/16/25 1030 am — I am a diner hopper. This was my first visit to Columbus Diner. Thank you for the Southern Hospitality and Greek Charm. We had the Salisbury Steak special. Every thing was prepared fresh and portions are plentiful. We had enough for brunch and Dinner. Specifically loved the spinach, creamed corn soup, minestrone soup, mixed veggies, garlic bread, and little soft pillows of Salisbury steaks. We took home our chocolate cake and lemon meringue pie. Did I mention the coffee was perfect?! Definitely plan on a second visit to try their pancakes. Recommend for small and large groups, family atmosphere and handicapped friendly. Thank you for the good first impression from this family owned diner.

The host was very pleasant but It took a little time for us to be seated. The server was equally pleasant and took the order timely. The food was good. Very good. It’s a great place for a Sunday brunch. Oh, I had coffee and water, not sure what the drink options are.

Smells fresh, table neat, place looks clean. There is s sit in bar area, which is very appealing and looks well stocked. Menus could take an upgrade. Waitress didn't introduce herself, but when asked, she quickly gave her name. The soup was good. Salad fresh and nice. The pasta was ok. Do not eat the oxtail. It does not have any color or taste, or flavor (what did I expect). The tea cup size is appropriate, and I love that the cup is seen through. The serve was fine,maybe we went with too high hopes. One thing is less from my bucket list. There is wheelchair ramp. Dining table presbt that can accommodate wheelchair as well. Lots of parking, all around the property, as we went during the week, not sure about the weekends, parking is free as well. The parking lot is well lit. Overall, the experience is worth a try.

This was a sper of the moment stop. It was on a Sunday. It was pretty busy so the service was a little slow but not that bad. The waitress was nice. The eggs Benedict was really good and the silver dollar pancakes were on the money! Very fluffy and well cooked. I would go definitely back! I recommend!

Stopped here for a quick lunch on the way home. Overall the experience was pleasant but this dinner still needs work. The place was clean, but had a very pungent smell coming from the kitchen. The food was overdone and the waiter had to be reminded of things left off the order several times. Not my best dinner experience but maybe it was just an off day. So I plan to try them again to see if there are any changes.

Overall experience was okay. I would give a 8/10. Food could be better. The wings were delicious, mash was amazing. The lamb chops needed more seasoning. The milkshakes were incredibly delicious. Atmosphere was so pleasing and welcoming I love it feels like you’re at your family backyard.
