The food was a good fair portion for the price, it was so much. The omelette was probably a good 6-8 eggs. Barely ate half of it before tapping out.<br>The atmosphere was a bit confusing, it doesn’t really trigger “diner” vibes unlike walking into a Waffle House. The walls were all sorts of colors and the lighting gave more of an Italian restaurant.<br>The service was decent; the food came out relatively quickly, but getting the check to leave was slow.

This is our go-to spot for breakfast, brunch, or really any casual meal in Jersey City. We first ordered on Uber Eats and loved it so much we had to try it in person and it did not disappoint.<br><br>They have great booths, solid cocktails, and a comfortable vibe. We always have a great time here, which is why we keep coming back

Food was ok. Not somewhere I would go back if I crave for diner breakfast/brunch. Service and atmosphere was fine.

GREAT VALUE; GREAT OLD DINER AMBIENCE. At 11am on Saturday, this place is bustling! Very proud to have a great ol' American diner in JC! The staffs are kind and courteous. The owner is walking around to make sure all is good. The food was good. Ordered omelette venetian ($20), egg plates ($16), Apple waffle ($18). A little bit pricey but hey the experience is worth it. Total came out to be $87 with tips plus 2.5% credit card processing fee. Would recommend this place to my friends

Do NOT, I repeat, DO NOT get the Southern Fried Chicken here. The 'batter' for the chicken doesn't have any seasoning and is VERY bland and it was not cooked throughout. The coleslaw is absolutely horrendous. The coffee will have you up ALL night long, so that is a plus.<br><br>0/10 Do not recommend.

This review is surprising to us, as our Southern Fried Chicken is one of our most ordered dinner items and is prepared fresh daily with a seasoned, hand-breaded coating. It should never be bland or undercooked, and if something wasn’t right, we absolutely wish you would have alerted a manager on the spot so we could correct it immediately.<br><br>It’s also unusual to hear that both the chicken and coleslaw were “0/10,” especially since many guests enjoy them regularly. We would have gladly replaced your meal or prepared something else to your liking rather than have you leave unhappy.<br><br>If you’re open to giving us another try, please ask for a manager so we can make sure your experience reflects the quality we’re known for. We’re always here to make things right.

Arlene was the sweetest! Good food, great service all around, and all at a good price! I recommend it as it's only a couple minutes away from the skyline view! Will come back again soon.

Edit: It seems there was a misunderstanding with the tips. Owner Lefteris was very meticulous in clearing things up and have promptly refunded us. We really appreciate this, so definitely giving this place a full 5 stars.<br><br>We really LOVED the food, it was our first trip to Jersey City and our first time trying American diner food and this place was a great start to the trip. Really liked the corned beef and hash, goes perfectly well with some hotsauce, and washed down with a cup of freshly squeezed orange juice. Will definitely be back if we are in the area!

Very friendly staff. The host , waiters and staff are great. Very cozy and clean diner. Accommodating staff. The food was very tasty and filling. Nice presentation. Everything looked clean. An enjoyable breakfast !

Checked this place out and the food was so good! Ended up visiting it two different times in a week. Portions are huge and pancakes perfect and fluffy and the potatoes seasoned so good too. The second time around, my husband and I shared a plate because the portions are huge. Priced pretty good too.

Highly recommend City Diner in Jersey City. The prices are great, and it feels very homey and friendly inside the restaurant. Expect some crowds during peak hours, but the service is great regardless of the crowds. The pancakes and the iced lattes are incredible :), and the Nutella French toast is delicious!

Delicious all the way round! Visiting from out of town with family at this lovely restaurant. Ate the hangover burrito however requested it as an omelette! It was excellent. Mocha was very good and family enjoyed the ricotta lemon pancake and Denver omelet. Service was outstanding! Will be back.

I went to this place 3 days in a row cause the food is simply exceptional! I loved their shrimp quesadilla, sweet potatoes fries is just a BIG hit, and their Cobb salad.<br>I wasn’t a big fan of the steak (when I topped my salad off with it) nor the short ribs, but everything else was just PERFECT!!

Although we have been here several times, this is our first time for breakfast. We were not disappointed. In my opinion, it is the best that City Dine has to offer. With elegant and quality service, they also offer a complete breakfast in quality and quantity. The portions are large and easily shared by two people. Definitely something worth trying and, for me, a reason to return.

I had my best dining experience in jersey city at this restaurant. Service is superb very friendly and attentive people work here. Food portions are generous and delicious. Take out and delivery packed carefully. Salads, omelets are super fresh and so healthy for my daily meal. Love their eggs so much. Delivery is always acutely satisfying.
