Ci siamo was a good italian restaurant but i wouldn’t call it the best in the country, claims i had read online.
We had the focaccia bread , fresh from the oven with a dip., which was delicious, 8/10.,ribeye steak 9/10, trout with mustard greens 7/10, musrard greens were a little strong for ny taste. Seafood pasta 6/10, meagre serving of seafood in it and roast chicken 7/10.
service 8/10 and decor and vibe is pleasant, but quite noisy on a Saturday night. So i wouldn’t call it the place to go, if i want to grab a quiet italian dinner.

Overall: loved it, would go back

Went as a gluten free girlie to Yelp’s #1 restaurant in the US 2026. Menu doesn’t explicitly label GF options but the staff was accommodating and there was a lot to work with. They even offer half GF / half regular pasta which was a thoughtful touch.

Standouts:
- GF Rigatoni Alla Gricia — absolute best thing of the night, crispy pork cheek, incredible sauce
- Escarole salad — 10/10, perfectly dressed and lemony
- Smoked Carrots & Grilled Asparagus — don’t sleep on the veggies, genuinely delicious
- Grilled Ribeye — well prepared, marinated mushrooms were the move
- Goats milk lemon gelato — 9.5/10

Skip:
- Roasted Half Chicken — fine but forgettable
- Scallop Tartare — decent, not a wow moment
- Strawberry black pepper gelato — hard no

Drinks: delicious, the Spinosa Strega (mezcal) was good but slightly bitter-heavy

Great spot for GF / celiac diners in NYC - just communicate your restrictions and you’ll be well taken care of.
TL;DR: Crowded Italian spot with pricey but large portions. A bit salty, but good flavors otherwise.
Best dishes: Cast Iron Focaccia or Caramelized Onion Torta to share. Baba Al Rum was also tasty, as was the Orecchiette. Rigatoni was salty, but well-flavored.

I visited a popular Italian restaurant from the Union Square Hospitality group with a group of five others. The restaurant is quite large, and although it was somewhat noisy, the tables were spaced apart enough that it was easy to hear everyone. We had an early dinner at 5:45 PM, which took quite a while, but I didn’t mind. To drink, I went with the Bitter Giuseppe for $19, with Cynar 45.3, Punt e Mes, lemon, and sea salt. I'm a fan of most Negronis, and this was a particularly bitter version. The bit of lemon and sea salt added a unique but enjoyable flavor at the end, though in retrospect, the salt probably wasn't super necessary.

Two of us split, and eventually, a few of us ordered their signature appetizer, the $18 Cast Iron Focaccia, with tomato conserva, a mixture of crushed tomatoes, olive oil, and Calabrian chili. The bread was fresh and warm, albeit a tad oily and salty, but it paired wonderfully with the conserva. As someone who doesn't like it when bread is extra, this was delicious and worth it. Another person ordered the $18 Insalata Verde. It was very large, but fairly basic, with a vinaigrette that had a citrusy and mustardy flavor.

There was also the Caramelized Onion Torta for $27, which was very large, as expected for the price point. It had a creamy and tangy flavor from the Pecorino Toscano with some sweetness from the onion. It was delicious, but very heavy, and I would recommend that around three or four people split it alongside the focaccia. Finally, there was also the $15 Pizza Bianca, which was easily the smallest of all the plates, but they still enjoyed it.

My main dish was the Orecchiette for $26, with ramps, pistachio, and pecorino. Like most of their dishes, the portion size was quite large, with plenty of pasta, which was perfectly cooked. The ramps added a touch of sweetness, although I would have liked a few more nuts. Additionally, there was almost too much pecorino, which made the dish slightly salty, but it was still enjoyable.

As a side, I got the $19 Grilled Asparagus with dates, vermouth, and blue cheese, which came with many pieces of lightly charred asparagus. While there was plenty of funky blue cheese, I would have preferred more dates. Two of the others got the Rigatoni Alla Gricia for $30. The portion was large, and I tried a bit while they tried mine. The noodles were again cooked perfectly, and while there was a lot of guanciale, this was easily the saltiest of all the dishes.

For dessert, I chose their Baba Au Rum for $18, which was uniquely mixed with chocolate and orange. The presentation was a bit off, as it looked like a certain emoji, but the flavor made up for it. The subtle hint of rum paired with the bitter-sweet chocolate and orange. The dark chocolate-covered orange slice on top was a nice touch as well. Someone else got a tart, and one other person got the Gelati, which resulted in one of the only faults during service. She heard it was two scoops, and ordered espresso stracciatella and hazelnut, but was given two separate orders for $12 each. The gelato was good, but unlike most things, definitely not worth it for the price.

I liked the appetizers much more, but I found the food good overall. Tasty dessert, and the portions make up at least a bit for the relatively higher prices.
I’ll go as far as saying Ci Siamo is my favorite Italian spot in NYC after Misi!

Ci Siamo was named the #1 restaurant in the U.S. by Yelp in 2026, and EVERY SINGLE DISH HIT! You HAVE to get the caramelized onion torta, and you really can’t go wrong with any of their pasta.

The vibe is upscale but still cozy, with enough space between tables so it doesn’t feel packed. It’s not that difficult to get a res if you book early.

*Caramelized Onion Torta $27 **
Their signature torta absolutely slaps. One of the best bites I’ve ever put into my mouth. Rich, creamy, and cheesy, almost like a French onion soup in pie form. It’s definitely indulgent, so I’d recommend sharing.

*Marinated Broccoli $18 *
Didn’t expect to fall in love with a veggie dish, but here we are. The broccoli was packed with flavor and finished with smoked chili and crunchy breadcrumbs.

*Rapini Agnolotti $29 **
Stuffed with ricotta just how I liked it. The bright citrusy note from the lemon really lifted the dish and balanced everything well.

*Rigatoni Alla Gricia $30 **
Super satisfying. The guanciale was crispy and savory, and the rigatoni held onto the creamy sauce well.

*Olive Oil Poached Orata $38
Since they’re known for their handmade pasta, the entree didn’t quite wow me. The fish had a few small bones, which threw me off a little.

*Lemon Torta $18
The olive oil meringue was fluffy and light, pairing with the tangy lemon tart. It didn’t leave a strong impression though.

*Torta Calabrese $18 **
I’m usually not a chocolate dessert person, but I actually preferred this over the lemon torta. The combo of espresso gelato and rich dark chocolate cake was a match made in heaven. I loved the slight bitterness in it.
Incredible meal with my best friends! Had a concert at MSG right after this meal and the staff was just so helpful with getting the courses out in a curated way. I would say our favorites were the carpaccio tonnato, focaccia (Wow hands down THE FLUFFIEST), orcecchiette with ramps, and onion tart (GIANT portion! So happy), and we absolutely loved the rainbow cookie and mint white chocolate gelato at the end. Excellent meal from start to finish, with really helpful and accommodating staff. Thanks Danny Meyer - you never cease to be the best host!
Popped in for lunch and besides the clunky not-the-most wheelchair friendly entrance (heavy doors, carpets on the way to access the elevator upstairs), as soon as I got landed in the massive restaurant I was greeted by two very friendly hostesses.

One of them showed me the various table options and I ended up choosing one towards the middle of the large dining area. The place is massive with dozens of tables. The ambiance is power-lunch and dinner central while still being affordable price-wise.

Neither of us were that hungry so we split a few apps including the marinated salmon tonno (like a carpaccio dish), the escarole salad (similar to a Caesar) and the grilled carrots. The tonno and carrots were especially delicious, and the tonno barely was on the table before it was devoured.

Our server was super helpful as well answering questions on the menu. I would surely revisit for Ci Siamo for dinner, minus the inaccessible design choices at the entrance. I was able to give the hostess who helped me on my way out the feedback.
Exceptional service and delicious food. Got the onion torta, rigatoni, and cavatelli. Onion torta was super rich and the crust was insanely flakey, would only recommend for 3+ people! The rigatoni was perfectly salty from the guanciale and black pepper to help offset the saltiness. I’d skip the cavatelli, as it just tasted like chilis with barely any crab. We ended with the lemon tart, also a skip in my opinion. Heads up - if you sit near the kitchen, it’s so so hot inside!

Came here for Valentine's lunch and enjoyed our meal very much. Service was friendly and efficient and food was absolutely marvelous. My wife did a lot of research before choosing Ci Siamo as part of our New York trip itinerary and frankly she nailed it. Ambiance is upscale and bustling but not too loud that you can't have a great time with your wife or partner.

5 stars and two thumbs up!
Ci Siamo is one of those places where you can’t really go wrong no matter what you order!

For apps, we started off with the insalata verde with toasted garlic. I actually loved this salad because it didn’t have too much going on. No major callout here but if you need a tasty green just to say you had one, I’d recommend. Next, and know I’m not usually a fan of goat cheese, I loved the thin layer they added to the bottom of the light yet crispy gnocco frito made for the perfect pairing. Definitely a must order in my opinion. The last starter was the scallop tartare and unfortunately, this was the most disappointing part of the meal. I just felt like it was too fishy, but the texture and citrus within the dish was well balanced.

For our mains, we shared the pappardelle with beef and the cavatelli with spicy crab. Both were a 10/10 so I highly recommend, but if I have to pick between the two I’m leaning more towards the pappardelle… just because the spicy crab had a couple of shells in it.

For dessert, they gave us a complementary glass of white wine as a pallet cleanser to go with our lemon sorbet. Call me crazy but even though the sorbet was refreshing, it was too lemony/sour-y for me (geez I’m making up words).
Came in with high expectations, but it didn’t quite live up to the hype.

Food:
• Cast iron focaccia – outstanding, fluffy with a crisp edge, absolutely worth ordering.
• Braised beans – surprisingly delicious; cozy, savory, and more brothy than expected. Great for a cold day.
• Rigatoni alla Gricia – very rich and pungent; not at all like cacio e pepe. Overwhelming and a miss for me.
• Braised lamb – beautifully plated with solid, well-developed flavor.

Overall: a few strong dishes, but not a must-return spot.
Instantly became one of my favorite restaurants in NYC. Everything is delicious. The Gnocco Fritto is a standout, alongside the rib eye. The focaccia bread is so fresh, no notes. It’s on the pricey side but totally worth it. I made a reservation for the wrong date and they kindly sat us at the bar, best decision, the service was impeccable. I highly recommend Ci Siamo.
Ci Siamo truly raises the bar. From start to finish, the hospitality was world-class. My server, Edda (apologies if I’ve misspelled it!), was superb—knowledgeable, efficient, and a true professional.

The food was nothing short of astounding. The rabbit pasta is extraordinary; I’m already craving it again. Don’t skip the cast iron focaccia, which is phenomenal, and if you're a fan of mortadella, the quality here is top-tier—pairing it with the Gnocco is a must. Even the green salad was a standout. They feature and Italian NA beer that is extraordinary. A lovely touch was the complimentary glass of red wine offered during the elevator ride up. Bravo to the team; I can’t wait for my next visit.
I had such a great experience at Ci Siamo. I was in the city for work, and my aunt from Long Island met me for dinner before I headed back to Boston. My husband had eaten here before while he was in NYC for work and told me I had to try the onion torta—he was absolutely right.

Our server, Jonathan, was truly wonderful. He was so inviting and kind without being overbearing. He helped me choose dishes that worked with my dietary restrictions, and my water glass was never even close to empty before he refilled it. His overall presence was just so pleasant, and he really made us feel taken care of.

The food was amazing—big compliments to Chef Hillary—and honestly the whole staff made the entire experience feel special. I’ll definitely be coming back, and I’m happy to recommend Ci Siamo to anyone looking for a great dinner in NYC.
We thought the food was good at this very hot Italian. Cod over the Trout - carrots, potatoes and the onion torta are a must. Corkage fee not bad if you want to raid your wine cellar not theirs. Prices very reasonable if you avoid the meat dishes and stick to the pasta. Service was excellent- great suggestions- ask for the waiter with the peanuts watch. Fun place to go for the night. Don’t forget to hit the free wine in the elevator up!
We visited Ci siamo a few days ago and really enjoyed it! The place itself is beautiful and has a great atmosphere. The food was delicious and very interesting, everything we tried was full of flavor.

The only downside is that the main dishes took a bit longer to arrive, so if you’re in a rush, keep that in mind. Otherwise, it’s a wonderful place to relax and enjoy a great meal. We’ll definitely be back
