Had to wait 15mins to be seated as they are very popular. The service and staff are brilliant. We went twice the 1st time I had the pancakes with blueberries and strawberries. Then I had the 3 egg omelette. My belly was full and they top up your drinks cold or hot. Great place to go eat. My sister had the burrito omelette and she said it was divine. Well done l.

Decided to dine here after a weekday broadway show. For the area they are opened the latest. Carnegie Diner. Not to be mistaken with Carnegie Deli. lol. The corner restaurant appears bright open and inviting. It was late and there were plenty of open seats. They sat us at a small two person table along the bench at the wall. Later other couples would come in and they would pack us in the same area even though there were other tables open. No need for that. Made the dining experience uncomfortable. But I digress.
I went with the egg strami sandwhich. It was good. Expensive but that’s what you get for the area, and convenience. The pastrami was good. The egg on top a nice addition. It was enough for me to take half home for lunch the next day. The fries were greasy so I went easy on eating them. The salad was good. Came with a raspberry vinegar. We also went with the fried chicken sandwich. The chicken patty was thin and overcooked for my taste. Was thin like a veal cutlet. The chicken was rough to bite. Dry and not Juicey at all. See pic. Service was ok. He came around and asked us how we were doing but paused when I asked for a coffee refill. I could tell he was just going through the motions. He was quick however with pulling out the credit card machine when it was time to pay. And Ofcourse the tip options were already there. 22, 20, 18 percent. What happened to 15? Hmmm Anyway. It was a good meal and I had a good time.
Incredible service and food!! Went a couple weeks ago and after a long night of traveling decided to go here. Our party got the roasted chicken, breakfast plate, French toast and wagyu burger and it was all soo good! The cookies and hot chocolate were incredible too!

We had one minor issue (nothing serious or crazy) and made them aware just so they were aware of that issue (made it very clear we were not complaining) and the manager came over and covered our full bill! We insisted on paying and he downright refused (we still absolutely tipped our waitress even though she tried to turn that down too) I’ve never experienced insanely great customer service like that anywhere else and will come back to this establishment every time I go to NY!
I like coming here, but this particular time was a bummer. Don't order the Farmer’s Blue salad if you don't want to get as disappointed as I was. The roasted beets were just some canned ones, the hazelnuts turned into hard impossible to bite chickpeas, the dry figs were extra dry and sugar-coated, the salmon too dry & bitter; and yes, too much blue cheese and nothing on the plate to balance the sharp flavor. I will never order fancy salads at a diner ever again…
Response from the owner
Hi Dumitrita, thank you for your feedback. We’re sorry to hear this visit did not meet expectations, especially with the Farmer’s Blue salad. We appreciate you bringing this to our attention and will share your comments with our team.
Cute little diner with a nice vibe, but the service was a bit slow during our visit. The vegan meatballs were okay, but not flavorful enough, and the sauce didn’t mix well with them. The pesto pasta was good.

The chocolate pancake strawberry milkshake was definitely a highlight. It was delicious, and the presentation was really nice. The strawberry mule was decent as well.

Overall, we enjoyed the visit, and it seems like other items on the menu might hit the spot more. That said, it didn’t quite feel worth the price.

Thank you for sharing your feedback, Shivangi. We appreciate your honest notes about the vegan meatballs, service timing, and value. Your feedback is helpful and will be shared with our team as we continue improving. We hope you’ll give us another try in the future.
We stopped here after a show on Broadway and I wasn't that impressed. I had the organic roast chicken which was pretty dry and the Greek fries were just normal fries with huge square chunks of feta cheese. Definitely a lot of food but not great. It was a nice seating area and this was conveniently close and open later but otherwise I probably wouldn't come back here.

Wonderful experience! Everything was excellent — the food was fresh and flavorful, the burger was perfectly cooked, the fries were crispy, and the presentation was great. The atmosphere felt cozy and welcoming.

A special thank you to the manager, Tasso — he was incredibly kind, attentive, and genuinely caring. You can truly feel that he wants guests to have a great experience. Service like this makes all the difference.

We will definitely be coming back 🤍
This place is a true gem for anyone seeing a show or just exploring Midtown. It has that classic, old school diner feel but with a really solid menu and great energy. We stopped in after a concert for a late dinner and were seated right away
Response from the owner
Izzy, thank you so much for the wonderful review! We’re thrilled to hear you enjoyed the classic diner atmosphere. We hope to see you again soon.
Loved the seat where we sat upstairs. The view from the window was very satisfying. Food was great. Service was very high-end. Price was reasonable, considering the experience in the location. Thoroughly enjoyed and would recommend to anyone visiting the area.
We were in the area for a Broadway show. We had made reservations, so when we arrived we were taken to a table immediately. The menu is very expansive, anyone could find something they’d like. All the food and drinks we had were delicious and good sized portions. Our waitress was Lexie who was extremely friendly and professional. She made sure we had a positive and comfortable experience. Highly suggest!
Went at 3 Sunday afternoon, not busy. Seated right away, took 15 minutes for waiter to get around to us, others seated after us had already ordered by the time our waiter bothered. Food came out and was not hot. The corned beef and pastrami, Peters special - I have never had corned beef and pastrami that was so totally tasteless. The bread was soggy and only one side was toasted. The person with me got chicken and waffles, also served luke warm. The chicken was greasy like the oil was not hot enough to actually fry it. Waffle was dry. Waiter never came back, all this dry food and can't even get water refilled. It's NYC, you have to be able to do corned beef and pastrami! I have with this review after both of us in our party finished eating and waiting for a waiter to come release is from this prison with our check. There are much better places to eat for the same price within a block.
Carnegie Diner & Cafe on 8th Ave is exactly the kind of big, bold, very American NYC dining experience you hope for in Manhattan. I had the pastrami burger and it was delicious and rich, indulgent, and absolutely hit the spot. Fries were pretty basic, but honestly the main event more than made up for it.

Service was fantastic from start to finish. I made a reservation on OpenTable and I’m really glad I did because the place was packed. The menu is huge, the portions are massive, and the dessert case is pure fun! I went with the strawberry cheesecake and it did not disappoint. So rich!

Great spot for tourists or first-time visitors to NYC who want a classic, energetic diner experience right in the middle of it all.
These guys were great. We only had half an hour to eat before our bus trip and they got us our wings and our mozzarella sticks in time and a couple of nice beers and the pricing was really good and the stuff was really friendly. Our serve Victoria was great and so were the people at the reception desk, very happy and would definitely recommend this place and the buffalo wings and the mozzarella sticks were really nice and the beer, local New York beer was amazing. Definitely recommend this place five stars.!!

To add to this fantastic experience it was really busy and we told them we only had half an hour and we got our food really fast as well. We actually got out with three minutes to spare, really good professional people and like I said the food was amazing.

We need more people like this in Australia!!!

I even taught the guy on the Desk how to say Melbourne correctly LOL
We came here for the NYC marathon and this has been our daily breakfast place. The food is really good and the ingredients feel really fresh.

Desiree our restaurant hostess was really helpful and always had a beaming smile on her face. Really helpful when you come limping with the post race cramps ! She would accommodate us even at the bar counter for breakfast

Have ordered their Pastrami, their eggs Benedict, pancakes, french toast and their omlettes. All were brilliant and fresh. The serving size is very generous

Don’t think twice before visiting this place

Warm, friendly, great food and service with a smile !
There's just something nostalgic about dining in the Carnegie Diner. It's like going back to a bygone era. This location is great for grabbing a bite before or after a show. Menu offers a good selection of deli and entrees. Service was prompt, and courteous. And surprisingly, plenty of seating available while we were there. Would love to have dessert there, but simply no room left.

The location is very convenient to the theatres, Radio City Music Hall, and Rockefeller center. All within a few blocks. There are several locations within Manhattan.
