Would rate higher than 5 stars if I could. Everything is exceptional. Great staff that make you feel at home, great service, amazing food and generous portions. Even the drink I got called “The Big Apple” was one of the best drinks I’ve ever had. The pancakes were so fluffy and the best pancakes I’ve ever had. The omelet as well was one of the best I’ve had. We will be coming back before we leave NYC.

This was our first trip to New York. We were looking for a restaurant for breakfast and found Carnegie's on Google. The pictures don't lie. You get huge portions. Great value for your money. The food was utterly delicious. The management, possibly the owners have a very streamlined system. The staff is wonderful. We went all 3 days we were in town. I wholeheartedly recommend this place for breakfast, lunch and dinner. We will definitely come back when we come back New York.

Amazing food. Friendly staff. Fast service. Highly recommend visiting during happy hour for some amazing deals. The wings are big and tasty. The chicken kale Caesar is fresh and delicious. Will return for sure!

Got our Mother’s Day brunch here and it was delicious!!
The place was packed but they were able to accommodate our group of 5 after a short wait.
Service was superb, the only thing is that the atmosphere was a bit loud and hectic because of the amount of people visiting that day which is understandable.
I highly recommend you make a reservation ahead of time.

Loved this cafe! Cozy atmosphere, amazing breakfast, and huge portions. The pastrami sandwich was incredible — definitely a must-try. Friendly service and a great overall vibe. There can be a wait during busy hours, but it’s completely worth it. Thank you for the wonderful experience — we can’t wait to come back again!

I had an amazing experience at Carnegie Diner 💛

I visited in February 2025, and from the very first time we loved it so much that we kept coming back all week—for both breakfast and dinner. It was our first time there, and it truly exceeded all our expectations.

The manager was incredibly kind and welcoming, always attentive and making sure we had a great experience. One day, he even surprised us with complimentary pancakes for being regulars that week, which made everything even more special 🥞✨

The food was delicious, the atmosphere was great, and the entire team provided excellent service. It was such a beautiful experience—we had an amazing time.

Huge thanks to the manager and the whole staff for making us feel so welcome! I highly recommend it. Don’t leave without trying the marble loaf 🤍

Went for the pancakes and they were absolutely delicious!!!
Ordered the classic buttermilk pancake stack and it was amazing. Definitely a gourmet but still classic diner pancake. Diner was super full and had a modern diner feel. Will definitely come back!

Forgot to review this place. Came and had the steak and eggs -- twice -- second time, I asked for poached with hallandaise sauce -- a great idea. But it wouldn't have been anything without the perfectly cooked, tender steak and delicious sides. Best steak and eggs I can remember having. Yes, it's a madhouse, but despite that, the food was perfect and once you're sat, you're golden.

I’ll start by saying that this has become my favorite spot for every Monday. From the moment you walk in, you can feel the friendliness and warmth of the staff. The atmosphere is pleasant, and it’s a great place to gather with both friends and family. And what can I say about the food? Wow—it’s spectacular; it never disappoints me. I usually like to order the burger—the meat is fresh, which is a huge plus for me—but the salads are great too, and the French toast... wow! 🤩 Delicious. I’m already on my fifth visit. I recommend it 100%. Of course, there is a wide variety of food and drinks available, and I know those are delicious as well.

5 Stars

We stopped by for brunch on a marathon Sunday, and despite the massive crowds, the experience was fantastic. A huge shoutout to the staff for being so family-friendly—they saw we had kids and prioritized our seating, which made our morning so much easier!

The Southern Buttermilk Fried Sandwich is easily one of the best in town. My son had the Corner Burger, which was incredibly juicy; those caramelized onions were a masterful touch. Even though it was loud and high-energy due to the race, the kids loved the atmosphere. Great food, great drinks, and even better service. We’ll be back.

This place is awesome for breakfast with a great selection from their menu. Upon arriving, the manager was very welcoming and sat us at our table. We ordered their poached Eggs Benedict (salmon option), egg cheese pastrami sandwich along with a strawberry milk shake and OJ which were all incredibly yummy. Appreciated the team’s attention to detail and friendliness. Our food was served hot which was great for the cold weather. Highly recommend anyone considering dining at this place… and yes, we gave a good tip when paying our bill of course ! Thank you for a lovely dining experience in NYC :) Highly recommend.

Response from the owner

We went out for dinner at Carnegie Diner.
The food was excellent — truly delicious.

But above all, it was Christina’s service that made our evening. Her warm smile and genuinely positive attitude elevated the entire experience.

We will definitely be coming back to eat here again.

I celebrated my 30th birthday here and Crystal was fighting a headache but still provided EXCELLENT service to us! She was very friendly. Nick the Manager, made me feel special by bringing the crew over and singing HBD and giving me a slice of 12 layer chocolate cake. Food was superb, service was awesome!

Response from the owner

Thank you, Makayla! We are so honored you chose to celebrate with us. We look forward to celebrating with you again soon.

My boyfriend found this place on TikTok and shared it with me, and I’m really glad he did. They offer mocktails, which I appreciated since I’m not drinking for the month of January—very considerate of him for thinking of me.

I had the Cucumber Fresh mocktail and it was delicious. My brother ordered the Bee-Hind mocktail, which was on the sweeter side but not overly sweet. My boyfriend had the Redfreshment—it was a bit bitter, but I actually liked that since I enjoy bitter flavors.

For food, I ordered the Southern chicken and waffles, and that was the best decision. I loved that the chicken was in strips. My only complaint was the service: the waiters gave us plenty of space, which is nice, but they didn’t really check in on us as often as I would’ve liked.

The atmosphere was comfy and cute. Overall, I’d give this restaurant a 4/5.

Loved this place. Very convenient to Central Park South and hotels. Carnegie Hall is right the street. While I was there, a musician came in with her cello and got some takeout.

I had a breakfast omelette, which was delicious. Super friendly staff - Nick, the Maître d’ , greeting me like I was a regular customer and made me feel right at home. I met some locals there… always a good sign. Raquel was my server, who was attentive without rushing things.

Carnegie has a cool vibe, with photos of some of Carnegie’s famous artists on the walls. I happen to be seated near a poster of Charlie Parker one of my personal favorites.

Overall a wonderful, relaxing experience.
