I been eating here for a awhile now the food never disappoints me and the service is great

Update 4-8-26: My son wanted me to give it another chance and we did, just him and me, only 2 people, nobody else just us 2. The service again was totally awful. First the waitress takes our order and that was the last time we saw her until we were ready to leave and she was literally sitting in a table joking around with another employee and what look like regulars who were eating what looked like take out food. A second waitress after awhile was the one that bought our food to the table and of course one of the orders was wrong. After that nobody ever came back to see if we wanted refills or desert nothing, mind you the first waitress still goofing around in another table. When we got up to leave that's when the waitress that took our order decides to stop goofing around and brings our check, all this from start to finish 1 hour 20 minutes. In my first review someone from this location wrote to me that tips are only included for groups, obviously that person has no idea what a group is because we again 2 people hot charged the tip when nobody deserved a tip. Horrible service I do not recommend it at all, and no where do y hry inform that they charge the tip. Worst place to dine. Never again. Attach receipt, also added the complaints of other customers being charged without being told and where to make an official report against this location.<br><br>Update: Someone from this location sent a message regarding my review indicating that they only charge gratuity to groups. This is something I'm aware of since the 80s, but a group is 8+ of people. I couldn't respond to the message, so I'll respond here. It was only 4 of us, my son, his girlfriend, a friend, and myself. If this is considered a group, then signs should be put up so customers are aware that even when receiving bad service, they're forced to leave a tip.<br>=============================<br>The reason I will not visit again is because they automatically charge you the gratuity, and the waitress did not deserve it. She took our order, brought it to the table, and never came back. Tips are not an obligation to give, and the business should not be allowed to charge it. Tips shouldn't be put on my check automatically. Bad service is not rewarded. Restaurants that do this I do not return too and I never recommend it. Restaurants like this should never be visited or given any business at all.

My favorite place to eat. When I am entertaining - I cater fro. There. Food is always great. Best sangria in town. Mon - Thursday (buy 1 get one free) you must come and try.

I have several different experiences with Caridad because I am a repeat customer whether I order food for delivery or pickup. I usually order takeout from restaurants in my area because I am not able to cook where I reside so this is a consistent thing for me. I've increasingly have had negative and rude experiences with the staff as they take my order. They'll pick up the phone, place me on hold and have sent me the wrong item due to the loudness in the background making it hard for them to hear when I place an order. Today I ordered and recieved the only attitude from the woman taking my order and was hung up on as I asked for the total price. I refuse to continue to pay for subpar service. I am not begging for food, I am a paying and consistent customer. I no longer wish to support businesses that do not take customer service and satisfaction seriously. ✌🏽

There were maggots in the beans. I called and they told me it was impossible and refused to help resolve the issue of providing a refund.

The customer service for black people ain’t it. That lady looked at me like I did something to her while I was waiting to be called. I had JUST walked in it was crowded and then she asked me (in the tiny space where you can see everyone walk in) “Did you place an order yet?” With the nastiest attitude. She made me feel like I shouldn’t be there. I came in with my fair skinned Dominican friend who pointed out that I got treated that way because I was darker. She also mentioned that the worker was nicer to her when she ordered. It’s 2025. Why are we treating people like this? I came in there to spend money in YOUR establishment, and that’s how you treat me? As a black woman? I serve YOUR community, and that’s how you treat me? I don’t even want to food anymore. I would have disputed the charge, but I’m a woman of God, and I rather WARN other black people instead. Y’all can have the money, I pray you consider how you treat people. Do better.

Boneless chicken chunks had lots of flavor that the only reason it gets one stars instead of one. The chicken chunks had so much grease in the tray. The salad ingredients tasted so nasty that I notice they had gone bad yuck. The only thing that tasted decent was the rice. Never again will I be ordering from here again.

My go to place for over 30 years! Back in the days, it was a hole in the 🧱 wall. Very small and now it's upgraded with a big selection of 🍷 wines. Everything is delicious and nicely served with fresh garlic 🍞 bread. Area is not the best, but they have free parking lot in back. Just be sure to tip the guys, they are very good watching our vehicles.

I used to live a block away from this restaurant . Now I reside in Florida but every time I come back to visit my family in the Bronx I make sure to come back and eat here. Our waitress is always happy to see us and she actually recognized us and we haven’t been there in almost four years. Food is always amazing , that has not changed , the staff is happy, welcoming and friendly, that hasn’t changed . Highly recommended!

The atmosphere was nice as me and my family and I walked in. The service was ehh okay since they forgot a drink to bring in, and my cousin dont like the service since they bring rice only and have to wait for a couple of minutes to bring the beans to him. And i ordered mofongo de queso. It came out dry and not so good taste. The others ordered steak, and 2 of them came out good, but one of them came out raw undercooked. When cooking it again, it came out raw again, but there was a piece that was cooked, and it was supposed to be well done. Tostones is good. i recommended getting it, and fries are good also.<br><br>!! > AND BECAREFUL they automatically added tips in your check. They just put 15 percent tip of our check. We should be able to add our own tip. <<

I have been coming to Caridad for a good 40years.. same location. Same greatness. I love it here. I no longer live in the city however, when I am around I always make a quick stop for chicharronde pollo.. delish.

As a Latina, I'm very picky about Dominican restaurants. That being said, the food was delicious! The food was fresh, and was hot when we received it at the table. The chicken was juicy, and nicely baked. The customer service was excellent. The waitress was very charismatic, and was bilingual (English + Spanish).
