Canto is adorable!! Came for my birthday and enjoyed my experience. Drinks were top notch, and the food was delish! Isaac was our server and the host welcoming and seating guests. Was so impressed with his service. He was welcoming and engaged even with a full restaurant. You can tell the team at Canto enjoys working; they helped each other out seamlessly. Can get a little loud during brunch, but if looking for a cute and yummy brunch spot. I definitely recommend Canto.

Canto was definitely a spot I had been wanting to try for weeks, and yes, it was 100% because of their frozen espresso martinis. I had seen so much hype around them and honestly they completely lived up to expectations. I made everyone at the table order one and not a single person regretted it. It was genuinely one of the best espresso martinis I’ve ever had. The texture was smooth and almost dessert-like, the sweetness was perfect without being overpowering, and somehow it still packed enough alcohol to get me very tipsy without having that harsh alcoholic taste. It was super unique and honestly worth coming here for alone.

Of course we ordered food too, and thankfully the food matched the drinks. Me and another person both got the truffle gnocchi, I added chicken to mine while she added shrimp to hers. Both dishes were absolutely delicious. The gnocchi was soft, rich, and perfectly coated in the truffle sauce without feeling too heavy. My chicken was cooked perfectly and her shrimp tasted fresh and paired really well with the dish too.

Another person at the table ordered the seafood pasta (I can’t remember the exact name), but I did try a few bites and it was honestly amazing. The seafood tasted really fresh, especially the mussels, and the pasta itself had so much flavor without tasting overly salty or fishy like seafood pastas sometimes can.

One of my friends also ordered the burger with truffle fries, and that ended up being another standout dish. The burger was cooked perfectly, juicy, flavorful, and actually looked as good as it tasted. The truffle fries were crispy, well seasoned, and honestly impossible not to keep stealing off his plate.

I will say this is definitely a place where you NEED reservations because the restaurant itself is tiny and gets extremely busy. Since it’s such a small spot, service can take a while. We waited around 20 minutes just to get our drink order taken, another 20 minutes for someone to come take our food order, and then about 30 minutes for the food itself to come out. So you definitely need a little patience when dining here because it’s a bit of a waiting game.

That being said, the staff was still friendly, the atmosphere was lively and cozy, and overall the experience absolutely lived up to the expectations I had going in. Between the amazing food and that frozen espresso martini that I genuinely cannot stop thinking about, Canto is definitely a spot I’d come back to again.

Loved this place! We went on a Saturday night and waited a bit (as to be expected), but the host was very kind and got us in as soon as he could especially when we didn’t have a reservation. Once we sat down, service was outstanding. Our drinks and food came out very quick, and our waiter Teo was amazing. The food was delicious and their frozen espresso martini was to die for!

Came to Canto for the martini happy hour and had such a fabulous time. We sat at the bar and chatted with Teo during happy hour — he made AMAZING drinks, was so attentive, and truly made the experience. Vibes were 10/10 from start to finish. Can’t wait to come back!🍸

Teo & Jonathan are INCREDIBLE. The service was amazing. Drinks were made very well. They have the best happy hour in the city. A must-stop if you’re ever in the city or worth the trip if you’re outside the city.

Response from the owner

Great photos, Christian, and thank you for letting us know that Teo and Johnathan made a fabulous impression. Hope to welcome you again!

I had the best Valentine's Day at Canto. The vibes, food, and drinks were delicious! The staff was so kind, especially Ana, our waitress. For the girlies, the frozen espresso martini is a must-try! Will definitely be coming back. What an amazing time 💖💖💖

Small spot but very efficient with the space. Staff was accommodating with our stroller and little one. Drinks were great, portions were good size, menu had options for everyone. Will be back.

There was quite a long wait despite having a reservation (about 45 minutes), but given the restaurant’s stellar reputation and impeccable ambiance, it’s easy to see why guests are happy to linger. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting—tables are close together, which only adds to the charm—and every dish we tried was outstanding. My group shared several appetizers and entrées to sample a bit of everything, and not a single bite disappointed. And of course, the frozen espresso martinis—the entire reason we came to Canto—absolutely lived up to the hype. Highly recommend giving Canto a try; it’s well worth the wait!!

A well-decorated and intimate Italian restaurant in West Village. We ordered the vodka rigatoni and ravioli dishes, and they were both amazing! It’s also on the more affordable side compared to other restaurants in the area. The only downside was the service. We had reservations, but still had to wait a bit. Then when we were actually seated, we received the window/bar seats instead of a table.

to start with positives, the cucumber mocktail was delicious - my favorite thing. but the chicken milanese was a bit overcooked, it was really hard to cut even with the steak knife. other then that, it was a great salad on top. the fries were not seasoned at all so i needed to ask for salt and pepper. and the reason why it’s 3 stars is because the service wasn’t great. the servers did not know what was going on, multiple different people asked for our orders and got confused when we said it was taken - similar with the check and again when getting to go boxes. we didn’t have a consistent server the whole time and it messed up the communication of our meal

Solid drink menu: frozen espresso martini was very good. Pasta was good too. We didn’t have reservation and didn’t have to wait… so it’s great if you’re spontaneous type. Atmosphere was pretty and we loved the Christmas decor but seating is tight (tables were very close to one another). Service was great and overall pleasant experience.

Response from the owner

Love the photos, Amandip, and looks like you ordered some of the favorites. Hope to see you soon!

Canto West Village is such a beautiful, cozy little restaurant with a great vibe. The food was really good, the lasagna alla bolognese and the shrimp pasta both hit the spot. The espresso martini and raspberry spritzer were absolutely delicious, and our waitress was very kind and attentive.

The only downside was that, even with a reservation, we weren’t given a table. We were seated in a small corner at the bar, and it was a bit uncomfortable since our plates could barely fit. Other than that, we enjoyed the experience and the food.

This place was very intimate and very cute. The food was great, and our server Devon was so sweet and attentive. Always had a smile :) A lot of great options to eat, and the atmosphere was so pleasant. It’s also in a beautiful part of the city. Highly recommend

Food was delicious! They start by giving you bread with sauce that was amazing. We got the arancini to share with our group for an app. They have a solid drink menu, really enjoyed the lemoncello martini I got! For dinner I had the lobster ravioli. Finished the whole thing, flavor was amazing. We had a reservation since we had 4 people. It was very busy when we showed up but the atmosphere was cozy and upbeat. Pretty tight inside very close to other tables but really cute inside. They do have bar seating as well!
