I really wanted to love Cafe Mogador given the hype, but it ended up being “mid." While the atmosphere is undeniable, the food and value just don't keep pace with the reputation. The Lamb Shank with Couscous was a letdown. While the meat was tender enough to fall off the bone, it was surprisingly bland—it lacked that deep, aromatic spice punch you expect from a Moroccan tagine. It felt more like a standard pot roast than something special. The Chicken Bastilla (pie) was fine, but a bit dry and one-note, and the Grilled Halloumi was a total budget-killer: $16 for exactly three small slices of cheese is a tough pill to swallow. The only real highlight was the Eggplant Dip, which was creamy and well-seasoned, but it’s not enough to carry the whole meal.

I’ve long been a fan of Cafe Mogador on St. Marks Place, so I was eager to visit their Williamsburg location for a dear friend’s birthday celebration. The space is beautiful and much more expansive than the Manhattan original, providing a lovely backdrop for a group gathering.
While the atmosphere was vibrant, the culinary experience didn't quite reach the heights I’ve come to expect from the brand. The food was perfectly fine, though it lacked that "wow" factor that usually defines their dishes. However, what the kitchen lacked in flair, the staff more than made up for in exceptional hospitality.
Our server, Dimi A, was truly impeccable. Managing a lively group of eight is no small feat, yet she handled every request with grace, patience, and a genuine smile. She ensured our birthday celebration felt special and seamless from start to finish. If you’re looking for a spot with top-tier service and a spacious environment for a group hangout, this location is a solid choice—even if the flavors felt a bit more understated this time around.

TLDR; Apparently this is a local favourite and I can see why, even as a tourist. The flat bread is absolutely perfection and the various dips, like the labneh, is a must try! Staff were also very attentive and polite. Only downside is side is some things are a little pricey for what you get. The camomile tea is a good example, literally just a tea bag that you have to put in yourself for 5 bucks.

yea it’s bussin. for the culinary mecca that nyc is, it’s pretty hard to find good middle eastern / north african food. mogador isn’t 10000% authentic but it’s a reallly great modern fusion. the food smack eat time. been here hella times w my family, who are some of the pickiest eaters ever

Very good Moroccan food in the middle of Williamsburg. All the dishes we ordered were delicious. Nice mix of people in a pretty setting.

Charming, friendly, pleasant atmosphere, fresh, flavorful, wonderfully prepared dishes. Had the sausage couscous, loved it. If you enjoy middle eastern flavors seek this place out. The decor, good service, and outstanding dishes will deliver a delightful dining experience.

Food was delish! We ate the hummus was the best part of the meal. Ate it before we could get a pic of it. We went between lunch and dinner so missed the rush, which made it quieter.

I love the restaurant and atmosphere but I just felt like it lacked a bit of flavor😭 My husband loves the food and flavor, though and it seems like most do too! I dont know, I just felt like the tagines wasnt as flavorful as I was expecting, the Middle Eastern Breakfast too.

Always a fantastic experience at both locations and last night was no different! Staff is always attentive, friendly, and efficient while still creating a cool and relaxing atmosphere. Food is always insane and there’s basically no bad dishes on the menu, although the Moroccan Fish Tagine, and Greek salad with chicken are my favorites. Special shoutout to Eric for the great service and for recommending the labne cheesecake.

We went in a group of 7, two of us arrived early and our table was not ready so they invited us to stand by the bar. We had their two mocktails and liked both a lot, as well as their mint lemonade, however, the drinks are essentially 70% ice.

We shared their dips and they were all fantastic (best hummus I can remember having)!

I tried several entrees from my friends and all were good quality but none stood out.

I liked a lot their cheesecake, it has light and tangy.

Service was generally pretty good and the place is very cozy, specially the back.

I had an outstanding experience at this Mediterranean-inspired restaurant. We ordered several mezze to share, and honestly, they were probably the best I’ve ever had. Everything was incredibly fresh, flavorful, and perfectly executed. The bread alone was amazing.

The service was impressively fast — we were served in under ten minutes — without ever feeling rushed. We started with wine, then had coffee, and I finished with a cocktail, which was excellent as well. Every part of the experience flowed seamlessly.

We sat at the bar, which added to the experience. The staff was extremely kind and attentive, the atmosphere felt cozy yet refined — luxurious without being over the top. You can really feel the quality and care in every detail. Even the restrooms were spotless.

An impeccable experience from start to finish. I will definitely come back and highly recommend this place without hesitation.

Private members club, so no photos—but honestly, it doesn’t need them. Everything was exceptional. The interior is stunning and thoughtfully designed, the service was attentive and seamless, and the food was outstanding. Excellent wine selection with something for every palate, and the dessert was truly next level.
Bonus: there’s an on-site store where you can purchase sporty merch with the Kith Ivy logo—super cute and a fun touch that completes the experience. ✨🍷🍰🛍️

Incredible food and unreliable service

The host and first server were rude to our friend who arrived before us. We had a couple other servers stop by to fill water, take orders, or ask about dessert. Service felt both rushed and inattentive

That being said, food was amazing. Highly recommend the lamb shank tagine

Overall I love the vibe here. They even have a patio space. I was in the neighborhood and decided to stop by for some food.

Pita Sandwich, highly recommended. Amazing flavor generous portion and it comes with a fresh salad. Honestly I think it tastes even better than the hummus.

Salmon Benedict, would not recommend. The flavors felt a bit off and I actually found small bones in the fish which made it hard to enjoy especially with the potatoes. It could definitely be executed in a more flavorful and refined way.
