Been coming here a long time. Great food and service Oclais is the best server. She was so nice and welcoming — fast and attentive the whole time. Made the meal enjoyable. Highly recommend.

The service was exceptional, and the waiter provided excellent attention to our table, ensuring everyone's satisfaction. While the food was enjoyable, I have experienced superior culinary offerings. The atmosphere is vibrant and energetic, reminiscent of the Bronx.

I had a bad experience with this restaurant. My friend and I came to this restaurant to celebrate her birthday. She saw an amazing dish promoted from their IG page. When the bill arrived the plate was the most expensive dish. We ask the waitress where is the dish price on the menu? Guess what? is not on the menu. What a scam. lure customers base on their IG photo. If its not on the menu they can change their prices whenever they feel like it. Bad way to bring in customers in their restaurant. All I ask is any photos promoted in their IG please put it on the menu. Waitress was rude all night

Busy but lively, more timely service with menus and order taking would be preferred, but we didn't have to wait long for a 9 person party so that's was a plus.

I’ve been a customer here before, but my recent experience was disappointing. Prices have clearly gone up, which I understand, but the portion sizes don’t seem to match what they used to be.<br><br>I also ordered a 2-liter soda and was told they only offer a “medium size” now, which wasn’t communicated clearly beforehand. For the price being charged, I expected to receive what was advertised or at least something equivalent.<br><br>I’m not against businesses adjusting prices, but consistency and transparency matter. If portions or items have changed, it should be clearly reflected so customers know what they’re paying for.<br><br>Hoping this is something that can be improved moving forward.

I rarely leave reviews, but this experience with Jorge was frustrating enough to warrant one. From the moment we were seated, service was extremely slow. It took far too long for our waiter to even bring menus, and no one came by to offer water in a reasonable amount of time.<br><br>When I politely asked when someone would be coming over, the response felt dismissive, and the service noticeably declined from there. The waiter appeared irritated, began placing items on the table abruptly, and the overall tone became uncomfortable.<br><br>To make matters worse, our drinks were brought out incorrectly, and when we tried to clarify the mistake, the reaction again felt defensive rather than helpful. At that point, we chose not to press the issue further and simply tried to finish the visit without additional interaction.<br><br>It’s unfortunate, because the alcoholic drinks themselves were excellent and clearly made with care. The quality of the bar service deserved recognition—and a great tip—but poor front-of-house service like this ultimately undermines the entire team.<br><br>I understand that everyone can have an off day, but basic attentiveness, professionalism, and courtesy are essential in a service role. Unfortunately, this was one of the most disappointing service experiences I’ve had in quite some time.

Clean restaurant offering traditional Spanish dishes. Service was slow. Not many vegetarian options. Had the chicken plantano Maduro order without beef gravy which was the only gravy option. They substituted garlic instead. It was very tasty but dry. I ordered flan for dessert. Plated lovely but a smaller than expected portion & extremely super sweet. No refills on water provided.

This was my first time trying authentic Dominican food aside from the typical rice and chicken. And I loved it! The salami, the cheese and the mofongo ♥️<br><br>The drinks were also pretty good. Our waiter was kind and checking to make sure we had everything. Will be returning soon 😋

Lately the food has NOT been tasty. I ordered a simple meal of yellow rice beans chicken chunks. The rice taste horrible as if sitting all day and scraped the crunch part which is disgusting and the potato salad is stale/old. For $50 at least provide food that is edible od decent enough to eat. Highly disappointed hence why I no longer purchase food from them.

I loved the atmosphere of this place—it was very welcoming and cozy. I had breakfast. The food was okay, nothing particularly noteworthy.<br>It came out to about $20 per person. The server was very kind and patient, which I really appreciated. Tip was already included in the bill.

The food was great. I asked for multiple trays of bread which was super delicious. The service was slow maybe because we ate on Christmas night with a big party. When the food arrived it was super hot and fresh. The desserts were yummy and sweet. I recommend the lava cake and tres leches. The interior was very beautiful with nice intimate lighting and lively Spanish music in the background.

Great food, great price, truly amazing. Try their paella and arroz con calamari. Enjoy

Pay for full pork chops get pork chops missing a 3rd.<br><br>I don't know if someone figured this was a great idea for extra revenue. But it just left me with a feeling of being taken advantage of, to say it nicely.<br><br>Question why would anyone think this is ok to do?<br><br>This tells me that the manager is just constantly thinking of way to take advantage of its patrons.<br><br>I had stop coming to the Colonial because the staff was constantly getting the order wrong and them try to pass it as my fault.<br><br>Decide to come back a few months back. Because the food is decent. Compared to was out there. But this is the 4 issue I had since I started buying food here again.<br><br>Feeling like some just robbed me. Very calm, good vibes with Spanish music. Made me feel at home with my mom. Food was great. One of the best mangu I had in a long time. Waiter was quick and attentive, he was also the only one on the floor.

June 8, 2022, 11months ago I was there. Today I was there and the food was great and the service by Erica was great. What I found out very disturbing was that the 18% tip was included in the bill. The first bill given was the total for the food. I left cash tip of $23.00 for server who did an excellent job. I just called a few minutes when I got home and was told can't reverse tip but can give me the cash back. As a business owner it doesn't make sense. I will not be going back to restaurant. When they give you receipt they give you total but don't give you receipt back of what you spent unless you ask for it. I assumed when I requested receipt it would be ok but when I got in my car I noticed the 18% added. That means it is 36% tip. That is why I am given a 1 because of how sneaky they were. All customers much check price before leaving a tip and request original receipt.<br><br>The food was good and the service as well. A little pricey for the food but can't complain when our server made sure we were enjoying our meal.
