Huge shoutout to HAYDEN! Amazing service he was attentive, friendly, and made the whole experience even better from the moment we walked in. Easily the best diner experience we had in NYC. The food was incredible, the atmosphere had that perfect classic Brooklyn diner vibe, and everything was just spot on. Definitely a place we’ll be coming back to every time we’re in New York.

Response from the owner

Hi, Angel. We appreciate the kind words and are glad we could provide you with a positive experience!

Service was professional and speedy. Food was quite poor especially for the price. My mom hated her omelette but I found the fish and chips (pictured) to be fine. I wish they gave more malt vinegar.

Response from the owner

Thank you for your feedback. We’re glad to hear you received professional and speedy service, though we’re sorry the food did not meet expectations overall. We appreciate your comments and will share them with our team.

Stephanie Holmes
Director of Guest Experience
The Fireman Hospitality Group
Very popular diner but surprisingly the wait isn't long. Went on a Saturday at noon and waited only 10 mins. Had the burger and fries which was very good and buttermilk pancakes. The pancakes were very fluffy and had a unique taste.

Response from the owner

Hi, Ellen. Thank you so much for leaving us a stellar review!

This themed Brooklyn diner is a great spot for lunch or dinner. I had the smash burger, and it was honestly incredible. The patties were properly smashed, cooked to perfection with melted cheese. The grilled onion and sauce were not overdone, and the brioche bun was nicely toasted.

The staff were also very friendly and gave me enough time to read the menu before taking my order. They had good input and menu suggestions. I was also impressed by how fast the food came. The restaurant was positively packed, and it took little more than 5 minutes for me and my family's orders to be made.

I strongly recommend getting a meal here.

Visited as a NYC local. Nice dark + cozy atmosphere. All day breakfast! We got the omelette and waffles + eggs with a side of home fries. We tried the pressed juices
as well. Our server Hayden was quick to catch my coffee being low and even gave us a milkshake on the house due to the wait! For once our luck worked against us as we were already so full from the food. Good customer service overall

Response from the owner

Hi, Lena. We appreciate the kind words and are glad we could provide you with a positive experience!

Hayden was fantastic, attentive and extremely helpful. The coffee kept flowing and the food and service were unbeatable! Travelled from the uk and this place was top of my list and went above all expectations. Also, best coffee in town!

Response from the owner

Hi, Connor. We appreciate the kind words and are glad we could provide you with a positive experience!

Our server, Hayden, was extremely helpful and attentive, and went above and beyond. After notifying Hayden of my shellfish allergy, he went to check with the kitchen and manager, and came back to reassure me that their fries were not fried in the same oil as their shellfish. The manager even came by and let me know that I had nothing to worry about. The food itself was amazing. We got the steak and fries with the salad. I would definitely recommend this place, and can’t wait to go again! I will say, however, that the place can get crowded and cramped very quickly.

Response from the owner

Hi, Zebr. We are thrilled to learn that you had a positive experience with us!

We wanted to eat at a diner in NYC and we found Brooklyn Diner in Manhattan on 57th street. This diner looks like most diners in NY/NJ, it was a little small and crowded. The seating is a little tight and there was a wait but we did enjoy ourselves. We ordered their specialty, the Golden Puff pastry which was pretty big and tasty. We also had a ruben sandwich which was also good. The
cheeseburger was not bad and the boneless buffalo wings were just ok. The service was good and friendly. The prices were high but it’s Manhattan so not unexpected. If you like diners or want to try one in NY this is a good option.

Response from the owner

Hi, Jeffrey. Your feedback is highly appreciated. Thank you for the review!

Love this place and I keep going back! It's busy during peak lunch times but 2pm onwards, the crowd thins out.
Excellent service every time, great food every time.
For my vegetarian friends, note that bloody Mary comes with a bacon.
I've tried their chicken pot pie (a must), cheese burger, French toast, and Korean style chicken sandwich so far (yes, I love it here), and they were all delicious.
Strongly recommend if you want the diner vibes in the city.

Response from the owner

Hi, Lisa. We appreciate the kind words and are glad we could provide you with a positive experience!

This was our first stop to eat once we landed in NYC. I must start by saying Xavier was our waiter and he was PHENOMENAL, very attentive, our drinks were always full and made sure we had everything we needed. If more waiters and waitresses were like him the world would be a better place. I asked what he recommended and he knew everything on the menu. I went with the 15 bite hotdog. Hotdog is my first go to everytime I come to NYC. The food came out fast, hot and perfectly cooked. The restaurant was super busy but, all the staff was rocking and rolling, getting things done and making sure everyone was taken care of. I highly recommend eating here if your ever in Manhattan. This is a must go to spot. Thank you Xavier for being an amazing person.

Response from the owner

Hi, James. Thank you so much for leaving us a stellar review!

We were so caught up enjoying New York that we forgot to put in a reso for our Thanksgiving dinner. We went in, they accomodated us, warm welcome, friendly smiles. We found Brooklyn Diner to be quite the special place. Our waiter, Josh and the rest of the staff made sure our orders came in time. Must try - the Pastrami on Rye, Old Fashioned, the Strawberry Cheesecake. We had a great and memorable time!

Response from the owner

Hi, C. Thanks for taking the time to share your positive experience. We truly appreciate it!

Waitress had a homeless aroma and her attitude was lacking. The breakfast food was cold but not the lunch entree. There was not enough rice, in the Rice Bowl. The food was expensive but to be expected management nice, however.

Response from the owner

Thank you for your feedback. I’m sorry the service and breakfast did not meet your expectations, though I’m glad you found some positives. We appreciate you sharing your experience.

Stephanie Holmes
Director of Guest Services
The Fireman Hospitality Group

On November 29th, my family, and I went to Brooklyn Diner. We went to celebrate my younger sister’s 20th birthday. Our waiter was Josh (Joshua). He was very attentive and nice to us. I got a Backyard BBQ Burger with fries, coleslaw, and apple pie. Sprite and water were on the side. I loved my food and so did my family.

The bathrooms were both clean. My only complaint was on the space. It gets a bit tight there, especially around 6 PM - 8 PM. Also, if you’re near the kitchen. Expect to get hit by waiters passing by. Either way, we plan to go back to eat there.

P.S. - Thank you for singing happy birthday to my little sister. We truly appreciated it.

The atmosphere is great, at least for a first timers it tells u a lot about American classical dinners. The pastrami sandwich is good, also my wife had the chicken soup which told it was excellent. Service level excellent. Pricing food, but overall a great experience
