Boqueria UES is a great spot if you’re looking for delicious food in a more upscale setting. The atmosphere was on the quieter side when I went for lunch, which made it feel relaxed and comfortable. I enjoyed the tapas-style menu because it gives you the chance to try a variety of dishes instead of just ordering one main meal, though if you’re a bigger eater, you may want to order a few extra plates.

The food was delicious, flavorful, and well-prepared. The presentation was also very nice, and everything felt thoughtfully put together. Since the portions are meant for sharing, it’s a fun place to order a few different dishes and enjoy them together. Overall, Boqueria UES is a solid choice.

While the paella could have had a bit more carmalization on the bottom, we really enjoyed the short rib paella, pulpo a la plancha, and the croquettes de jamón. Highly reccomend!

If you really want to enjoy original Tapas and you don’t have the time to go to Barcelona or some of the many other wonderful destinations in Spain then get over to Boqueria at 1460 2nd Ave in NYC. By the time you leave you’ll have felt like you enjoyed a meal with the locals in Espana.

We first went 3 weeks ago and we were both impressed but I was curious enough to want to go back again to see if it was the real deal and by writing this review you can judge for yourself. I just want to acknowledge Jose the host who did a great job by getting us set up with a table within minutes of our appointed time and to the excellent wait staff too.

As in NYC you have all kinds of restaurant, eating establishments etc. as they do in Spain, however Spain seems to have a wealth of Tapas restaurants and eateries where there are small Share plates with one or 2 bites on some and a few more on others. On our first visit we sampled many of the offerings but last night we shared 10 though we ordered 2 duplicates along with a very refreshing pitcher of sangria.

We enjoyed the Serrano ham, the renown Manchego cheese, the anchovies, the fried calamari, the tuna, the gambas, (shrimp,) 2 plates of the pulpo, (octopus,) 2 Bikini serano sandwiches, and the special chocolate cheese cake from Basque. I’ll add photos with the labels for each serving. Like I said before if you’ve ever wanted to go to Spain for authentic Spanish food but haven’t had the opportunity here’s your chance to do it in NYC!

Thank you all for a great meal!

Elegant, rustic Spanish-style tapas with strong execution and bold flavors.

The charcuterie board was well-balanced — quality cured meats (salami, chorizo, jamón) paired with pickled peppers and toasted bread for texture contrast. The shrimp in garlic sauce was rich and comforting, perfect for dipping bread. The seafood rice delivered depth, with mussels, clams, scallops, and shrimp layered over a savory base and bright herb drizzle. The steak over purée was tender and flavorful, elevated by chimichurri and citrus. Even the roasted Brussels sprouts stood out — caramelized, slightly crispy, with a salty.

We live and work on the west side so coming to this place is not that easy. But we love visiting here. Food is always good and staffs are always friendly. Our server Eric was lovely. He spent time to make sure our dietary restrictions were met. Overall 5 stars.

It's been awhile since we've been to this branch of the Boqueria chain {possibly before the pandemic) and food-wise it seems better than I remember it being.

We had the brunch feast which consisted of picking a total of 6 dishes for $29/person. Which, given the portion sizes of some of the dishes, is actually more than reasonable.

I don't recall it being offered before but I'd definitely recommend it if you're here for brunch as it's a nice selection of tapas.

Everything we had was excellent, the only minor quibble is that we asked for churros with hot chocolate, but they gave us Nutella instead. Hardly a problem though!

Our server was nice and when we first entered the front desk lady overheard my wish to be seated at the front, which was great as it allowed us to be seated in a quiet corner away from the other patrons, allowing for a quiet experience. Always a plus!

The food certainly reminded us of our most recent visit to Spain. 😋

This is my second time coming to this location. The FIRST time I went here last year, they "placed my order" through their iPad and we waited over an hour for our paella and tapas, neither of which came but we thought it was because the paella takes 45 minutes to make! turns out, our order never went through. Our server apologized and offered to bring out what we ordered free of charge, but we didn't have any time so we stayed a bit and got our tapas and drinks on the house. We let it go and still wanted to give them a chance in the future.

On Friday my partner and I came by again, and the tables were still too small for all of our dishes, made it feel a little cramped. Service was good, our waiter was kind and diligent, and checked in on us at the right times. However, the food was very disappointing, we got the $65/pp Boqueria experience, and the seafood paella was too moist and didn't have as much seasoning as I hoped it would. 2/6 of the tapas they gave us were enjoyable, but generally the food experience was very mid and felt whitewashed. Not to mention the "dessert" which was two tiny churros (one churro per person) and really watery chocolate dip. What is that? Why would you serve that? Overpriced food and experience that wasn't great. Won't come back here again.

Response from the owner

Hello Rullyann,

We are truly sorry to hear about your experiences at our restaurant. It is unacceptable that your order did not go through during your first visit, and we regret that your second experience did not meet your expectations. The issues with the food quality and the dessert presentation are concerning, and we appreciate you bringing them to our attention. Your feedback is invaluable as we strive to improve. Please reach out to us so we can discuss your concerns and make it right for you. You can contact us at uesmanagers@boqueriarestaurant.com.

Peter Yuen, General Manager

This place had an amazing deal for brunch! Got three person’s worth of food with $36 and it was more than enough variety.

Good:
- Every single dish was so tasty! Liked the sliders, the croquettes, and the churros a lot and French toast
- really good variety and price value
- Solid ambiance, very good for catching up in a semi private booth

Bad:
- A little slow on service

Overall would come again!

Response from the owner
