Visited this place recently and had a pretty disappointing experience. The bill included a “10% tax,” which felt questionable given that it’s a cash-only establishment.
What really stood out, though, was the service — or lack of it. There was essentially no interaction beyond someone dropping off the food. Despite that, an older staff member (possibly the owner) came over and directly asked us to leave a tip.
While we were deciding what to leave, he reached over and took a $5 note from the table himself without asking. That was honestly shocking and completely inappropriate. Glad he didn't take all of our cash notes.
Food-wise, it was average at best. We were polite throughout, but the responses we got were generally curt and unfriendly.
As visitors from Australia, this was quite a negative experience and not at all what we expected. Unfortunately, I wouldn’t recommend this place.

Chinatown classic—Bo Ky delivers authentic Teochew/Vietnamese eats at great value! Food was tasty: country-style duck tender and savory with pickled veggies, fish cake/beef ball noodle soup chewy and brothy, curry beef stew rich over flat noodles. Portions huge and bold.
Service was friendly and fast (efficient even when busy). Atmosphere is casual and lively (simple spot, open kitchen buzz, classic Chinatown feel), though seating's tight and basic.
Been coming to this place for years when I want something simple and affordable. It is a place where you eat and go, not really a place to dine and hang. Tight place but enough rooms between tables in certain sections. Need to improve their cleanliness standard. I think it is a cash only place- i've been paying cash every time I come here.
This has been around for 35 years or more we love the noodle soup with seafood and steak over lemongrass, it has the best Cambodian Rice noodle and soup is really consistent
Good Chinese food in this area , I ordered country style mixed pork tripe , Thier were so good and reasonable price.
Staff were friendly and helpful.
Good choice and recommended.
Amazing food, friendly service, and a welcoming atmosphere. Everything tasted fresh, clean, and full of flavor—from the comforting noodle soups to the perfectly cooked dishes. The portions were generous, the flavors were spot on, and the staff made the experience even better with their warm and attentive service.

A great spot for comforting, delicious food done right. Definitely a place worth coming back to.
Local place serving cheap local eats. Always ate here as teenagers and in our 20s. Now in our 50s, very little changed. We came early at 10:30. No line. Ordered the seafood flat noodle soup and the fish ball egg noodle soup. Just like what we remembered but smaller portions !
This is the place to get MEE POK/fishball noodles/ba chor mee(BCM)

Pick whatever combination you want. I like number 2) and number 7/8? (The fish dumpling). Get the dry version/干捞 and flat noodles/thick noodles/粗面

If you’re craving singapore food. This is the dish!!!!!!

Taste really good to go. Just pop it in the microwave.
My go to place for comfort food in NYC. Their mushroom and duck noodle soup is what I get every time, and is a must try.

The noodles (Lai fun) are perfectly soft and chewy but the soup broth is addictive. Duck is flavor and tender.
Tried and true timeless classic in Chinatown, known for their old country style duck noodle soup. Just don’t expect great service and the interior looks like it’s stuck in the 90s which gives a real nostalgic feeling. Been coming here for years and the soup broth still tastes the same, albeit the portion size decreased and price increased. Make sure to add the special homemade hot sauce and spicy and sour sauce to add extra flavor to your dish! Cash only and make sure you tip enough or they will hound you!
Authentic Chinese food in China town NY!! The noodle bowl was awesome! I could have eaten the wontons all day! I'm not really a duck fan, so I can't really say how good it was. The steak and rice was delicious!
This store is not as good as I expected. The portion is just right for a girl but too less for a guy. We ordered beef brisket and it was a little too hard to chew. The fish balls are too “soft”. I guess this is Chaozhou style maybe? Their fried fish cake is pretty good though among everything we ordered. The texture of the noodles is what I expected to be, not too soft or too hard. It’s just right.
Tried this old-school Teochew spot in Chinatown — Bo Ky.
The fish cakes were the highlight: crispy and springy.
Seafood and satay beef ho fun were solid.
No-frills, but worth a try.
The food at Bo Ky is absolutely delicious — everything was full of flavor and tasted authentic. I especially loved how comforting and satisfying the dishes were. While the service could be a bit more attentive, the amazing food more than made up for it. I’ll definitely be coming back!
We went here more than 4 times and it has become our go-to place when visiting Chinatown. We didn’t receive intend to write a review for this restaurant but it seems like a group of people were trying to vote down this restaurant, so we decided to do this restaurant some justice.

We love the food here, Vietnamese Chinese Style. We have tried many of their noodle soup dishes. Their noodle soup dishes were very tasty and flavorful. They give a variety of noodles options, which is a great thing as different people have different preferences.

What I particularly enjoy the most at this restaurant is their country-style Chicken, Duck, and Mixed Beef Tribe. They were authentic and remind me of home. They also put a generous amount of pickled radishes and carrotss in the dishes, which enhanced the taste of the meat.

The staff may not be as friendly as you may expect of American Restaurants. But, to be frank, most of the authentic Chinese restaurants in Chinatown would focus on the quality.
