The food was pretty good!

My table ordered the biscuits, cornbread, crab cakes, short ribs, and lamb chops. Our reservation was at 6:45 but we waited for another member of our party to arrive at 7:20 to order food (we had drinks while we waited). We ordered around 7:30 and did not receive our entree’s after asking many times until 9pm. My Aunt even went to the kitchen area herself to ask what is taking so long.

Now, it was game 2 of the NBA Finals but sheesh. The bill was the fastest thing that came to our table all night!

Timeliness is not their strong suit but the server/staff was nice.

Response from the owner

Lauren,

We’re grateful you enjoyed your meal and felt welcomed by our staff, though we’re sorry the long wait for your entrees took away from your experience. Your feedback is important to us, and we’re always working to improve our service so guests feel valued from start to finish.

With appreciation, The BLVD Bistro Team

Great food, good service, okay atmosphere. Only good things to say about the food and drinks and our waiter was on point. The positives stop there. If you like small, tight, over crowded, loud, and long wait times even with a reservation, then this is the place for you.

Title: Tasty food, but the extra fees feel like a rip‑off

Rating: ⭐ (1/5)

Review:
The food itself was okay – we ordered lamb chops, and while they were very fatty, the taste was still good. I personally wasn’t hungry that night (hungover from a few days before), so I only had cranberry juice, orange juice, and a Pellegrino. All the drinks were very good.

But here’s the real problem – and it’s a big one. When the bill came, I saw two charges that made no sense for a solo diner:

· 20% automatic gratuity – for just me, eating.
· 2.50% “restaurant fee” – when I asked what it was for, the staff said it was for “to‑go bags and takeaway.” I was dining in. He also said not there to take the fee off, which sounds crazy to me.

I find that completely disrespectful. A fee for takeout containers on a dine‑in meal? And an automatic 20% tip for one person eating ? That should be my choice, not forced on me. Take a look at my bill. It’s not gonna make any sense to you either.

The food might be tasty, but these hidden fees ruin the experience. If you go, check your bill carefully this seems like deceptive practices – and be prepared to pay extra for things that don’t make sense.

Wow!!!! This spot is so fire!!!! The vibe is phenomenal on a Saturday afternoon!!! DJ rocking the turntables & the Bartender
Bo is the man!!! Great service & hospitality from the crew here! Everyone is so friendly and welcoming. One of my new favorite spots in Harlem!! I will be back! The food menu looks excellent. The suggestions from two southern Queens sitting next to me at the bar looks delicious. I was told to try the southern dinner or the chicken and.

I came on a Sunday for brunch for the first time and I had a great time! My friends and I weren’t a fan of the food and the cocktails we chose. Their steak, eggs and home fries entree wasn’t good at all. My eggs had way too much parsley, the steak seemed wet and not seasoned good and was on top of the hash browns which made the potatoes really soggy and they also tasted very salty. Thankfully it was cooked correctly, unlike my friends plate she ordered medium rare and it came out brown! It was comped and she had the shrimp and grits which tasted way better! We had a great time for the sing along part which started more in the night. We had a mimosa at first and it was perfectly made! My second drink was very strong but it’s okay I didn’t feel like complaining about it. The dj & hype woman I was great and kept the customers happy and singing! If I was to come back I would def. come back for pancakes and bacon lol and of course to sing my heart out!

The food was excellent . Ordered the shrimp and grits. Cheddar grits with bacon and butter and a biscuit. I will definitely be back. I also ordered the sisterita drink. That was very very tasty except the bar tender spilled some of the drink on the bar top. Very nice decor though. I will definitely be back to try other menu items

The food was impeccable and the service was just perfect. Our server Jamie was very attentive and took everyone’s order and so delightfully cheerful and fun but did his job very professionally . The atmosphere was quiet since it was a Monday evening but we were there a party of 10 celebrating our friend Birthday . I told Our server we will be back again very soon.

The food was exceptionally good! Great flavors and seasoning! I enjoyed my meal and the kind service. Great place to go with friends. Enjoyed the restaurant week menu, which had some nice options. Definitely one to check out.

I wanted to enjoy this place, but unfortunately I found hair in my shrimp and grits twice—once while dining in and again in the remade to-go order. Given the price point, this was very disappointing. I hope the kitchen reviews its hygiene protocols.

The atmosphere itself was decent, and a few staff members were polite and attentive. However, repeated hygiene issues and inconsistent service overshadowed the experience.

Came to BLVD Bristro in Harlem for my birthday from Southern New Jersey. I seen an Instagram post on this restaurant and it definitely lived up to the hype. Ordered a peach Mimosa pitcher and that was delicious. The flavors hit perfectly. For our meals, we ordered the shrimp and grits, the catfish and eggs with cheese grits and a biscuit. I ordered a side of chicken sausage gravy to go with the biscuit and a single pancake. I am VERY particular about my grits and usually do not order them at any restaurant BUT the grits here were good and cooked very well. Everything flowed together perfectly. AND the chicken sausage gravy was soooo flavorful. You must get it if you go.
The vibes were there. Great ambiance and great energy. Our reservation was for 11:30am on a Sunday. Walked in to gospel music playing. Which I loved! I believe at 1pm the DJ came on and started with some house music. It wasn't too loud but great vibes.
The staff was AMAZING. Everyone super friendly. It showed that they worked together as a team because they all made sure we enjoyed ourselves.
I wish I lived closer to BLVD Bistro, I would be a regular. Enjoy!

Response from the owner

Melissa,

Hearing that your birthday was filled with great food and a lively atmosphere makes us truly happy.

Cheers from all of us at BLVD Bistro

Great food and atmosphere. The shrimp and grits were well prepared. The salmon was crispy and very flavorful on the inside. As for the atmosphere……DJ had us vibing with some R&B classics. The food arrived quickly and the waitress was very kind. Definitely would recommend this restaurant for anyone who wants a taste of the real Harlem.

Literally the best food I’ve ever gotten, food is amazing the vibe? Ambiance to die for!! Come here if you want a good time. Blvd Bistro deserves ALL the stars! The food was flavorful, the staff was friendly, and the owner went above and beyond for us and blessed us with free food. You can feel the love in the service and the dishes. If you haven’t been yet, you’re missing out on one of Harlem’s gems. 💛

I came here for all-day brunch on a Sunday afternoon. Highly recommend reservations because it gets very busy. Service was good. I really enjoyed the cocktails and the food! The food was delicious and the drinks were strong. The music is pretty loud which is my only complaint but that is to be expected. Overall, I had a good experience

Went on a Sunday for brunch and it was a vibe from start to finish. The atmosphere was dope, the energy was great, and the drink selection was elite. Every dish we had was on point. It was cooked perfectly, seasoned just right and full of flavor. Definitely one of those spots you want to lock in a reservation. Highly recommend.

If you visit BLVD Bistro, know that you’re going for the vibes and nothing else. The food is okay but the prices are ridiculous. (Pro Tip: buy the grits, eggs and catfish individually instead of the breakfast as advertised on the menu)
We had a reservation for a set time and over 1.5 hours later… we were seated. I know what you’re thinking “why didn’t you leave?”… We sat outside, the breeze was blowing, the people going in and out became our entertainment. Plus we really wanted to give Sunday Brunch a try.
Okay, we made it in… the DJ and host announced there would be a sing-a-long! Dope! Maybe this thing can be turned around. Water was poured, we declined since there were floaters in the water.
I purchased bottled waters instead. Our table host came to take our order, nice enough guy but really not built for the position, yet. The food took damn near an hour to come out, the appetizers were served with the meals, one order was wrong and the other was missing. At that point no amount of singing could save this experience. We asked for to-go containers without really touching our food.
Over all - the entertainment is cool but the service is slumped.
BTW- it’s not a big space.
