The food was excellent, and the ingredients were very fresh. The service was attentive and friendly. One suggestion would be to serve the bottled beer in colder glasses so guests can enjoy it at a cooler temperature. The dining area was also a bit noisy, possibly due to the open layout without partitions. Overall, it was a very enjoyable dining experience.

Thanks so much. We appreciate the review and the feedback. I will share with the team. All the best.
This place was a favorite of mine after going twice and having outstanding experiences. But after returning more recently, they were not consistently as good as the last times I had gone. Don't get me wrong, it was still delicious and we still gladly ate it. But the quality we got about 10 months ago here felt more worth the money than recently. We ended up going to get more food after this because it was pricey. The crispy rice is amazing, I wished they were a little more consistent in their quality, because that would make it more worth the high price. The atmosphere is nice, and the staff were very kind.
An absolutely outstanding experience at Blue Ribbon Sushi on Sullivan Street. The food was simply exceptional — the best sushi we have ever had.

A special thank you to Toshihiide for the magnificent service. He made our evening unforgettable with his attention to detail, warmth, and professionalism.

The atmosphere was perfect for a Saturday night — lively yet comfortable — and they were incredibly kind and welcoming with our kids, which made the experience even more special for our family.

Highly recommend. I had such a great experience at this Japanese restaurant. The atmosphere was really nice, modern, clean, and relaxing, which made it a perfect place to enjoy dinner. The vibe felt cozy but still elegant.

The food was amazing, especially the fresh fish. You can really taste the quality. The sashimi was incredibly fresh, soft, and full of flavor. Every slice melted in your mouth. The sushi was also beautifully prepared and tasted just as good as it looked. Everything felt very high quality and carefully made.

The presentation of the dishes was beautiful, and you can tell they pay attention to detail. It made the whole dining experience even more enjoyable.

If you love fresh fish, sashimi, and sushi, this place is definitely worth visiting. I would absolutely come back again. Highly recommend!

Great to hear. Thanks so much. All the best and hope to see you again sometime.
Excellent restaurant!! As all blue ribbon restaurants are.. professional prepared sushi with extremely fresh fish. Top quality from a to z. We enjoyed the sushi sashimi deluxe platter, otoro tataki app, crispy rice with spicy tuna. And of coarse the blue ribbon roll!
I love this place from the sushi I had ate in. The atmosphere was beautiful. The workers were so nice. I just wish they had more cooked sushi options more than raw and that they just had more options and sushi in general.

Staff was really friendly despite us coming in not too long before closing(45min before). We called ahead of time to make sure it was ok. Good amount of options for all. A wide variety of of nigiri too. More than you’d find in most average sushi places.
Great sushi restaurant. I enjoy the pickled vegetable plate. the eggplant was a delight. the escarole had a lot of depth of flavor. The spinach in sesame was a starter I'd go back for again. It is pricey, however the sushi and sashimi are of great quality and are well crafted. The atmosphere is great. Compact and lively.

First time visit on NYE ... will definitely return. Deluxe Sashimi was very fresh and impressive. Nothing disappointed me. Green Tea Creme Brulee was the way to go to end such a lovely dinner.

Happy New Year! Thanks so much for visiting with us on New Year's Eve. We are so happy to hear you enjoyed it. All the best!
Went in solo for lunch. Was seated at the sushi bar, not in front of the glass cases but at the end looking down the prep counter. Ordered a Crispy Salmon Roll which was good. As I’m finishing my roll, the chef in front of me starts coughing directly on the prep counter. Doesn’t cover his mouth, no gloves, The chef next to him gives him “the look” also looks at me knowing what I had just seen. Luckily I notice that my roll was made by the chef at the other end of he prep area. I immediately asked to move and told the server what I had observed. They seated me in a booth but still within sight of the sushi bar. As I sat here drinking my tea, planning to order something else. But what I was witnessing was disturbing. The chef was obviously not well. Was leaning over the prep area, wiping his eyes and nose, no gloves and never washed his hand. I had enough, asked for my check. Was brought my check but immediately someone came over and told me my bill was comped. I again mentioned that it was very disturbing. In all that time I was there no one said anything to him. Usually I don’t do real negative reviews but this one I couldn’t let go.
It was good restaurant and served the good food. Ingredients were fresh. The service was good and nice. Anyway, the light should be lighter because we could see the food clearly.
I came to Blue Ribbon Sushi about two years ago and had an amazing experience — a big sushi platter that cost around $200 and felt well worth it. I recently went back for a quick date night, and while the food was still good, the prices have gotten insanely high. I know inflation is real, but this felt pretty extreme.

We ordered the crispy rice with spicy tuna, the Hamachi Serrano, two pieces of otoro sushi, the Unadon, plus one basic bottle of hot sake. The total came out to about $180 including tip, which honestly blew my mind given how little food we actually got.

The otoro sushi especially was disappointing — each piece was around $18, and the slice of fish on top was tiny. It didn’t taste bad, but for that price, I expected something more memorable. Overall, the food was decent but definitely not worth what we paid — and I left still feeling hungry.

On the positive side, the service was excellent. The staff was super attentive and managed to seat us last minute even though the place was fully booked. The restaurant itself is small, cozy, and great for a date night, but I’d just say be prepared to spend a lot more than you’d expect.

In short, the food is fine, the vibe is nice, but the prices are over the top for what you get. I wouldn’t recommend it for a casual dinner unless you’re ready to splurge.
I just left Blue Ribbon Sushi NYC completely disappointed — and still hungry. I paid $57 for food that wasn’t worth half of it. The menu is confusing, with no clear prices, and shrimp tempura wasn’t even listed. When it came, it was just four tiny pieces for $18 — bland, forgettable, and definitely not fresh.

But the worst part was the rude service. I politely asked the waiter if I could charge my phone, and he disappeared. When he finally came back, instead of being helpful, he said, “So, are you ordering more or not?”
That attitude alone ruined the experience. No warmth, no hospitality — just a feeling that I was an inconvenience for not ordering fast enough.

I only went there because Sushi Lin across the street doesn’t have a full kitchen at this location — I really wish they did. I would have had a better meal and much better service.

Overall: Overpriced sushi, unfriendly staff, terrible customer service, and poor value.
If you’re in NYC and want good sushi, skip Blue Ribbon Sushi — there are far better options nearby that actually care about their customers.
