The beef bulgogi was really good! The vegetables were very well flavored and the sauces were perfect! The lady who I ordered from was very kind and the food came quick!

Hot authentic sundubu in my native Brooklyn! Perfectly flavored. VIDEO UPDATE: Portions shrunk significantly. Former brown containers (never filled to the top, by the way) since has been replaced with even smaller white versions—and still not filled to the top. First few orders were filled to the top, and the merchant slowly keeps reducing the portions they give. “Dubu” is tofu—and we found 4 pieces in the whole item.
4 dumplings are teeny and overpriced. Kimchi is a tiny portion.

Pretty good food, the bignorm bibimbap was really well made and so was the jjajang myun. Gave a very authentic Korean taste. Service was very good, though the area is a bit small, so wouldn’t recommend if you wanted to dine in with a big group, best for 1-2 people or max three, unless the seats are taken up. They do have take out.

The lemonade was also very flavorful and bright.

Ordered from here for the first time and will definitely make it a regular thing. Big Norm Bibimbap was delicious and the Nuloongji Bibimbap was awesome!! Crispy rice! Yum. Big Norm sauce is super tasty!

Every neighborhood should have a cute neighborhood home-cooking spot like BigNorm. The cozy interior is decorated with the owner's crafts and artwork. I enjoyed a leisurely dinner and chat with the owner. Tho it's a small space and only a few high stools, if you're not in a rush it's relaxing to sit and street-watch. The owner takes a lot of care to prepare good food and the menu has fun things that you'd enjoy like when going home for the weekend. Thanks for a pleasant visit!

The food was tasty and the service was great. My order was always ready on time. The price is very reasonable for what you get. Overall, a solid choice for casual Korean food.

I've never had food that impressed me this much. The meal created a progression of increasing delight. This place surpasses what compliments can capture. The staff makes this place feel special without trying too hard. Both tourists and residents will find the quality exceptional.

I just got the kimchi stew and japchae from BigNorm and like…wow. 🔥 The broth was sooo rich and legit packed with flavor, and the japchae? Crazy good. I’m def going to run through the rest of their menu soon. Also, the two ladies working there were absolute sweethearts—so friendly. Love them! 💕

Ordered delivery hoping that this place would be good as there are many good Korean places in BK! Got the kimchi stew and black beans (jiajang) noodles. Honestly, the black bean noodles were mediocre. Was excited for the kimchi stew, but disappointed. The broth was very sweet and barely had any kimchi in it. Very disappointed, the food was expensive and not very good.

I ordered two soondobus with white rice and noodles. The containers are paperbased. The first soondobu one had the top lid collapsed. The second soondobu’s bottom lid blew out. I dont think the paper transit containers are the way to go! But otherwise the food was good and the delivery service gave a proper refund.

Welcome to the neighborhood! We finally have a real deal Korean comfort food spot in south Brooklyn. This gem jumped onto the scene not long ago. Filling a small storefront I worry they will outgrow very quickly. Some counter seating and one outdoor spot. But it is a grab-and-go joint. Simple clean interior. Simple menu with Korean comfort staples. The staff is friendly and helpful. Service is fast and the food is out of this world.

This place is amazing! I’ve been here 4 times in 2 weeks and craving their kimchi fried rice with bacon and their japchae. So good!

Response from the owner

Thank you so much for your review! When the weather gets freezing cold this weekend pop in for one of our hot soups!

Ordered from UberEats. Flavor was quite good especially the soondubu jjigae (kimchi tofu stew with egg,). The bibimbap was just alright. And this neighborhood can use a authentic Korean place for sure.

The reason I gave 3 stars is that they forgot the egg in the soondubu :( how can one forget the egg? It is one of the key ingredients...given the recent price hike for eggs. I couldn't help but wonder if this is a measure for cost cutting :/

Response from the owner

Thank you very much for ordering from our restaurant and I’m very sorry you weren’t satisfied with your meal. We’d be happy to send you a refund or we can send you something else from our menu, on us, at your convenience.

When it comes to the ingredients that are essential to our dishes, we would never leave them out to cut costs and at least half of our menu has eggs in it. With our Soondubu, unlike other restaurants, we prefer not to just plop an egg into the soup but rather we whisk the egg first then mix it in so that the egg can meld with the entire dish creating a richer fuller flavor versus having clumps of egg whites and yolk floating about. This is also especially important for delivery orders.

Again we’re very sorry you weren’t happy with your meal and we’d be happy to do what we can to make it right!

Sincerely,
BigNorm
It’s so great to have this cute Korean spot in the neighborhood! I got the Bibimbap with tofu and my husband got the ManduGuk and we loved both of them. The sauce with the bibimbap brings all the flavors of the veggies out. It is a healthy and delicious lunch. The broth for the soup was on point too! Highly recommend!

Response from the owner

Thank you so much! We're super happy you and your husband enjoyed your meal! Looking forward to serving you both again!

Decisions on Smith street…

On a gorgeous day in November, it was such a treat to stroll upon a new Korean spot in the hood. It’s super tiny and likely set for takeout, but there was a nice table outside and with the unusually high temperatures my wife and I decided to stop for lunch. and there was a small menu with some usual favorites in the Korean cuisine.

Service was quick and friendly and you’ll love the fresh vegetables and flavors served up. Whit had a Japchae (which did come with sticky rice too) and I had the Nuloongji Bibimbap. The crispy rice bottom was just right and when mixed up with spicy Gochujang sauce. We also shared a refreshing Lime Rickey to drink.

Response from the owner

Thank you for your kind review and thank you for your lovely pictures! Looking forward to your next visit!
