Went to Bengal Tiger for dinner on a weekday evening. It was well marked and easy to find. I didn’t have a reservation, but I was seated promptly. The restaurant was fairly busy. The restaurant felt roomy and had decent ambiance.

I looked over the menu and decided to go with the fixed price 3-course menu. Choose to get the soup for appetizer, malai kofta as the main and the rasmalai for dessert (it’s an extra dollar to get the rasmalai over the plate the other two choices). The meal is served with rice but I decided to get a naan so I ordered that as an extra. I also got a raita for an extra charge.

Overall, I really like the atmosphere and the service was very good and efficient. So I’ve given them 5-starts. However, I thought the food taste was very average. The soup was hot and thick but really didn’t taste particularly good. The kofta itself really didn’t have any flavor and the gravy was just ok. The raita wasn’t any better. So I gave the food just 3-stars.

What I did like is that they have a three course menu that works for a single diner. As I wrote earlier, I also really liked the service. I wish the meal came with the choice of rice or naan rather than only rice. I also wish the dishes had greater depth of flavor.

I would not recommend this restaurant for anyone looking to have a great Indian meal, I think there are several other excellent choices in the city. However, for someone looking for a quick meal this works.
Food was good. My friend and I got the prefix menu . The samosas were absolutely great but the chicken tikka masala was just meh to us. It wasn’t bad, it just wasn’t the best to my friend. Overall vibe in the restaurant was great the with really nice staff.
I had a wonderful dinner here this evening. I came on a Sunday around 6 PM and there was no weight although it was quite full. The food was absolutely delicious. Service was very nice as well. I will be coming back.
The food here is excellent and so delicious! We had the butter chicken curry, garlic shrimp, and some beer. The staff even mentioned that the famous Japanese actor and musician Masaharu Fukuyama has visited this spot. It felt like such a rare and special experience to find a place like this in NY.
This place is hands-down the best! I am sure to stop in every time I come to NYC. I highly recommend the samosas (meat and vegetarian), the chicken korma and makhani, and the kheer makes for a refreshing dessert. Entrees are served piping hot, fresh and full of flavor. Service is unparalleled — each person we encountered at our most recent visit was attentive and kind. Their new space is elegant yet warm and welcoming (like a hot cup of their chai). Bengal Tiger is a must-try!
Amazing experience from beginning to end! Seriously great service with
Ambiance (5/5): the inside was nicely decorated and the aromas were delightful. The tables felt pretty snug next to each other.
Service (5/5): Exceptional service from beginning to end. Service really blew us away. Our waitress and the staff were ready to fill our waters, change our plates, serve our dishes at a lightening pace. Before the incorrect even touched our table, we told the waitress that we had ordered the chicken, not the veggie version. She comped the dish and re-placed our intended dish for free! Wow that was unexpected and grateful for.
We ordered from the 3-course menu $28.
Food (5/5):
Samosas: super flavorful sauce with a fresh crust to each bite. Keema and vegetable were both good.
Korma and Vindaloo were both superb!! We both preferred the korma slightly more. Vindaloo was not too spicy as warned. Both dishes came with a small side of rice. Quality of meat was not great which was my only qualm.
Naan was large, fresh, and soft.
Gulab was one singular serving but the richness from the syrup was definitely enough for the palate.
The front check in area had easily 20 take out orders. This business knows how to churn them out with high quality taste.
Cute place with great food for great price. Prefix deal where we got various dishes including nan, chicken, better chicken, and sticky rice. Everything was soo good and very filling. Enjoyed some tea and had a wonderful time. Recommend
3.3 stars. With light snow falling and temperatures dropping, we were craving serious Indian food to warm us up. We arrived around 4:30 without reservations but were seated without any issues. It took about ten minutes though before we had our orders taken as the team seemed to have some coordination issues.

We all went for the Prix Fixe option ($28 pp) which included one appetizer, one entree, and one dessert. We added three naan (coconut, rosemary, cheese) for $15. Our son had a Chai ($4) too. Food was brought out after about 15 minutes. Flavors were average though.

All-in for dinner for our family was right at $165.
Amazing food. And the BEST SERVICE ever, our drinks were getting filled nonstop and not once did my water cup get empty. And such an amazing atmosphere I am in LOVE. 😻. FOR SURE TRY IT OUT. Will be coming back here snd the next time with even more people. Best Indian foor i have ever tried and trust me I have tried a lot.
The food was excellent. First time being there and was asked about spicy levels. The food was delicious and appropriately portioned for two. The garlic and cilantro nan were amazing. Cilantro was better. Lamb vindaloo is very spicy but so worth having. Asked for chili and onions on the side. The bathroom smelled amazing and was very clean. Smelled like warm vanilla. Reasonably priced. Will definitely be revisiting.
Offered a great deal which is a three course for $28 and comes with an appetizer, entree, and dessert or you can do ala carte. We of course had to add on a mango lassi and loved how flavorful and spicy the dishes actually were. Also got to try some new dishes as recommend by the waiter and highly recommend visiting if you are in the area. Our favorites were the tikka masala and lasuni shrimp
Great Indian restaurant! The service was a bit slow but the food and the prix fix tasting menu was great! The portion was a bit on the smaller side, but the flavor was incredible! I asked for spicy and it was ~spicy~! The naan bread was a bit flat and dry, but great to soak up the chicken vibdaloo. I wish there were more gulab Jamun, the singular one was a tease, but it was super tasty and sweet!
One if the best authentic Indian food in Manhattan, NYC. I am their customer since many years abd I do recommend it to friends and family when they visit NY for either work or leisure.
10/10 place. It doesn’t look promising on the outside, but once you come in and sit down, it’s a whole different experience. The atmosphere of the restaurant was very intimate, dim-lit, and romantic dare I say. The interior design was very cute- beautiful mirrors all around, white floral wallpaper, chic golden light fixtures. The tables are a little close to one another, so it can get loud pretty easily, but that didn’t seem to bother the people around us.

The service was absolutely amazing. I don’t think my water cup was ever empty. There was constantly someone looking out for empty places and water needing filling. Our Samosa Chaat appetizer came out very quickly, always nice. My first bite was something like a mouth orgasm. I didn’t know I can experience so many flavor profiles in one bite. Savory, tangy, sweet, crunchy, herby and fresh, sweet, soft, cold, warm… wow. If there’s anything you need to try, it’s that.

We were off to a good start with our appetizer, and even a better ending with our main course. My husband got lamb tikka masala, with the most tender lamb pieces and SO much flavor in each bite. I got a veggie tikka masala, which was also FULL of flavor, and filled with carrots, peas, potatoes, zucchini, onions I believe. The rice that came with the tikka masala were so flavorful and perfect taste, texture, and portion size. To accompany the tikka masala, we of course had to get naan. It was very tasty, especially when it was warm. It was less fluffy than I like, but nevertheless tasted great and served its purpose.

I honestly feel like we could’ve easily shared the two meals with a third person, especially with our appetizer. They food was so filling with great portion size.

I’m not sure if it was the owner or manager, but a kind gentleman also came up to us and brought us two mango lassi on the house. That just added to our already amazing experience.

My husband and I left the restaurant feeling so full and satisfied with the food, service, atmosphere, and price. For everything we ordered, it was only $60. Considering that we have breakfast for roughly the same price, I think it’s a great price for dinner.

If you’re thinking Indian food, definitely come here!
