We LOVED Arepas Cafe. We heard about it from the Taste Buds series on TikTok, and it did not disappoint. The vibe / atmosphere is so fun, the staff is friendly, and the food comes out hot and FRESH. An order of empanadas and one arepa was plenty of food for two. This was a wonderful little neighborhood spot and I would highly recommend!

Arepas are excellent and you know this place is authentic bc Venezuelans come here! Highly recommend!
The best Venezuelan food in town! The chicken soup was amazing, and the mini platter was absolutely delicious. The service was exceptional. I will definitely come back for more!
Consistently the most delicious arepas, cachapas and chicken soup. I’ve been coming here for almost 20 years now, from being an Astoria resident years ago to now making the trip from out East, the excitement I get when walking into this family owned business is unmatched. The sangria is always delicious and the service is always so pleasant. So happy to see this family owned business is still surviving & thriving. Do yourself a favor and come taste the authenticity and love in their dishes and sauces.
Food was ok, but some of food is just basic stuff with different names to make it sound unique but it's not😅 The mini cachapas are overpriced, should be half the price for how little you get. Some of the other prices seemed ok but mini cachapas aren't worth $10. Atmosphere was too casual, felt like I walked into someone's living room. Overall was ok but it seemed better in the pictures
Probably the best brunch I’ve had in Astoria so far. My bf and I LOVE food, and this is GOOD FOOD. Omg, I’ve been dreaming about the cachapa since I had the first bite.

Service is extremely friendly, feels like a neighborhood spot. Owners are super nice and personable. Music is fun. If you’re hispanic you’ll probably love it here. 🇻🇪 Try the passion fruit mimosa on a Saturday morning with an empty stomach because my goodness, you WILL be full. 🤩 Fair prices too. We left fat and happy.

Thanks for visiting, you guy need to try our chicken soup winer, 2026 best soup on Queens
I came in cold and hungry and the waitstaff were totally attentive and got my food almost instantly. This place gets extra points for its longevity over the years. I'd recommend all the arepas and the passionfruit drink. My only thing is that the music is a bit loud for my taste, but once the stomach is full and satisfied, it matters less.
Arepas Cafe was fantastic. From the Cafe con Leche which was the best coffee I’ve had from a restaurant, to the passion fruit drink to the chicken empanadas which were so fresh. Everything is homemade so the dough was so soft and wasn’t greasy. The woman behind the counter was kind and explained everything so well. No brainer, easily 5 stars.

**🌽 Arepa Café – A Flavor Explosion in the Heart of Astoria! 🌟**

If you're not already obsessed with Venezuelan food, prepare for a serious love affair. I just had the pleasure (no, the privilege) of dining at **Arepa Café** in Astoria, and let me tell you — my tastebuds are still doing a salsa dance. 💃🌶️

First up: the **Arepa Pabellón**. Imagine slow-cooked shredded beef that's so tender it practically melts into the arepa, paired with sweet plantains that feel like nature’s candy, black beans for that earthy richness, and a hit of salty white cheese to tie it all together. Every bite was a *FLAVOR BOMB* — the kind you wish you could rewind and experience all over again. 🌋💥

Then came the Mami de Pernil, which honestly should be illegal for being this good. Juicy, seasoned roasted pork stacked high, garlic mojo dripping off every corner of the arepa, and just enough sauce to make it messy in the best possible way. One bite and I was like, “Okay, who’s the culinary genius back there??” 👏🐷✨

The place itself? Cozy, colorful, and full of warmth — like walking into a Venezuelan hug. Whether you're rolling in with family, catching up with friends, or trying to impress a hot date, Arepa Café sets the mood and delivers the goods.

**Pro tip**: Bring an appetite and maybe a napkin or three — things get juicy fast. 😋

🔥 10/10 — Worth crossing boroughs for.
💛 Flavor: off the charts
🎉 Vibes: immaculate
👨👩👧👦 Great for: everyone, always

Love this place. Already planning my return. 💥

Tight space but looks like it gets poppin here.
Been meaning to come here but wanted something small and healthy. We walked in stating we wanted an order to go. We went with the salad.
We were instructed to sit and wait inside.
Very affordable and avocados included!
Straight forward salad. Fresh ingredients and tasty.
If an affordable salad is craved, this is where I would come especially since it's close by.
This place definitely has a vibe. We came in for takeout. Looking for something light to eat. Went with the house salads ( la casa). Grilled chicken and steak on the side. The salads are robust. Nice amount of avocado. Wasn’t expecting that. The grilled chicken is seasoned nicely. The steak, well done. Sliced. Juicey. Very flavorful. Good job. The salads were 10 dollars with 6 extra for the chicken or steak. A great deal for the portion size.
We waited inside the restaurant and I couldn’t help but notice the yummy frozen drink selection. The place was busy for a Friday night. Service was friendly.
We have to come back now.

The arepas here hit the spot. We had the shredded chicken, shredded beef, and pernil pabellón. Tres leches was also very nice, would recommend it.

The staff were all very friendly and welcoming. I’ll be back to try the happy hour sangria pitcher with some friends for sure.
Went on a Saturday afternoon. Got a table for 5 in 20 mins.
The fried arepas bites were good. Got the shrimp arepa. Shrimp quantity was good but taste was minimal or below average. The arepa at the end tends to get too soggy and the shrimp mix drips and spills. Same with other chicken arepas.
Tiramisu was decent.
Been coming here for the past ten years and I have no notes except everything is amazing. Arepa pabellon is very delicious, as well as the plantain sandwich. Can’t go wrong with anything on the menu! Even the fish/seafood arepas and the reina/cold chicken salad arepas were really great 🫶 Hope places like this lasts for a lifetime!
A great trip to Peru while I was in Queens! All the appetizers were incredible! My arepa was awesome. Super delicious, healthy and filling. Cool feel and outside seating
