Walking there is always a line because the food is amazing. I got lucky before getting on the train the line wasn't long at all. The service was amazing with the two ladies. I usually get my roti on the side because I'm taking a long journey. I decided to get the curry chicken, and I enjoyed it because it had the right amount of spice. They also have sides that you can ask about and be sure to get; they are amazing. You can get it directly from the plate. The restaurant was very clean and so were the restrooms. The ladies were nice to the kids as well they made a mess at the register and we helped her clean it up. She offered the restroom so I could wash my hands as well, which was nice of her. They also offer other varieties of food such as halal and they have Mac and cheese as well. They also have an atm inside. It's very spacious if your dinning with your family. Prices are reasonable. They have a small area with baked and dry goods as snacks at their register.

My friend suggested this restaurant to me as I had wanted a roti and wasn’t sure where to get from, and ordered me a boneless chicken roti with a Peardrax. When it arrived, the peardrax was only filled a quarter of the way, as if someone had drank from it. I immediately opened the bottom to examine it, and heard no carbonation, as well as the drink itself being flat/stale. I contacted the delivery driver, who said they'd received it that way so I proceeded to contact the store 3 times, to which the phone didn't even ring. Whether it had been old and sitting for a long period of time or someone had drank from it, whoever picked it up to place it in the bag surely felt how light it was and still decided to package it.
When I opened the packaging of the roti, and pulled it apart, I'd discovered that there were only 4 pieces of chicken and the majority were potato chunks/chana. If I wanted a vegetable roti, that's what I would've ordered. Still, I attempted to make the best of it and eat what I could, but the roti just lacked flavor and had this strange aftertaste. So ultimately, I threw it away and it was a waste of money. Between the half flat Peardrax, the tasteless roti, and no one at the store's location answering the phone, I was utterly disappointed and wouldn't be ordering again.
As a Trini I’m ashamed of this location (I’m rating this location only) I asked for everything on my doubles and it barely had any flavor, was bland and boring. The polouri was disgusting, to dense that the little container of tamarind sauce finished so fast cause I didn’t want to choke eating it. Also because it was so dense and lacked flavor I could tell it wasn’t made with split pea flour. Yuck, lots of short cut. Avoid as it doesn’t serve true trini flavors
The staff is RUDE, RUDE, RUDE!

As soon as I entered the premises I was greeting with an attitude and hasty repeated requests to order my food. Though there was no line and only one other customer present. I was not familiar with Trinidad food so I needed a bit of time to decide on my purchase and when I asked questions or for details regarding the dishes my questions were met with an aggressive attitude and visible frustration as if I were asking for too much. Both ladies, the one disturbing the food and the other older Indian-looking lady managing the cash register are very rude for Absolutely No reason and very snappy.

Also they often disclose the registers are “down/not working” and it’s “cash only” to some customers while granting other customers access to pay with their cards.
The 4 stars is for the food. The doubles were pretty good. I only got one but enjoyed it. The customer service could be better. As I asked the girl a question and she did not answer when she was standing right infront of me.
Stopped by this morning to pick up some roti skins I ordered and everything was great! Wonderful customer service, amazing food, and such a pleasant experience overall. Will definitely be back! 😊
I ordered online via UBER, today, 4.17.2026, but did not receive all that was ordered, it was not the delivery person's fault but the restaurant. I ordered 3 Saheenas with channa, I received traditional saheenas, and could squeeze the oil for out and do another fry with it. I ordered 2 solo soft drinks and received none.
The doubles were good. The veggie roti had beef this was for a vegetarian hence the veggie order. The chicken roti was okay the phoulorie were good. I tried calling the restaurant but no one answered and their voicemail isn't set up. I clicked on the website but it took me to some sort of spam website. I won't be ordering from here in future and will not recommend ordering virtually. Maybe if you go in person you may have a better experience.

Lisa I'm so sorry was this today ? If so they a little short staff after 4:15 will personally do over your order
Would of loved to give an actual review but this is why you treat everyone with respect. I went in not knowing but just taking my time looking. The lady is saying what do you want? I said I’m looking and she said well if you don’t know I can’t help you. Say no more. Enjoy the review!
This was my first time going to Ali's. I got two goat roti and two chicken roti. The ladies was nice to speak with. The prices was my only problem. I think it's a little expensive. But I do understand that everything is expensive nowadays. If I'm ever in Brooklyn again, I would go back. Ohhh get the sauce on the side you may like it.

Thank you appreciate it
I came there around 2pm the line wasn’t long but it had two servers there. They were slow. I went and ordered a crab and dumplings, 6 doubles, pholourie and a chicken roti with curry mango. The curry chicken was done they said wait 5 mins I said ok. Then when I got home and I opened my roti I only had one piece of curry chicken. After making me wait. I’m also calling the number on the website and they won’t answer the phone. After spending $60 smh. They need to do better especially if I’m waiting. I’m spending my hard earned money and I only got one piece of curry chicken.

Hey sorry we got you another one next time ask for Lisa
Very disappointed with the doubles!! Very dry skins and not fluffy. Flat as crepes. Something was off with the channa. I thought it was what the customer wants but when I asked for the tamarind to be placed in the Dhal puri they lief to me and said they can not do that because my order is coming from the back. I literally watched them take the skins in the front area!! Very disappointed!
I had the absolute BEST meal from Ali’s Roti Shop! This plate came with oxtail, shrimp, rice and peas, green salad, macaroni pie, and a side of callaloo, and every single bite was a piece of Caribbean heaven. The flavors were rich, authentic, and perfectly seasoned. You can really taste the love and tradition in the food.

If you’re craving authentic Caribbean food, this is the spot. Consistently amazing and made with love. Highly recommend!
I respect the Ali’s name in Trinidadian East Indian cuisine. It’s a joy to see the longevity and success of Caribbean-American owned business. I have patronized their business close to a decade. Ali’s is due respect for sharing Caribbean cuisines to the American audience.

Food and service wise: I’m so over the long waits, under-staffing, and underwhelming food.

Improve your doubles. Every time I succumb to the convenience of proximity, it’s a worse experience.

1) Have at least 4 people behind the counter, especially during busy days and times, especially when you have Uber orders. Having one person doing all that work is criminal.

2) Stop using the same channa for roti for the doubles.

3) Work on your barra, it should never be hard. Your barra and channa fighting for who could be the hardest! Ah tiyaad!!!!! Read my reviews — these teeth are new!

4) Never again put mustard in macaroni pie! This experience was a few years ago and I’ve never asked for it again. But lest allyuh still doing this, STOP IT!

5) I would consistently give your rotis 6.5/10. The roti skins are often large and take the sauces well, are wrapped tight and survive travel. But it can be improved.

6) My friends tend to like your bake and saltfish and bake & corned beef. I mean, how can you really mess up bake and corned beef?

Please actively work on improving your food quality. I would hate to think that I always get food on your “worse days.” I hope my review lands effectively with the owners and propel them into action. However, they might just read this and STEUPES.

For the increased prices for doubles we really should be getting good quality food!

For anyone in need of doubles, I would highly suggest A&As on Fulton in BK or Trinciti in Queens.

Jay Thanks for your insight your opinion does matters I don't know when last you had the macaroni pie on any other food but you right 1000% I will personally look in to everything you said
I went to Ali’s roti shop to get a goat roti and four doubles I had to throw away the roti it was very salty. I also threw away two doubles after tasting the first one my sister had ling and stew chicken and my cousin had a stew chicken roti we all had to throw away. Spent I spent $40 my sister spent $53.00. the food came up to $32. Dollars with tax please walk with cash if you’re buying overall we spent $100 and threw away all of the food. The server also had an attitude regarding the line situation Which didn’t have much signs for months I have been wanting to try Ali’s The experience was very disappointing. The atmosphere the music was good. We listen to Eskimo by Trinidad killa. The juices were very good, sorrel orange, and grapefruit. Overall, two out of 10. Coming from Queens, I would rather go to Singhs or Trincity roti shop. I always figured Brooklyn Caribbean food was better But this experience was not it. Overall, everything was salty no No disrespect, but I wish we could be refunded.
I had a music video shoot call time of 6:00. Got there, but decided to wait until 7:45 since it is a night shoot. I asked for a good place to get some food. I was directed to Ali's

First thing I do is look at the cleanliness of a business. As soon as I walk into a place, I check out how clean it is and I always look at where the food is at. The food was well presented and it wasn't sloppy and food all over the place. Everything look neat and clean. I also make a quick rundown of the workers. I look at their outfits. Are They wearing gloves and so on.

The food was well presented and the staff answered questions. She even when it's far to ask if that what I chose looked good. It did. .

The person in front of me ordered rice and chicken with macaroni pie on the side. When he got to the counter, the man didn't realize the macaroni pie was part of his order. He told him don't worry about it just put it in the bag. I thought that was super cool.

I paid for my order and asked if he had any non-carbonated drinks because everything in the cooler look like soda. He gave me a drink for free from behind the counter. There's a fountain there. Again super cool. Especially as a first time patron, this is a wonderful memory

I ordered pasta with curry chicken on top. It was good. Not very spicy and not very salty. A lot of times these places drown their food with salt. It tasted good and I left none. I got roti skin with it, because how can you eat this without roti skin of course. The roti skin was warm and soft all the way through. Every bite was a delight.

I almost definitely hit this place up again when I'm in a neighborhood. It is now on my list!
