The restaurant was so nice! The workers were amazing and very helpful! My friend and I enjoyed our time here! Will definitely be back!

This place was amazing! I came in right as opening time, and it was pretty quiet. Love the music and the decor. My mom and I got The Madhatter set, which is made for 2 people. We got 2 tea pots, 3 scones, two sandwiches, a dessert, and a few cookies. The scones are delicious — especially the buttermilk and the pumpkin ones. The almond tea and the white champagne raspberry tea were delightful. Both are better with sugar. The honey takes away from the flavors a bit. Highly recommend coming here for a delicious, filling, and quiet tea time :)
Took my little gal here for a mommy and me date!

Love this Gem! Staff are always so pleasant, the art work is so fun and the food/ tea are always delicious!

Even the bathroom has pretty dope artwork!

I recommend making reservations. Both times we went, we didn’t have any and it took about 20 mins to sit which isn’t terrible since they are always so packed. If you’re going with more than one person or have small kids, definitely make reservations.
Worth the wait!

We had the MadHatter
$92

Two 3-cup pots of tea
Choice of three scones with cream & preserves
Choice of two sandwiches (grilled sandwiches not included)
Mocha cake or chocolate mousse, and assorted mini cookies

I had the chai and they were able to make one tea pot, apple juice per my daughter’s request!

Great place for tea parties!
What a wonderful way to share mother daughter time. We were two moms and daughters. One group ordered the mad hatter and two others ordered afternoon tea. There is a $15 per person on Saturday and Sunday 10-3p but that is very easy to do. Lots of ladies groups and plenty of little girls dressed in fairy clothing. Delicious scones though I wish they served a little more clotted cream with them especially when you are ordering two. Loved the black fruit tea and enjoyed the whole experience. Han and cheese scone was for my savory side and the berry scone for my sweet side.
I had such a wonderful time at this Upper West Side classic! The food was delicious, but the tea was absolutely the highlight—so flavorful and comforting. I was pleasantly surprised by the serving size; one pot was incredibly generous and easily poured about 6 to 8 cups. Definitely a must-visit spot if you’re looking for a great tea experience!
Came here with family, including several kids. It's super cute inside with an Alice and Wonderland theme. They serve all different kind of tea and finger foods mostly. Food is ok. I think most people go for the tea and ambiance. Fun if you have little kids.
Visited Alice’s Tea Cup with my sister today. We had the Madhatter (tea for two). We had the Alice Tea and the white champagne Raspberry tea. The Alice Tea is darker and smooth. The white champagne raspberry tea is light and fruity body. We glad we tried such contrast combinations. The tower came with cakes but we decide to have fruits instead of cake (tried to save some calories for the scones. Haha). The whipped cream and jam combination was a perfect match with the scones. We picked the curry chicken and cucumber sandwiches. Very light and tasty, perfect with our teas.

We loved the vibe in the tea house and enjoyed our teas, sandwiches and scones. Definitely will bring my families and friends to experience what we experienced today. Thank you Alice’s Tea Cup!!!!!!!
Alice’s Tea Cup is a sweet little cafe on UWS.

The Best thing here for me:
The Fresh Scones are hands down super delicious and probably the best things on the menu. I had a Mixed Berry scone and it was very fresh and served deliciously with cream and jam. I highly recommend it. It is crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. Not too sweet. Goes perfectly with the tea.

About the Teas:
I’m an ardent tea lover and always drink loose leaf tea at home. I tried here both Alice’s house special and Indian Chai tea. Both teas are much better than any other places in the area - serving aromatic and flavorful teas. So applause for that!
However I see room for improvement ideas: I personally like strong teas and here I couldn’t regulate the strength of my tea as it is brewed at the tea station. So my suggestion is to either
1) ask customers how strong they want their tea (crazy string, strong medium weak) like with a steak (medium well etc. )
2) ask customers if they want to leave the tea leaves or the tea pouch In the pot. This way the tea can keep getting stronger and more flavorful as the conversation with friends keep flowing. This way the customer can also feel a part of the tea process and regulate their own tea strength.

Food:
I had Scones Benedict
It was not bad but not great - I would say medium. I would not order them here again.

Ambience:
The place feels very magical and very cute - with Alice ideas throughout the cafe. Nice touches.

Staff:
Very nice, polite, kind, helpful, and soft spoken.

Overall:
It’s a solid choice for afternoon tea with scones - which does deserve 5 stars.

However certain details about the tea brewing options and the savory food quality reduced my rating to 4 - 4.5 stars.

maybe making the menu smaller and focusing more on solid tea options you have will even more improve your quality.

But overall - great place especially for families with kids.

My DD Verdict Here: GO HERE!!!
Such a cozy spot for British-style afternoon tea in NYC. Loved the three-tier stand with sandwiches, scones, fruit and pancakes, and the huge teapot to share. The décor is super whimsical – fairy wings on the wall, twinkle lights, and rows of tea tins behind the counter. Service was sweet and unhurried. Perfect place for a casual “high tea” date with friends.
This cute tea house is so cozy!!! The mural, antique pictures, tea cup, and tables make the space special and inviting. I was never a big fun of scones, -until I tried theirs! Now it's honestly my favorite scones ever!!
My favorite tea is the White Champagne. The taste is mild, and the fragrance is so soothing that I feel like I could drink it forever!
This welcoming little spot has quickly become one of my favorite places to relax. And you absolutely must try their afternoon tea- it's amazing!!
Highly recommend!!!
What a hidden gem! If you blink as you’re walking down the street, you will miss it! This is a tiny little place where you can get a big experience! So sweet and whimsical. The food was absolutely delicious! Down the rabbit hole is a meal that has a pumpkin pancake, bacon, and scrambled eggs. I would never guess this combination made such a sweet and savory brunch! Do not skip on the scones… The strawberry and lemon glaze was amazing. Also got a slice of white cake with chocolate icing for a dessert later on tonight. I’m extremely optimistic that will be just as delicious as everything else I had today. Everyone here was so kind in the midst of a rush. Our server Andrew was just absolutely delightful! If you’re looking for a quiet spot, this isn’t it. This cute restaurant is quite noisy but absolutely worth it!! You’re missing out if you don’t try this place while you’re in New York. I’m so glad me and my daughter did!
While I loved the atmosphere and the scones were very good
We also got cake, the banana bread cake was very stodgy and I didn’t eat it. We did mention it to the waitress and she didn’t offer any suggestions. She did take 1 dollar off the bill!
We were there at 11 am when they opened but the brunch menu was not available. We asked were there any eggs available? She replied no, just the scones and the lunch menu which had limited items.
Overall. It was ok but I’m in no rush back.
The tea selection was delicious so many options to choose from. The food options weren't my favorite. Thw curry chicken sandwich was probably the most tasty. The pastries weren't too sweet. I would return just for the tea. You are able to buy the teas by the oz if you wish to go which was a bonus. Service was good. Just wish I enjoyed the food a little more.
✨Great Experience, good time, big selection of tea and delicious food.

The place is quite cozy, inspired by the decor and colors of Alice in Wonderland. Get ready to truly enjoy a great selection of delicious teas, a great staff willing to chat and give suggestions. They have a special tea menu with more than 30 combinations that will make you want to try more than one pot, without forgetting the delicious fluffy and moist scones that come with some accompaniments like butter, jelly, and whipped cream (you must try the berry scones). But if you're ready for something more than tea and dessert, they have a very good variety of sandwiches, burritos, salads and soup. This place offers a great time with good deals, like a pot of tea with scones for just $18, or the brunch around $35, plus the specialty teas that change according to the seasons.
Stopped in for a cupboard tea and some scones. Fun atmosphere, friendly staff and delicious mid-afternoon snack after strilling in Central Park. Conner was welcoming and attentive. It was nice to see some kids wearing the butterfly wings you can purchase up front.
