I’ve been coming to Alma Lower Manhattan Cinemas several times a year, and unfortunately the food quality seems to have changed recently. During our latest visit while watching The Mandalorian & Grogu, nearly everything we ordered was overwhelmingly salty.<br><br>The Carnivore pizza was extremely salty, the jumbo mozzarella sticks were also very salty, and even the salsa seemed overloaded with salt.<br><br>That said, the milkshake was fantastic. The theater experience itself was still enjoyable, but the food definitely needs improvement compared to how it used to be.

Guys!<br>We used to love you..but this weekend was terrible!<br>First, we ordered tix online. I never got the email with the tix-but our card was charged. When we explained this to the staff they said this was a reoccurring problem... no problem except...now our movie was sold out. So we had to watch something we had planned on. Not a huge deal...<br>But this ordering off the ap?<br>So bad...your encouraging people to take out their phones and clearly you laid off some staff to replace them with the ap. Now the staff that are left are over worked and can't keep up.<br>You have been such an amazing place for us but this isn't great...

COOL LOCATION - A biit steep to find and all the way at the bottom floor. Kind of gives you a corporate feel more than a movie theater at first. I like how this location has a lot more hallway space than the downtown Brooklyn location. Decor is really cool from old school posters to and art. Food selection was pretty good here I will just say my first batch of popcorn may have been left over from the morning crew was not as fresh but the 2nd request was much better.

Alamo has always been my favorite movie theater, and I’ve recommended it to many friends over the years because of the great service and surprisingly good food.<br><br>Unfortunately, my recent experience felt very different. The switch to online ordering takes away much of the personal touch that made Alamo stand out in the first place. More concerning, though, is the noticeable decline in food quality. The pizza was overly doughy, the queso was watery, and the fries arrived cold.<br><br>Alamo used to distinguish itself from other theaters through both its service and food quality, but it now seems to be moving in the opposite direction. I understand the need to control costs, but for a dine-in theater concept, reducing service and food quality does not feel like the right strategy.

I don’t believe in leaving negative reviews without first giving the feedback to the business. Unfortunately, Alamo has really gone downhill despite customers expressing how bad the experience has gotten.<br><br>1. You have to order food through an app, meaning people are using their phones throughout the movie :(<br>2. The food quality has gone down so far, it tastes like McDonald’s burger meat and NOT in a good way. They’ve removed a lot of the dishes that made it worth it<br>3. They default your tip to 20% despite the fact that you never interact with a human the whole time… no one even checks your ticket<br><br>This is all the reflection of corporate greed cutting costs at every turn. They’re cutting back staff and using cheaper quality food, but the prices are the same. Why pay a premium for the Alamo experience when you could support a local theatre or save money and go to the amc for the same (or better) showing.<br><br>Still 3 stars because they show good movies and the quality of the screen and audio and seats are good. Really too bad Alamo went to the pits when Sony bought them

What happened? Ever since Sony bought the Alamo drafthouse, the experience declined. I remember enjoying the employees coming up to you and writing down your order. You felt good and enjoyed decent food despite the prices. Now you sit down and theres a QR code to scan. No more menus, no more employees asking if you'd like to order something. You have to do it on the phone and the food quality, portions have declined. The experience is dead and to order stuff during a movie requiring to use my phonr defeats the purpose of no phones during the movie. Who thought this was good idea? Oh right corporations who maximize profits and shareholders pockets instead of the consumer or good customers. Sorry to the people who work at Alamo, you guys are great and have been helpful to me many times. I was even rooting for you guys during the strike. I hope things turn out for the better.

The environment here is wonderful—there's a restaurant/bar area before you head down to the theaters that sets such a great tone for the experience.<br><br>The recliner seats are lovely and very comfortable. Lots of space so you're not elbowing your neighbor, which makes all the difference. The food was delicious (it took a little bit to come out, but no big deal).<br><br>The real highlight is their amazing selection of films you can rent—a true treat for any cinephile. We spent 20 minutes flipping through titles and found some real gems!! :D

It’s a gorgeous underground cinema spot with a wonderful selection of worldwide cinema! It also has delicious food, wonderful cocktails, and a cozy environment. Just perfect for enjoying a film without interferences: noise people are kindly escorted out.

I went to see scream 7 last night. Horrible service. One of the servers almost gave me someone else’s food. Luckily the person next to me said that was his food order. The person on my other side wasn’t so lucky. He didn’t order any food. Yet the server placed a dessert and ran off without confirming if that was his order. He didn’t touch it and they still gave him the bill. I’m not sure if it’s scam or they are just really bad at their job. The servers don’t even bother to bend down when passing by you. Some of them will just stand right in front of you. And now you’ve missed key moments in the movie. Just rude. I definitely would not recommend this theatre. Nor will I be coming back.

Nice location, it is three floors down from ground level. The food was good. The cauliflower bites were superb. Such a comfortable and great way to watch a film while you get served your food and recline your chair

I’ve been going to Alamos since the original and only one on Colorado in Austin. This one won my heart. It has the Kim’s Video collection available for borrowing and the decor is excellent. Love the posters and Stay-Puff and Pee Wes’s bike. The service was up to Alamo’s excellent standards.

Alamo Drafthouse is definitely an elevated movie theater experience. Servers bring food and drinks directly to your seat, so you don’t have to deal with concession lines, and the seats are comfortable and recline nicely. It feels more upscale than a standard theater without being as expensive as you might expect. The popcorn is also really good and comes with free refills, which is a nice bonus.<br><br>The main downside is the temperature—it is consistently freezing. I had to keep my puffer coat on for the entire movie. If you run cold, definitely plan accordingly. Overall, still a great option for a more comfortable, service-forward moviegoing experience.

decided to go last minute to the movies, movie was at 9:55 arrived by 10:05 and the movie still hadn’t played, got seated and well served. wonderful vibe, you are welcomed with a retro vibe video store which i LOVED, going down the stairs that is also wheelchair accessible with a elevator, you are brought to an underground old video store filled with old classic movie posters. my only problem with the place is that the seats didn’t go as back as i would have liked, but the service was relatively quick, very easy way to communicate with the waiters using paper and pen to write it down like a note pad but without that they didn’t stop for much. food came pretty quick, and it was a very nice vibe of relaxing for a thursday night.

This is my second time at this movie theater and it’s been great both times! The theaters are smaller than the ones at AMC/Regal. The best part is being able to order food/drinks at your seat throughout the entire movie. If people walking by bothers you, probably not the best theater to watch a movie. I also recommend sitting one row behind the first row since it is quite close to the monitor if you’re sitting in the first row. Also, they don’t take Apple Pay so make sure you have a card or cash with you to pay for the food/drinks.
