Stunning Palestinian food that is BYOB! You have to try the labneh and eat halloumi with it! Everything is great!

Absolutely delicious meal - loved our main dish in particular. Great and very attentive staff. However, thought the hummus could have used more flavor. Also, the interior lights were a bit bright so definitely go for the good not the atmospherics.

Wow, what a delicious meal! The staff were all very friendly. Can’t wait to come back here. The grilled halloumi salad was really good. Beautiful tree.

So delicious! The taboon was amazing. So fresh! Ordered the pistachio cheese flatbread and ouzi lamb. Both were excellent. The Ouzi rice was well seasoned and super flavorful and lamb was falling is the bone tender. Finished with the tahini booza and Arabian coffee. Very satisfying!

The location is nice, near the water. We walked then came to the restaurant to eat and walked back. The inside is beautiful, especially the tree. The atmosphere is more for friends/family. If you’re going with small group (less than 4) can be a bit hard to hear each other, it was for us. There were many big parties and they seemed drunk / had drinks? Not sure if the restaurant served them or they brought their own. Seems odd to me because it’s supposed to be halal. The portions are big but too big for 1 person, prices are reflected for this. My fiancée did not like the chicken (-1 star). It was too big to cut up in that plate and the taste was very off. I ordered the mix grill and LOVED the lamb chop (only 1). The rest of the meat was okay, a bit chewy, etc.

Amazing meats and vegetarian options. I like how the menu has evolved over the years to have lighter options - perfect for lunch with family and friends. Huge +1 to the Hummus shawarma bowl, loved it. Place has also been renovated to have more natural light and seating. Definitely will come back more often!

DELICIOUS food and excellent service. enjoyed everything we ordered: the lamb was tender and fell off the bone, with nicely spiced rice; a generous portion of tasty meat with our hummus shawarma; and a classic rendition of muhammara.

no wonder this place is always full! will definitely be coming back.

As an arab woman, I’m ashamed that they’re serving these dishes to people who want authentic palestinian food. My husband (also arab) and I walked in after passing this place a bunch of times. It looked very beautiful inside, but there’s where the amusement ended. We ordered labna as an appetizer which was pretty decent, however the pita bread was severely undercooked. We ordered the maskhan dish, and we waited probably close to an hour waiting for it. I understand things are freshly prepped and made, but when we received it, it did not look like a meal that needed almost an hour. It had bread that was also undercooked, burnt not caramelized onions, and very bland and under seasoned chicken. The presentation was nice but it truly was not a good experience for my taste buds. The service was okay, I felt bad for the workers it seemed like it was only like 2-3 of them serving tables so of course I dont mind them checking in once in a while due to how busy they were. But overall, disappointment. Only way I’d come back is if i’m deathly craving some arab food and this is the only restaurant open in a 5 mile radius.

Solid Palestinian food on Atlantic Ave! We got the Ouzi Lamb and Mixed platter kebabs with the lamb chop; and ended with the knafe. Lamb was falling off the bone- the Ouzi Lamb tasted like it was cooked in a Palestinian’s grandmothers home and served fresh - flavors were warm and fragrant!! Kebabs had a ton of flavor; rice was fluffy and the knafe was probably one of the best I’ve had in the city. Service is slow but they are extremely busy! Would love to be back - if you can get a seat, def try it out!

FIREEE Palestinian food. Def need to come back, esp for the knafeh. Service was a little slow tho w/ food

- Complimentary pita w/ olives, oil, and seasoning: Warm, fire
- Kousa mahshi: Mid, lacked flavor
- Mansaf: 11/10, lamb fell right off the bone, and flavor was yummy. Like the soup it came with
- Msakhan: 9/10, a little sour, but I really liked all the onions. Chicken itself was tender but tasted like every other rotisserie chicken
- Knafeh: 11/10 MUST GET. Best knafeh I’ve had in nyc

Absolutely fantastic Middle Eastern food. We ordered a variety of dishes and every plate was generous, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. The rice dishes were perfectly spiced and topped with toasted nuts, the roasted chicken was tender and deeply seasoned, and the grilled meats were juicy with a great char. The creamy sauces and yogurt-based sides paired perfectly with everything, and even the salad felt fresh and thoughtfully made.

Portions are large and ideal for sharing, making it a great spot for a group meal. Everything tasted comforting and authentic, like a home-cooked feast. If you’re looking for rich flavors, hearty plates, and a satisfying dining experience in Brooklyn, Al Badawi is a must-visit.

Excellent middle eastern restaurant.
With all the classic dishes like hummus and tabuleh, and good quality shawarma. They don’t have lamb but chicken and beef.
Beet salad was excellent.
Combination appetizer platter was excellent too - recommend it highly.
Overall, a nice experience and great food.

This was my first time dining here. The food was phenomenal and fresh. The servers and hostess were so polite and welcoming. The hibiscus’s bliss is my absolute favorite. I will definitely be back!

Delicious, beautiful, generous, and so dang tasty. The food is well priced for the quantity (I had enough leftovers for dinner and I only ordered one dish), beautifully presented (like, look at this gorgeousness), and again, delicious. The fresh pita bread was warm and soft and I think the best pita bread I’ve ever had. The chicken was perfectly cooked and well seasoned. Whatever dressing they put on the salad was delicious. Everything was fresh, cooked perfectly, and perfectly seasoned. The atmosphere was alive without being overwhelming and the restaurant was just as beautiful as the food. It’s obvious that every detail of this place was chosen with care. It’s been on my list to try for a while and I think will become my go-to place to eat in the UES. They gave me some baklava on the house for dessert and that was just as yummy—warm and syrupy and incredible. Absolutely recommend this hidden gem.
