Stopped by 230 Fifth Rooftop and the skyline views did not disappoint! The Empire State Building feels close enough to touch. It gets incredibly packed and lively later in the evening, so it has more of a high-energy club vibe than a quiet lounge. Grab a frozen cocktail, enjoy the music, and just soak in the NYC magic. Definitely a must-visit spot for the views!

Response from the owner

It’s great to know you embraced the energy, music, and atmosphere that make the rooftop such a unique NYC experience.

We truly appreciate your recommendation and support, and we hope to welcome you back again soon for more frozen cocktails and unforgettable views! 🌆🍹✨

Sitting on a roof top bar with a view of the Empire State Building is a view like no other. We went for happy hour so drinks were reasonable and vibes were good! Beautifully decorated bar!

The food wasn’t great, but the service was even worse. They didn’t clear the plates when we finished eating The glass they served my Aperol in was DIRTY it had black marks inside, and I didn’t notice until I had almost finished my drink. There are far too many people here. This place seems to be more about taking photos than providing a quality experience. They clearly prioritize quantity over quality

Response from the owner

Thank you for your feedback, Ruth. We’re very sorry to hear that your experience did not meet expectations. Cleanliness, attentive service, and providing a quality guest experience are extremely important to us, so we’re disappointed to learn about the issues you encountered during your visit.

We appreciate you taking the time to share your concerns regarding the service, cleanliness, food, and overall atmosphere. If you are looking for a rooftop bar with No Cover charge, this is the perfect spot. The moment you step onto the terrace, you can see the Empire State Building in front of you. It is a view of the city that make you take a break and linger a little bit.

Whether you order a classic cocktail or beer, everything tastes better with skyline as your backdrop. Disappointing Mother's Day Experience – Avoid the Indoor BuffetI visited specifically for the Mother’s Day Buffet and, unfortunately, it was the worst buffet experience I’ve had. The food was cold, bland, and lacked flavor entirely. We were seated in a dark indoor room with dirty, dated furniture, and even the plastic mimosa glasses were filthy. I was hoping to give my mom a special day but was left deeply disappointed. While the rooftop remains beautiful and the views are great, the indoor dining experience was a total letdown. If you're looking for a quality brunch, look elsewhere. I’ll return for the rooftop drinks, but I will never eat here again.

Response from the owner

Thank you for your feedback, Karina. We’re truly sorry to hear that your Mother’s Day experience did not meet expectations, especially on such a special occasion for you and your mom. We understand your disappointment regarding the buffet, cleanliness, and indoor dining atmosphere, and this is certainly not the experience we strive to provide.

We do appreciate your kind words about the rooftop and views, and we’re grateful you took the time to share your concerns. Your feedback will be addressed with our team as we continue working to improve both our service and dining experience. We hope to have the opportunity to provide you with a much better visit in the future.

This spot was so great! Just a bit crowded. We ended up standing with our drinks bc all the tables were packed. Great views of the city though and a gorgeous sunset view. I ordered a champagne candy drink and it came topped with cotton candy and a rubber duck! So cute!

Tried 230 Fifth Rooftop Bar in NYC and the view alone makes it worth it. You get a stunning, close up look of the Empire State Building, especially at night when everything lights up. 🌆 The vibe is fun but definitely busy and a bit touristy, especially on weekends. Drinks are okay but a little pricey for the quality, so you’re mostly paying for the experience and location. It’s a great spot to visit at least once for the views and photos, just don’t expect a super chill or luxury rooftop vibe.

Response from the owner

Thank you for your thoughtful review, Anna! We’re so glad you enjoyed the stunning views of the Empire State Building—especially at night.
We appreciate your honest feedback regarding the atmosphere and drinks, and we’ll continue working to improve the overall experience. Thank you for recommending us as a must-visit spot, and we hope to welcome you back again soon! 🌆✨

230 Fifth is a great rooftop spot if you’re looking for good views, a relaxed atmosphere, and an easy overall experience. The highlight is definitely the direct view of the Empire State Building—it really doesn’t get old, especially in the evening.

The space is large, with plenty of seating, so it doesn’t feel overly crowded even when it’s busy. There’s also a designated smoking area, which is a plus if that matters to you.

Service stands out—staff are quick, attentive, and keep things moving smoothly, which makes a big difference in a place like this. Food is solid as well, with a good selection that pairs well with the setting and drinks.

Overall: great service, fast turnaround, lots of space, and one of the better rooftop views in NYC. Definitely worth a visit.

We loved the igloos on the rooftop. It was a chilly and rainy March evening, but it was still pleasant. It must be great in the summer. Loved the views! After dinner outside, we went inside for another drink, and the inside was also very nice. Would go back.

Response from the owner

Thank you for the wonderful review, Dustin! We’re so glad you enjoyed the igloos and still had a pleasant experience despite the chilly, rainy evening. It’s great to hear you liked both the rooftop and indoor spaces. We truly appreciate your support and look forward to welcoming you back—especially in the summer for a whole new vibe! 🌆✨

Celebrating New Year’s Eve 2026 at 230 Fifth Rooftop was nothing short of spectacular—and truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that getting a table was the best decision we could have made. Having appetizers and a bottle delivered directly to our table as part of the package elevated the entire night and allowed us to relax and fully enjoy the celebration without fighting crowds. The layout was incredibly well thought out: despite being a packed NYE event, it never felt uncomfortably crowded. There were endless photo opportunities with the iconic skyline as the backdrop, making every moment feel special and memorable.

The energy throughout the night was electric. The DJs were phenomenal, keeping the vibe high and the party going nonstop. A huge shout-out to our waiter, Abu Karim, who was absolutely outstanding—attentive, professional, and on top of everything all night long. His service alone made the experience feel seamless and VIP. The open bar was fantastic, and the round rooftop igloos were such a cool touch—easy to access, warm, and perfect for enjoying drinks while taking in the views. Even better, they provided robes for guests who wanted to stay outside on the rooftop, proving that they truly thought of every detail.

Coming all the way from California, spending New Year’s Eve in New York City was a bucket-list dream—and this night at 230 Fifth was the cherry on top. From start to finish, it exceeded every expectation imaginable. Thoughtful planning, incredible atmosphere, top-tier service, and unforgettable memories made this a 10/10 experience. I would absolutely do it again without hesitation and highly recommend it to anyone looking to ring in the New Year in the most iconic way possible.

Fantastic view, very nice bar and place, very nice christmas decoration. Were 1 week in NYC, wss one of the best decorations we have seen. Film experience "kevin alone in NY" was good! The Service was also good. The Manager gave us 1 popcorn for free, because of a mistake in describtion on the homepage eventbrite. There we have booked the tickets.
The only thing i missed was a cocktail card for specials we perhaps do not know in Europe :-) Was only online and there are many tourists from all over the world.
Would spending time again at this beautiful place! Thanks!

Excellent experience, stunning view & well maintained.
I visited in December 2025, right on the day of NYC snow storm, roof top was magical. Staff did good job in cleaning the snow. Igloos were well maintained & were heated. It was quite an experience to sit in a igloo & enjoy your drinks. FYI, your food & drink will be delivered in the igloo itself.
Restaurant was just one level below to the rooftop & it was spacious, clean & decorated well.

I loved the food, specially avocado toast, fries & waffle.

Great views, drinks are decent and decently priced. Food is okay. There may be some what of a wait to go up but it goes by very quick. I think the music is best at the main room. But for the view you must go to the roof top. It can be a bit challenging to find a spot or place to sit at fyi.

When we first arrived at the rooftop, what stood out to me the most was how well decorated the place was. They did an excellent job with making sure the venue is presentable. I also absolutely loved the view of the Empire State building in the cubbies we picked to sit in, which also had a heater since it was chilly out.

We arrived when they were serving brunch, and I personally ordered the Chicken & Waffles. If I’m being honest, I was a little disappointed with the food. It was prepared and presented nicely, but didn’t have much taste. It was bland. Both meals here didn’t have much taste. I hope it’s different with their meals for dinner, but I felt as though a home cooked meal would’ve tasted better.

Overall, a very nice place, but I personally would have rather gone during the summer months because being outside in the cold wasn’t that much fun. Hopefully I can try their lunch and dinner menus instead.

Response from the owner

Devon sorry to hear food didn't meet your expectations.

We appreciate all the other wonderful feedback
